Wild Rose Park Reviews

"We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, its really well put together with high quality finishes all around. Theyve thought of pretty much everything! The only tricky part was trying to keep the temperature just right-those sunny days and chilly nights made it tricky. The deck and hot tub were definitely highlights, both absolutely lovely. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend it to others!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Great stay, comfy and spotlessly clean, felt like a home away!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"We had a really lovely stay in this spacious lodge, which exceeded our expectations considering the price. It was spotless, well-equipped and perfect for what we needed. Definitely recommend!"
Emma - Feb 2025
"Very comfortable stay, perfect for our family of five, we loved it!"
James - Feb 2025
"Our Wild Rose Park review: The lodge was spotless and well-equipped, really impressed. Would've loved a handheld vacuum to keep everything tidy throughout the week though. Still, great stay!"
Chris - Oct 2024
"The place was really good for what we paid, quiet spot and had all essentials. Sofa bed wasnt the comfiest, but manageable!"
Emma Clarke - Oct 2024
"The staff are genuinely friendly and the setting is just perfect for families. Lovely break!"
Mark - Oct 2024
"Absolutely loved the park, totally worth the visit, highly recommend it!"
Ella - Oct 2024
"Overall, pretty pleased! The caravan was comfy, though a bit snug in some spots. Decking was a real highlight! Loved it."
Emma Clarke - Oct 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, stunning scenery everywhere!"
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"The caravan was spotless and clearly well looked after, which we really appreciated. We did find it a bit tricky without a thermostat to manage the heating, relying solely on individual radiator valves. Maybe park management could think about adding one for easier control. Still, a lovely stay overall!"
David - Sep 2024
"So, we arrived on Friday afternoon and our caravan, 18 Howgils, had a damaged twin bedroom door. We called reception around 4 pm and they said someone would come to look at it. After unpacking, we headed to the on-site bar and called again at 5 pm to confirm the repair was underway. They told us a maintenance guy was going up to fix it. When we got back around 7:30 pm, the door was still broken and when we rang reception again, we were told the maintenance team finished at 4:30 pm. Honestly, that was pretty disappointing, especially since wed been told differently earlier. Thankfully, the next day things got sorted and we could enjoy the rest of our holiday. There were also other little issues around the caravan - some parts werent finished properly and the end of the drive looked a bit rough. Its not a huge deal, but considering how well the site was maintained overall, it was a bit of a let-down. Oh and we had to ask for a hoover; no cleaning was provided mid-week, which was a surprise with a dog and kids about! Reception did arrange for a cleaner to come, so that was sorted eventually. Also, the cladding panels on the caravan were loose, some access doors underneath were missing and the window trims were coming off. Its a shame because the place has potential, but these little things really could be improved."
Lisa Carter - Sep 2024
"Comfortable, clean, would recommend"
Emily - Sep 2024
"Overall, we had a decent stay. The caravan was spotless and the view was stunning. Toilets felt a bit cramped, but the place is new and well-maintained."
Samir - Sep 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay here! The site itself is lovely and the pool was nice and warm, which was a real highlight. The Hive pod was spacious and well stocked, making it super comfortable for us. We brought along our three kids-aged 7, 12 and 12-and they loved it too. The only thing we found a bit tricky was that there arent many places within walking distance to explore, so we had to drive at least half an hour for full days out, which was fine but a bit of a hassle. Plus, when we returned, the pool and cafe were closed, so longer opening hours would be a bonus if you want to stay on site all day. Still, wed definitely come back, especially with younger children!"
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"Overall, we had a lovely stay. The bar and restaurant served up some really delicious food and the swimming area was spotless. A couple of small things would make it even better-like comfy chairs on the balcony and a cover on the mattress for hygiene. Wed definitely recommend and hope to come back soon!"
Emma Carter - May 2024
"Great experience overall, we'll definitely be coming back again soon! The mini mart's closure was a bit of a bummer though."
Emma - Aug 2020
"We had a fantastic time! The park was spotless and the dog-friendly caravans made our stay even better."
Emma - Jul 2020
"Really enjoyed our stay, the caravan was super comfy and well equipped."
James - Nov 2019
"Absolutely loved it! The caravan was comfy and the views stunning."

