"We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, its a bit of a mixed bag. The place itself is lovely and has a quirky charm, but some things are a bit odd. They provide an air fryer and one tray, but no oil or foil-stuff you'd expect to be included, but werent. We only got one and a half toilet rolls for four of us over the weekend, which was a bit tight. The hot tub was freezing on Friday night, so we couldnt use it and when we tried to call maintenance, no one answered. Luckily, it warmed up on Saturday, so we got to enjoy it then. Overall, a decent stay, but Im not rushing back anytime soon."

"Good value for money, furniture fittings do need updating but they are in regards to painting and updating rather than the use of the fittings. Everything was easy to use, beds were comfortable besides 1 bed in the single bed room was sunken a bit. Dining room chairs need replacing as the leather is damaged. Everything else good. I like that there was a washer/dryer as an option, Televisions in room could be a bit bigger, was not used."

"The kitchen facilities were great there is a dishwasher and air fryer but remember to take washing up liquid and cloth, cooking oil etc. if you forget anything theres a few local shops. Takeaways delivered to the gate. The hot tub was amazing, there were robes and towels provided. I was able to check in prior to arrival as the reception was closed by the time I was to get there the staff were friendly and helpful. Ive already recommended this place.Also check out Toons cafe it has the best breakfasts and hand make cakes. Theres also a spa which I forgot about otherwise I wouldve booked a massage. Maybe if I come back next year!"

"We had a pretty good stay overall. The site was super peaceful, which we loved and the staff were really helpful whenever we needed anything. The lodge was huge and had everything we could ask for - really comfortable. The hot tub was a nice touch, private and nicely fenced off, although it could do with a bit of sprucing up. A few things could be improved, like the main bathroom lock not working and the door trims peeling a bit, plus the shower screen didnt have a seal, so water got underneath. Doors were a bit squeaky too, needing some WD40. We wouldve appreciated an earlier check-in and a later check-out, but honestly, it didnt spoil our relaxing break. Were definitely thinking of coming back!"

"We recently spent a weekend at Ashby Woulds Lodges and Spa with our little one, whos just turned one, along with my parents. Honestly, the place was pretty much spot on with what you see in the pictures and description - no surprises there. The communal space really became the heart of our stay; the living room, kitchen and dining area were perfect for hanging out as a family. We loved having a private deck and outdoor BBQ area, plus the hot tub was spotlessly clean which was a real bonus. The peace and quiet was a big surprise - despite being right next to the reception and car park, it was so tranquil, we could barely hear a thing. The bedrooms and bathroom were a bit basic, but to be fair, thats exactly what we expected based on the photos. The staff really went above and beyond, especially when I accidentally booked the wrong date. They sorted it out without any fuss and had someone come to help us with the oven in no time at all. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We were there for a wedding and some of our friends stayed in nearby lodges, so it was nice having that group vibe. My tip is to double-check the pictures when booking, since some lodges have water views or hot tubs outside and others dont. Overall, were really happy with our stay - definitely a lovely little retreat!"

"Accommodation is tired and needs refreshed.We were told on arrival that the hottub had developed a leak that afternoon, and Hosaesons just told the site that only alternative was to cancel the holiday or switch off the hottub, but they refuse to ruin someone's holiday, as the hottub is usable just needing top up as required, they are letting us stay and they will top it up each morning. I think this is the story that is given to every new arrival at Lodge number 3.Considering we paid nearly £700 for 7 nights in a lodge described as Deluxe, we had:The two bathrooms have patches of mould. The decking is rotting to the point of being unsafe. When it rains, decking is a slip hazard.The main bathroom shower screen is missing the seal between the bath so the floor floodsThe other shower has poor pressure.The walls have numerous holes and scrapes.The couch is stained.The carpet is worn and coming away at the joins.The dishes were dirty on arrival, we used the dishwasher which doesn't wash properly, resulting in having to hand wash all week. The washing machine leaves a distinct smell, even after buying and using a washing machine cleaner."

"We really enjoyed our stay here, the site is peaceful and surrounded by lovely scenery. The facilities are top-notch and kept spotless, which made everything feel relaxing. We did have a bit of an issue with the hot tub not working initially, but the staff were quick to respond - a guy came out within the hour to sort it! The rooms are surprisingly spacious and comfortable, making it easy to settle in. One thing to watch out for is that the kitchen doesnt list its utensils online, so we werent sure what to pack, but it turned out fully stocked with everything from wine glasses to a cheese grater and placemats. They also supply washing up stuff, plus products for the washing machine and dishwasher, which was handy. Milk, tea and coffee were provided too - just remember to bring your own toilet roll as the rolls there dont last long. Overall, a lovely spot with everything we needed for a great weekend!"

The kitchen had everything we needed, which was great. We did run into a small hiccup with the heating on our first morning, but the staff handled it really swiftly. "We had a lovely break the lodge was spotlessly clean lovely soft towels provided, plenty of wardrobe space in both rooms. The beds were comfy. Hot tub checked and cleaned each day. My only negative is the kitchen knives were very blunt so struggled to even slice a tomato but that's the only negative I could state we had a lovely time and would definitely go back again."

"This is our second stay at Ashby woulds and we would stay again. The local area is nice with things to do- it’s close enough to town for takeaways or dinner out and the lodges are in a nice private gated park which made us feel safe. It’s very laid back and quiet and the hot tub is lovely!"
