Cayton Bay Reviews

"We stayed in a really spacious, extra-wide caravan that felt modern and well-equipped. The fridge freezer was a bonus and all beds were made on arrival, which was great after a long journey. The shower was surprisingly powerful and a good size-definitely a highlight! We love cooking, so having plenty of utensils and pans was perfect. Bedrooms were simple with wardrobes, though lacking drawers and some extra storage wouldve been handy. Our three-bed was cosy, with comfy mattresses and honestly, it was the best sleep weve had in ages!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Overall, we had a really nice stay. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. The only downside was the limited number of comfy chairs-just four for eight people. Still, the food was consistently tasty and served in generous portions, which we appreciated!"
David - Mar 2025
"Overall great holiday How ever downsides Hot tub not ready for use on arrival Some of the activities I booked prior to arrival were not on and no notice given just arrived to find out on the day Could of been a few more kitchen utilities For 6 people not enough trays Grill not working No number to call the booking hub Toilets by showbar nearly always needing a clean whatever time of day No easy access information on day time entertainment"
Sarah - Nov 2024
"Everything excellent however would have been nice to have a washing machine (this is not a flaw but would be a nice to have as this is what we would usually have on our caravan vacations) very comfortable"
Lisa - Oct 2024
"Our Cayton Bay review: The caravan was spotless when we arrived and looked really fresh. It had all the essentials, making it a great little base for our trip."
Emma - Sep 2024
"We stayed at the lodge recently and it was quite nice overall. The place looked a bit misleading in the description - saying two rooms have en-suites, but really it was just a Jack and Jill bathroom. When we arrived, it was a bit grubby with sticky floors and surfaces, but after giving it a quick wipe, it was more manageable. Not perfect, but decent enough for a short stay!"
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"The hot tub was a real hit with the kids!"
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, everything was just right, thank you!"
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"Honestly, the place wasnt as clean as we hoped. Worktops looked untouched, the shower was grim and there was no vacuum-just a brush and it didnt seem like it had been hoovered at all."
Emma - May 2024
"We had a fantastic experience with this van! The kitchen was fully equipped, including a washing machine and dishwasher, making life so much easier. The internet connection was always reliable, never dropping out. The van itself was immaculate, smelling fresh and spotless inside, which made it a real pleasure to step into. Highly recommend for anyone looking for comfort and convenience on the road!"
James - May 2024
"Really comfy bed, though some fitted sheets would be handy."
Emma Carter - Apr 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! The staff were friendly and welcoming, the caravan spotless and we felt well looked after throughout. Well definitely be returning. Cheers!"
James - Mar 2024
"Honestly, Clayton Bay really impressed us. Weve been to quite a few parks over the years, but this one stands out. The staff from the moment we booked to the bar and shop were all super friendly and polite, which makes such a difference. Parking was a breeze, no hauling suitcases for miles - plenty of space on-site. Our caravan was spotless and had everything we needed, which was great. We loved the variety of things to do nearby - three beaches just a short drive away! The on-site entertainment was definitely a highlight; the arcades were always well-kept and staffed and the pool was lovely and warm, with some fun activities you can book, though we just enjoyed a relaxing swim. Theres so much more to do - crazy golf, go-karts, arts and crafts, trampolining and climbing walls - all easily bookable via their website or at the booking hub. The kids activities were fantastic - from slime making and messy play to Paw Patrol and Poppy & Posy, plus a lively kiddy disco. The entertainers really knew how to keep the little ones engaged - Liam, Beth, Amelia, Matt and especially Matt, who really made our visit memorable. Prices for activities were pretty reasonable too. We also had some lovely meals at the on-site restaurant, which was always clean and child-friendly, with a soft play area that kept the kids entertained while we waited for our food. All in all, a brilliant break!"
Emma - Mar 2024
"The caravan was lovely, but the sofas low height made it tricky to get up easily. Still, overall, quite a nice stay!"
Emma Clarke - Mar 2024
"Overall, we had a really good stay in this caravan. Its got everything you need and more - honestly, we were surprised by how well stocked it was. The website doesnt really show all the extras, which is a shame because its a big selling point. There was a washing machine, hoover, ironing board, iron and even ottoman beds. Our caravan had a hot tub, which was lovely and the staff checked it daily. Only thing is, we couldnt find any instructions, so when we lifted the lid, it started losing heat pretty quickly. After about half an hour, it was down to 34 degrees and wouldnt warm back up until we closed the lid again. Weve never had a hot tub before, so were not sure if thats normal. The beds were decent, but new mattresses and protectors wouldve made it perfect. Still, overall, a really enjoyable experience!"
Harriet - Feb 2024
"We had a lovely stay at the lodge! The location was perfect and it was spotlessly clean overall. The pink chairs were a bit grubby when we got there and the cushions were missing, but they sorted it out quickly. No major complaints really!"
