"We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, we really enjoyed our time there. The location is just perfect-so close to Hadrians Wall and Hexham, making it super easy to explore the area. The lodge itself was spotless, very well maintained and had everything we needed, including plenty of USB ports, a decent TV and reliable Wi-Fi. We didnt use the on-site facilities, so cant comment on those, but the peaceful surroundings made for a really relaxing break. One thing to mention is that the bathrooms could do with some extra storage for toiletries-there's nowhere to put toilet bags or personal bits, which was a bit of a pain. The twin bedroom was a little basic; no mirror, no shelves, or small dressing table, so doing hair or makeup was tricky. Also, more drawers wouldve been handy-one bedside cabinet between two beds isnt quite enough. The lighting was a bit awkward too-getting the main light on or off from the bed involved a stretch! Privacy blinds or curtains that let in a bit more light would be a good addition, as curtains made the room quite dark. That said, these are just tiny niggles. Wed definitely stay again because the location is just so convenient and the lodge was comfortable overall. Be careful with the speed bumps near reception-theyre pretty vicious, so take your time! Overall, a lovely spot and wed recommend it."

"Our Heathergate Boutique Holiday Park review: We had an amazing week at Alder Spa Lodge! The place was spotless and felt really spacious, with everything we could possibly need. The beds were so comfy, we slept like logs. The views were stunning-watching the sheep visit every day was such a bonus. The hot tub was a real highlight, big and super relaxing and the sauna and steam room added a nice touch. The staff were lovely, friendly and always ready to help. Its a perfect spot for families, loads of space for the little ones to play on the decking without any worries. Privacy was top-notch, we barely saw another soul all week. Honestly, it was totally worth every penny and were already planning to come back. Cant recommend it enough!"

"We had a really lovely stay at this place. The setting is so peaceful and private, yet the owners are super friendly and there if you need anything. The hot tub was such a treat after a long day of cycling! The only thing to mention is that the cottage is quite close to Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us too much once we got used to it, but its worth knowing if you're sensitive to sounds. Overall, a great place to relax!"

The only downside was the mattress in the main bedroom - felt every spring, which was a bit of a letdown for a place claiming five stars. Wouldnt stop us coming back though, especially during Christmas. We just didnt want to cause a fuss during the holidays!"

"We had such a lovely weekend getaway! The setting is truly serene, perfect for unwinding. The lodge was well-equipped and felt just like a home from home, which was great. We couldnt get over how spacious it was and those stunning views - really breathtaking. The kids were over the moon with the hot tub, spending ages in it, especially on the second night! We took a walk into Hexham; its about 45 minutes downhill, easy to manage and only £7 in a taxi to get back up because of the hill. Honestly, wed recommend Heathergate Boutique Holiday Park to anyone needing a break from the busy hustle. Definitely planning to return soon!"

Lovely field view from our balcony, enjoyed the wild life, glorious sunsets, hot tub. happy to stay here, relaxing, quiet. but if want bit more then, 5/10 mins from Hexham town centre, shops, takeaways etc. 10 mins from A66, 30-45 mins into Newcastle and other places on Northeast coast. Accommodation was clean, almost new, light and airy.
