Wyke Lodges Reviews

"From the moment we arrived, the staff went out of their way to help us settle in and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The views from the lodge are absolutely stunning, really a highlight. One minor thing Id suggest is adding blinds to the patio doors - itd be handy to block out the sun sometimes, even if it does block a tiny bit of the view. Overall, a lovely place to stay!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"So comfy home form home we had a week stay loved it so friendly nothing is to much to ask we had everything we needed highly recommended staying hear cant wait to book again"
Verified Guest - Feb 2025
"We had such a lovely stay! The lodges are fresh and beautifully designed, really modern inside. The big windows and doors open up to stunning views of Roseberry Topping, which was a real highlight. The hot tub was a nice touch-so relaxing after a day out. Everything was spotless and well-equipped, making our break super comfortable. Honestly, wed definitely recommend Wyke Lodges and Travellers Rest to anyone looking for a nice getaway. Well be back!"
Jamie - Feb 2025
"We absolutely loved our stay at this cosy lodge! The location is spot on, with plenty of lovely walks nearby and stunning views of Roseberry Topping right from the site. The owners are super friendly and really helpful, which made everything even nicer. Only thing is, theres no freezer, just a fridge, so plan your ice needs accordingly. It would also be great if they added some blinds or curtains to the big front windows to make it more private at night. Overall though, a fantastic spot wed definitely come back to!"
Emily - Jan 2025
"Our Wyke Lodges review: Absolutely loved the lodge! It looked even better in person and had everything we could ask for. Great stay!"

Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"Overall pretty good, just some cobwebs on the lights and a missing bulb. No freezer, but we managed fine."
Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"Travellers Rest turned out to be perfect for us. The place was spotless, really comfy and felt just like home. Plenty of room for our family of three and the dog, plus that hot tub was just brilliant! We loved it."

"We had an amazing stay! The lodge was spotless and fully equipped, making it super easy. The beds and sofa were comfy and the views were absolutely stunning. The hot tub was a real highlight too. Peaceful and relaxing!"
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"Overall, we had a decent stay. The place was clean and had everything we needed, even if there was a missing bulb in the dining room and some cobwebs up high. We didnt spot any on-site facilities, but the staff were really friendly and helpful. Being in a self-catering lodge suited us fine, so no complaints there!"
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"Absolutely loved our stay! The lodges were stunning and there was so much to explore nearby."
Emma - Aug 2024
"Beautiful place, very comfy and clean."
Jessica - Aug 2024
"We had a lovely stay at the lodge - so modern and spotless, it really felt like a home away from home. The hosts were super friendly and always ready to help out or give tips. Just a heads up about the beds - the pictures are a bit misleading, as its actually two doubles, not a double and singles. Still, no big deal for us!"
Emma - Aug 2024
"We recently stayed in lodge number 3, called Captain Cook, for five nights in July. From the moment we arrived, Denise and Jed made us feel really welcome, which was lovely. The lodge itself was spot-on - beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, offering an incredible view of Roseberry Topping, which we loved! We were really lucky with the weather too; it was sunny throughout our visit. We explored nearby spots like Whitby, Saltburn and Staithes - all within a short drive. Plus, walking along the Guisborough forest trail to a cosy cafe for brunch was a definite highlight. The whole area is stunning and wed definitely like to come back someday!"
Emily Carter - Jul 2024
"Looking forward to staying again next year!"
Rachel - Jul 2024

Emily Carter - May 2024
"We had such a lovely stay! The views are stunning and surprisingly, the main road noise doesnt reach the lodges at all. Everything inside is so well thought out - towels, dog bowls, even salt and pepper! Visiting with the kids and our dog was perfect. Weve already recommended it to loads of friends. Absolutely loved it!"
Emma - May 2024
"Convenient spot, great for exploring"

Flamingo Land - YO60 7EW
about 25 Miles
Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 25 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS

Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.

As well as exploring the castle visitors can enjoy attractios including the unique Land Train - the best way to see the entire park. There is also a large lake offering boat trips during the summer months. In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 32 Miles
If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost £46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.

This animal farm has all the cute farm animals you would expect to see and will appeal to younger children especially.  A great place to both play and learn we think the Betton Farm Visitor centre is great value for money.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.  Some of the highlights of the day might include meeting Sofie the Shetland Pony and Henry the goat, as well as the pot bellied pigs called Porky and Hammy.
