"The setter was not very comfortable but everything else was very good. All the facilities were clean the hot tub could have been a little cleaner as there was a fake tan scum around the top which stained our swimming costumes. We did like the locatin and the site staff were very helpful."

"Overall we had a fantastic time away, the hot was amazing. Perfect location as its only an hour away from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Lost a star because when we arrived there was no hand soap or hand towels and bath towels. That was a disappointment as we had to go and buy some. It didnt say anything on the website when I booked it so maybe you should warn customers to bring their own towels. Lovely cabin and easy to find and you can come and go as you please."

"The only thing I'd like to see on the accommodation is a gate on the ramp to keep dogs on the deck without having to tie them up. I managed to block the ramp using the table and my cool box. This would also give parents peace of mind keeping children on the deck.Great peaceful location!"

"It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. "Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "

"The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place. "

"Stayed here for a week from 15 to 22 July with our 2 mini daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed there stay making new friends in the village of thaxted. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it was the hottest days of the year so the water was coolled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming was nice to see there horses being taken to the fields each day you are on the flight path near stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes come in would definitely recommend "

Smoo Cave is a popular attraction which can be enjoyed all year round but visitors should wrap up warm during the winter months. This spectacular limestone sea-cave in Sutherland is the largest in Britain and is simply spectacular. The cave was formed by a burn that runs down into the rear chamber, as well as erosion caused by the sea. Guests can take the path from the car park which runs right through the cave. Boat trips are available in the summer months and are an excellent way to fully appreciate the cave from all angles.
