King Richards Country Lodges Reviews

"Lovely lodge spotlessly clean, felt very safe and the hot tub was lovely. Shops were a short drive away for extra supplies. Bill was really helpful and nothing was too much trouble"
Estelle - Aug 2020
"quiet site, 10 lodges and an area for motor homes. Need transport to explore the area"
Elizabeth - Aug 2020
"Great site, very clean, lovely place to escape and relax! Plenty to do in local area but you need a car."
Laura - Aug 2020
"Only stayed for 2 nights although we had to pay for 4, but very clean & modern. Lovely views too and peaceful. Bill (owner) very friendly."
Danielle - Jul 2020
"Would 100% stay again, currently looking to book for the end of August. Outstanding accommodation and staff."
Sophie - Jul 2020
"Beautiful lodgers , had a relaxing time will definitely return well worth the money"
Danielle - Mar 2020
"Lovely 4 nights away. Immaculately clean and well resourced. Enjoyed by whole family."
Melissa - Feb 2020
"Probably the best lodge we have stayed in, would highly recommend and will be booking again."
Lee - Feb 2020
"Stayed at lodge number 3 for 3 nights, everything was clean and well presented. All the cooking utensils we could need were available along with a dishwasher for easy cleaning and drying.
Shops were only a few minutes drive away which was very convenient as we could get everything we needed to cook, no problem.
The hot tub was very high spec so we spent the majority of our nights in there before sitting down to watch tv, which had everything we could need on it.
All in all a very enjoyable experience, would definitely do it again"
Ashley - Feb 2020
"It was a lovely lodge with everything you would need. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen has excellent facilities.

The hot tubs are in plain view for all, but as there are a lot of remarks about that, I would guess the plan is to make them more private in the future.

There is a busy road nearby, but it doesn't really affect your sleep.

The deposit asked for is in cash, which I found quite odd, better to accept a debit card and leave the amount as pending unless required to be taken."
Verified Guest - Jan 2020
"If the hot tub was more private then would definitely come back again."
Karen - Dec 2019
"Nice secluded location, quiet, clean, even a bit of WiFi. Will definitely return."
Helen - Dec 2019
"Excellent except for 1st night couldn't use hot tub , and sorry but dont agree with hot tub rules as weve never come across this before ."
Paul - Nov 2019
"Our experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The lodge itself was new and cozy and was nicely furnished.

The location was nice and quiet, which was perfect for us. But if you are planning to walk to a nearby pub this would not be too practical as the site is situated on a very busy road.

Our hot tub was cold on arrival and was not in the process of heating up. Bill called one of his staff out who was not particularly pleasant and made it clear he could not be held responsible for ensuring all 10 hot tubs on the site were actually heating up. He did some checks and said it was an airlock and began to heat at around 19:00. The hot tub was not useable until around 11:00 the next morning, not ideal as this was the reason we booked the lodge.

On leaving and clearing the lodge we found a Stanley knife down the side of a bed in the twin room which was unused during our stay, thankfully we didn't have a young child in the room."
Andrew - Nov 2019
"everything you need lovely clean and tidy new lodge"
Andrew - Nov 2019
"Great location, wonderful lodge. We liked the personal touch and excellent presentation of the interior of the lodge. The owners met us and were very helpful. We could have stayed longer."
Mike - Sep 2019
"The 11 lodges were situated on a beautifully maintained quiet site.Access was via electronic gates so was very safe.
Lodge was immaculate and the hot tub was lovely!!!
Owner was always available to deal with any queries, would definitely recommend staying there!"
Lindsey - Aug 2019
"Yes will visit again"
Jane - Aug 2019
"Beautiful lodge. Well equipped, clean and hot tub just outside the door."
David - Aug 2019
"It was very good and would recommend"
Douglas - Jun 2019
"Enjoyed our stay. Ideal for me but I think the site might be too quiet for some."
Elizabeth - Jun 2019
"Best staycation so far and cant wait to bring the family back to enjoy all the great things the lodged have to offer didnt need to go anywhere because they had everything we needed"
Lorna - Jan 1970
"An ideal place for some peace and quiet, will definitely be back soon."
Michele - Jan 1970
"Excellent time had by my family (Inc 5 & 10 year olds).
Hot tub, accommodation and setting are excellent.
There is a requirement for £150 deposit which is fine, but had to be in cash, which was a bit strange.
Checkout needs to be organised a a bit better, we had to wait 40 minutes before we could have the deposit returned to us, this is due to no reception, instead waiting on being seen by those busy with the changeover elsewhere on the site - we had intended getting away at 9am, but closer to 10am by the time the accommodation had been inspected prior to leaving."
Paul - Jan 1970
"Had a brilliant time"
Karen - Jan 1970
"A nice little break away from home."
Nicola - Jan 1970
"Had a great stay here. Bed a bit uncomfortable and a slight lack of privacy with the hot tub but apart from that no issues. Clean, modern and had everything we needed. Would book again."
James - Jul 2022
"Perfect in every way"
Barry - Jul 2022

"A fantastic lodge with a lovely hot tub, the perfect setting for our relaxed girly weekend! The lodge was clean and mostly well equipped - could do with more than 1 set of crockery and cutlery. Smart TV and dishwasher were great to have and the robes and slippers are a nice touch. Can't wait to come back!"
Stephanie - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodges, excellent customer service. Bill the owner was very pleasant and helpful if we had any issues. We did recommend he put more oven items in the kitchen.