"Great trip, would definitely return"
Michael - Sep 2019
"Really loved the cleanliness and all the amenities."
Alex - Sep 2019
"Always a lovely stay, highly recommend it."
Emily - Sep 2019
"Really enjoyed our visit, the place keeps improving each time!"
Alex - Sep 2019
"We had a fantastic stay at Wild Rose Park, definitely recommend it!"
Emma Clarke - Sep 2019
"Lovely park, really enjoyed our stay there!"
Emma - Aug 2019
"We just wanted a fresh, modern update for our caravan, but having only 3 forks and cups made things tricky for a family of four. Plus, all the kids fighting in the park wasn't exactly relaxing for the little ones!"
Emma - Aug 2019
"Amazing site and very friendly staff. Beautiful location and very clean"
Gemma - Jul 2022
"What a fabulous Park. Upon arrival the park is just so beautiful, well presented and clean - yes it has refurb and building works going on but that doesn't spoil anything. All staff we came across were extremely friendly and helpful, we felt genuinely welcome. We stayed in one of the Hive which were just fantastic for what we wanted and exceeded our expectations with no expense spared. The location and setting is perfect for all types of people with Appleby just down the road and the Lakes just over an hour away or perfect to make the most of the park and just relax. We have stayed on many parks and can honestly say this is one of the best by far with a lot of improvements already going on. Will be returning again very soon and would stay in a Hive again or may be treat ourselves to a caravan."
CLAIRE - Jul 2022
"Park was amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The surrounding area was beautiful and lots of things to see and do."
Karen - Jul 2022
"Great place in beautiful surroundings only negative would be the bar only sells pizza on the menu which means having to go off site for meals but didn’t ruin our trip away"
Charmaine - Jul 2022
"Was brilliant we tried to book an extra night but it wasn’t aloud which is a shame. There’s no shop on site but. 5 minute drive to Appleby was shops to use. The restaurant was lovely fairly priced & staff were amazing! The only thing I’d say was the view of construction but it can’t be helped & it’s helping improve the park so no bother! Will defo be returning"
Victoria - Jul 2022
"Would happily come again."
Christine - Jul 2022
"Just back from a lovely weekend break here. The receptionist was super friendly and really tried to give our dog treats even though he sometimes wasn't interested. The bar is lovely and ic the new building work matches up to that it will be amazing"
John - Jul 2022
"Visited this park many times, the staff are amazing especially Caitlin We were put in brand new caravan in the new development, which was lovely. Only negative is every cupboard in kitchen had something in it so finding space for food we’d taken was struggle out of sight of kids lol The new restaurant was open but unfortunately the toilets were not so 4 portaloos were in car park opposite which were everything you’d expect, smelly and unpleasant. It was extremely busy with nice weather and staff did best under challenging conditions I’ll definitely be back"
Kerry - Jul 2022
"We had a great short break at wild rose Park. The friendliness of the staff was amazing nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in a pet hive as travelled with our dog. The area was a little remote which we were aware of, but we walked into ormside, travelled by car to Appleby and the dog loved the dog park at the site. The bar and food was great, the pool was chilly but my son had great fun in there. The ice-cream farm near to penrith was great fun for my son and the ice-cream was divine!"
Michelle - Jul 2022
"We would happily return, especially as the facilities are being increased with new pool etc being built. The caravan gave the impression of being new and was immaculate, and the view was spectacular. Need a car to get anywhere but Appleby is only a few minutes’ drive away and the Lakes are reasonable distance for an outing."

Attractions Near Wild Rose Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Wild Rose Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 19 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 21 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 27 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 30 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 31 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 36 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 38 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 39 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 39 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
