Lauren - Nov 2023
"The chalet was tiny. Very basic. No towels. No outdoor space. Or the space was taken up by neighbouring chalets"
Harriet - Nov 2023
"Amazing holiday, our Chalet was better than we thought, great value for what we paid. Clean, beds made for us arriving. Kids absolutely loved it. Lots to do on site and off. Very close to a beach. Views are outstanding when off site. Food is really good, expensive though. We did 4 days and found that was long enough. Staff are very friendly, always happy to help."
Laura - Nov 2023
"We enjoyed our stay here. Our chalet was nice and very clean inside. The park overall was lovely and the reception staff are amazing. Extremely helpful and friendly! The location was good and right next to the seafront. We found a little park and splash park a 15 minute walk away that our little girl loved. The pool onsite is lovely and clean and well run. There were a few things we were a bit disappointed with though. The park onsite wasn't great and it was really muddy. The restaurant serves lovely food but the service isn't fantastic, they have bingo on just before the tots activities and are quite rude when children waiting for the entertainment are making any noise. The entertainment staff in general are not great they were all quite arrogant. During the tots activities they gave stickers out to some kids and others didn't get anything. Our little girl waited for one every night and never got one as did other children and you could see how disappointed they were. She also walked onto the stage at one point and was told off by one of the staff which I was appalled by as she is only just coming up 2. Apart from these things we had a lovely time here."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Chalet was clean and comfortable the bar reasturant was nice good food all round a good week away"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"A good few days away, lovely clean chalet. The only thing I would fault is no blind at the bathroom window. Couldnt fault anything else. A perfect holiday for people with small children."
Suzanne - Nov 2023
"Me and my family had a lovely weekend, chalet was lovely loads of space very clean and close to club house staff were all lovely and very helpfull"
Kym - Nov 2022
"3rd visit and have to say we have always had a lovely stay, clean and comfortable, i know the chalets are in the process of upgrading so looking forward to seeing them next time. we could see a difference around the park as well including the indoor pool. i heard that the whole reception area inc pub, pool etc is being knocked down to make way for brand new amenities. the area is totally flat with lovely greens and long prom to enjoy walks and great for dogs if you have them. the town itself is an old victorian seaside with cobbled main road and a handful of shops, bars and takeaways but with easy access to the lakes and towns, happy days, will return"

Attractions Near Solway Holiday Village

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 14 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 14 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 17 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ
about 22 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 28 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 33 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Laggan Outdoor - DG7 3NQ
about 35 Miles

An outdoor activity center suitable for families. Featuring one of Europe's longest zip wires, jeep driving, grass sledging, archery, outdoor scooters. A mix of fun and adreneline rides and a lot more.

Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 39 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
