Pickering Lodges Reviews

"Very comfortable and great quality"
Emma - Mar 2025
"We booked a last-minute getaway at Levisham Lodge and had a decent stay. The place is a bit old-fashioned in its decor, but everything was very clean. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, even if it cooled down a bit by the end. We also enjoyed the meal at the on-site restaurant-definitely a relaxing trip overall."
Mark - Feb 2025
"We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were cosy, though the double was a bit tight for us. The hot tub was a great touch, checked daily, which was nice!"
Sarah - Jan 2025
"We had a really nice stay overall. The lodge had a few hiccups, but the team on site sorted them out quickly. Definitely thinking of returning someday!"

Emily - Feb 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! The location is lovely and the staff are super friendly. Would definitely return."
Emma - Feb 2024
"Weve stayed here twice now and honestly, its got some real potential but also a few things that could do with fixing. Our last visit was in Lodge 1, which is right next to the bar, so when there was a wedding on, the noise was pretty loud - boom boom boom till late. Normally, that wouldnt be a big deal, but I was feeling under the weather and ended up not sleeping much because of the noise. The lodge does have a lovely view over the lake, which is a real plus, but if youre like us and prefer peace and quiet, especially if you dont want to hear kids squealing, its not ideal since its right next to the play area. Not much of an issue in winter, but Id imagine its different in warmer months. The bed in the double room isnt very comfy and the lodge itself could do with a few tweaks. The fire wasnt working when we arrived and we were told it was being taken out, which was a bit disappointing. I also felt the cold even with the fire on full blast. Theres a spotlight in the bedroom hanging out of its socket and not working either. One toilet roll for three nights for four people isnt enough, though luckily I brought some from home. On the bright side, the hot tub was lovely and always warm enough and the reclining sofa was really comfy. The kitchen was well equipped, which was great. Spencers bar is a nice spot for a drink, though we didnt eat there so cant comment on the food. We paid for three nights since there was no two-night option, but due to feeling ill, we checked out early on Sunday morning - a bit of a waste of money for us. Our son and his girlfriend stayed a bit longer. We had hoped to visit the Black Bull pub at the end of the road again, as last time it was so cosy. Overall, its a nice lodge in a lovely setting, but a few little tweaks would really make it perfect and cosy."
Emma & Jake - Jan 2024
"We had a fantastic weekend here! It honestly felt like being at home, super relaxing. The food in the restaurant was top-notch; three of us enjoyed Sunday dinners and everyone agreed it was the best we've had in ages. Plus, the mixed grill was really lovely. Definitely recommend!"
Emma Clarke - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed it, will definitely return soon."
Alex Turner - Nov 2023
"Really good experience"
Alex Morgan - Nov 2023
"Great fun, would definitely do again"
Lucas - Aug 2020
"Really enjoyed the atmosphere here, perfect for families and even better with food delivery. Lovely!"
Claire - Aug 2020
"Loved the peace and quiet..Lodge really nice so clean too."
Jill - Aug 2022
"Lovely quiet area.Very well kept lodges."
Marilyn - Jul 2022
"Our lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. It's a great location for visiting the coast and the hot tub was lovely when we returned and was checked everyday The bar/reastaraunt was very nice and food was very good. The only think I would change to check the temperature of the water in the bathroom as it didnt get very hot,I meant to mention it to the reception but I forgot. We hope to return soon"
Fay and Keith - Jul 2022
"Lovely place would recommend for a little break away"
Adele - Jul 2022
"Fantastic location for exploring the N Y Moors and surrounding towns. Beautiful setting and well layed out lodges, perfectly clean on arrival, our dog friendly lodge was immaculate. 2 X pubs within 5 minute walk, reasonably priced."
Tony - Jun 2022
"We stayed in the grosmount lodge. It was our first family holiday and it was absolutely fantastic. The lodge over looks the lake which is a great view especially in the morning. There is a onsite pub and restaurant ran by the owner. There is a pub at the end of the lane that even has crazy golf (Black bull), a hotel and restaurant further down and a garden center cafe the oppersite way. Loads of places to eat in pickering and a lidl if you want to stay in and cook. The hot tub was very warm and great on a evening. Plenty of parking on site and the lodge was clean and comfortable. Tea towel, sponges, washing up liquid was provided. Great break away."
Sonya - Jun 2022
"the lodge was very clean & comftable love where it was easy for going to differant places will be going back very nice"
Linda - Jun 2022
"Great site, run by the owners, who are on-site the majority of the time. We stayed in the 1-bedroom Grosmont lodge, which was really lovely with a great hot tub and was well-equipped. It's located directly opposite the lake and we had daily visits from families of geese and ducks. Spencers pub on site was very pleasant and provides good food (big portions!) at a reasonable price. A few tiny issues: No loo roll supplied, but the owners soon rectified that. We struggled to shut the bathroom window, but this was reported and I'm sure will be sorted. Also, we couldn't seem to get the fridge as cold as we'd like - maybe this could be looked at? All in all, a really enjoyable and comfortable 4 night stay in a great central location for days out."
Linda - Jun 2022
"Fantastic holiday, great for a base and everything is around the area for good days out. Husband wants to go again next year."
Joanne - Jun 2022
"The lodges are lovely and clean, ideal location for exploring nearby villages and not far from coast."
Sheridan - Jun 2022
"Fantastic lodge with top class facilities and very clean. Each lodge very private but with easy access to lovely bar & grill for food and drink made it wonderfully relaxing. Would highly recommend and will be returning."
Vikki - Jun 2022
"Never been before, it was a great location to all the coast line. will go again."
Angela - Jun 2022