Sarah - Nov 2023
"Great spot, spacious lodge, super clean - wed absolutely come back for sure!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"We had a really nice stay at Cayton Bay. The caravan was spotless and quite comfy, which made relaxing easy. The staff were genuinely friendly and approachable and we even had a chat with the manager, who was both efficient and super helpful with tips on local attractions. The food at the onsite restaurant was tasty and served pretty quick, which was great after a day out. The entertainment was quite good too, even if some acts werent quite our thing. The sites facilities for families looked fantastic, even though we didnt need them. All in all, wed definitely recommend Cayton Bay for a fun, relaxing holiday!"
James - Nov 2023
"We had a pretty good stay overall. The static caravan was spotless, well-equipped and perfectly situated next to a fantastic surf beach - ideal for catching waves. The onsite activities like the high ropes course and mini-golf were real highlights; we didn't get around to trying the archery or other sports, but they looked fun. The onsite restaurant was a let-down though - quite pricey and the food wasnt great, so we skipped it after the first meal. A heads up: they no longer provide towels in the caravans, so bring your own for the beach and showers. Luckily, there's a big Morrisons about 5 minutes drive for your shopping needs. And Scarboroughs just down the road - a lovely place to visit, whether for boat trips or grabbing a bite. All in all, a decent spot with some nice extras!"
Ellie Roberts - Nov 2023
"Really impressed with the van, its the nicest Ive ever been in."
James Carter - Nov 2023
"We spent a week at the end of August and honestly, we had a really lovely time. The caravan was pretty spacious and had everything we needed, although we did have to ask for a frying pan as it wasnt there initially. The staff sorted it out quickly, so no worries there. The site itself was nice, but the prices for food and drinks were quite steep, so we ended up going to a nearby pub that was much more reasonable. The activity deal for £30 for five activities was a real bargain, especially since high ropes cost £13 each - we managed five goes! All in all, it was a great break, but the pricey food and drinks mean we probably wont be coming back, which is a bit of a shame."
Jamie - Nov 2023
"Great place, friendly staff, highly recommend!"
Emma Thompson - Nov 2023
"Honestly, our trip was pretty disappointing. The camp was a bit of a nightmare-no caravan we paid for and no veranda meant we felt a bit cheated. Parking was a hassle; we had to leave the car in a separate lot and haul all our luggage up a steep path. There was no outdoor seating either, which was a shame. Plus, for two days, there was no TV, which was quite frustrating. We got so fed up that we decided to cut our holiday short and head home early. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone our age-too many issues and lugging everything around was a real pain. Not happy at all!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"We recently moved into this place and overall, its pretty comfy and new. The staff around are really friendly and make you feel welcome, which is a plus. That said, we did have to spend about ten minutes re-cleaning the floors ourselves because it didnt seem like the cleaners had done a thorough job before we moved in-nothing major, but worth noting if youve got little ones who love to play on the floor. Some of the facilities seem a bit delicate, so a gentle touch is best. Also, the text phone service was a bit disappointing, as no one replied to our questions, which could be frustrating in an emergency. Still, we enjoyed our stay!"
Claire Johnson - Nov 2023
"Really comfy place, plenty of room for all eight of us and the veranda made our mornings special."
Charlotte - Jun 2023
"Nice place, would recommend it."
Martin - May 2023
"We had a great stay! The caravan was spotless and fully equipped, which made everything so much easier. The central heating was a lifesaver, especially in early May. Would definitely come back!"
David - May 2023
"Really enjoyed our time, will come back!"
Emma - May 2023
"While the stay was generally okay, we were quite let down by the lack of basic crockery like egg cups and toilet roll. No info on local area either."
Claire - Apr 2023
"The entertainment staff were awesome. They did the pirate pursuit despite the fact that it was only my three kids who were there. Big thanks to Matt and Mercedes for that. The activities staff were just as awesome. Particularly Tom and Neil. Tom for the sports and Neil for the high ropes and especially the Bear grylls survival academy which my son just loved every minute of. The Show bar at night was always very entertaining with Liam making every night funny without fail."
Steven - Aug 2022
"Nice place to stay. Caravan was clean and spacious"
Trevor - Jul 2022
"Lovely holiday park, we came here with our 7 children, aged 1,2,3,5,5 & 12 & 12 and there was something to keep all ages entertained. The elder ones loved the high ropes and were in the show bar every night. The indoor pool is great for all ages, especially good that they have a very shallow part for small children like we have. The only thing that would improve this holiday park would be an outside splash park!"
Danielle - Jul 2022
"The holiday was lovely, staff are very friendly and helpful, great with kids. Only downside is prices of the extra activities are steep (apart from high ropes as that is well worth the money) We never had a hoover in caravan so with 4 young kids it was a nightmare to tidy up after them, but we asked at reception and were given one so that was great. Also given a hairdryer on request as i had forgotten mine. We will definetly be back ?"
Amanda - Jul 2022
"We had the most amazing time, the caravan was very clean. The night time entertainment staff are absolutely fabulous! My 5 year old loved the kids disco/games. Everything on site is good value for money. The food is the restaurant is lovely and very reasonable."
Verified Guest - Jul 2022
"A great site with lots of facilities. Staff were very helpful. Our oven door had a problem and we called the out of hours number and it was fixed within 20mins! Highly recommended ?"
