Dacre Lakeside Park Reviews

"Chill place"
Stephen - Jun 2025
"Lovely break away. Reception staff were very welcoming when we arrived. Ideal for couples and families. There is activities around the park. We don't normally do holiday parks but smaller sites but the cabins are quite private and the site is quiet no loud music so we were able to chill and watch the wildlife. We were in a 1 bedroom lodge Dragonfly watersedge. Not ready to see dragon flies but saw a beautiful Kingfisher on a few occasions. Need to get up a bit early. The lodge had everything we needed and was lovely and clean. Some people might comment on the webs outside on the verandah but it is outside and wildlife and never impacted on our stay. Bed was very comfortable as this is the main thing for us. Had a good night's sleep. Take duck food there are some around. We are booked again for June to stay in Water Reed Watersedge 3 bedroom for a family break. Hope it is just as good this will be our 3rd stay at Dacre Lakeside Park."
Debra - May 2025
"I have never stayed with Hoseasons before but we had a brilliant time. The holiday park was lovely the staff were really friendly and helpful the lodge was well equipped and comfortable we would definitely go again"
June - May 2025
"Lovely lodge just a few bits need attention sofas bit out of date a bit low for us and the bathroom floor in the main shower room a bit spongy when walked on but apart from that we will be going to book again"

"We had a lovely time at Dacre Lakes. The lodge was extremely comfortable and the beds were beautifully comfy, which is a must for us to return to a place a second time. The area is gorgeous and there are lots of places to visit locally. The grounds of the lakes are beautifully kept. We could not have been happier."

Claire - Sep 2024
"We stayed at this lodge recently and really enjoyed the overall vibe. The place is well looked after and the facilities are pretty good. The beds were super comfy, which was a bonus, but we found the sofas a bit lacking - theyre not very high back and looked a bit saggy. The hot tub was fantastic, though it wouldve been nicer if it had some lights. The bathrooms were spot on and the outdoor and indoor seating was lovely, though some cushions wouldve made it even better. Definitely worth a visit!"
Martin - Sep 2024
"We recently spent a lovely family getaway at this place, staying in lodge 19. The lodge itself was huge, spotlessly clean and super comfortable, especially the beds and ensuite. It was so peaceful, we really appreciated the quiet atmosphere. The highlight for us was definitely the hot tub-such a treat after busy days! We didnt dine at the restaurant but ordered a takeaway pizza, which was fantastic-gluten-free with fresh dough and honestly, it was one of the best pizzas weve had in ages. The kids loved the wooden play area, perfect for their ages of 3 and 7. Watersports were a hit; my son and hubby enjoyed canoeing and cycling, which they both really enjoyed. We stumbled upon Fraisthorpe beach, which was a lovely surprise and had some great fish and chips in the village along with a shop that had everything you might need. We did notice the occasional sewage smell, but honestly, it wasnt bothersome since we were out most of the time. Overall, we had a fantastic break, especially during these weird times and were already planning to come back! Weve been telling everyone about it!"
Samir - Aug 2020
"We loved the peaceful spot by the pond and the lodge was spotless. Perfect for unwinding, we really enjoyed our relaxing week away."
Clara - Aug 2020
"The lodge had a bit of a weird smell outside, which was a bit off-putting at first. When I mentioned it, they said the gardener had used fertiliser. Still, overall, we had a great stay and would return!"
Alex - Aug 2020
"Honestly, we found the road noise wasn't really an issue for us at all. The shepherds hut was quite simple but absolutely charming, super clean and had everything we needed for a comfy stay. We decided to download some movies on our iPads for the evenings since there was no TV, which actually made the holiday even better - it encouraged us to enjoy the beautiful surroundings rather than just staring at a screen all the time! With Covid restrictions, most local attractions were only partly open, so we mainly stayed in and appreciated the peaceful setting. The highlight was definitely the Swedish-style hot tub overlooking the decking, jetty and lake - such a lovely touch. Wed love to come back someday. Thanks for a lovely break!"
Charlotte - Aug 2020
"Really enjoyed our chilled stay"
Sam - Jul 2020
"Looking forward to returning soon"
Oliver - Oct 2019
"We had a fab holiday. Kids enjoyed the ice cream shop & cafe Prices of activities were really good so we took advantage and especially enjoyed the golf & footgolf. Lovely Italian restaurant on site too - food was gorgeous!"
Lynn - Aug 2022
"Lovely relaxing holiday with lots to do on site. Friendly staff, the place has a laidback feel about it. Nice little village opposite with 2 pubs a Chinese, chip shop convenience store and newsagents."
Kerrie - Aug 2022
"Fantastic place to stay the staff are lovely. There are many things to do that they offer. I stayed in a shepherds hut it was fantastical. The only tiny downfall is there was nothing in the room to kill the flies or nothing to stop them from coming in and with having the door open and it being warm there was a lot coming in"
Sophie - Aug 2022
"Lovely lodge with a great hot-tub. Nice vibe on the site with beautiful views. The lodge overall wasn’t overly clean, with the veranda covered in cobwebs but as a group we could see past that. Overall great place."
Bryce - Jul 2022
"This was a lovely little place to have a break away. The Shepherd's Hut was lovely and really well appointed. The only gripe we really had was that the panel on the side of the bed was really uncomfortable when getting in and out of bed. The bed itself was lovely and comfortable. One suggestion we made at Reception was that part of the selling point of his break was the hottub (which was fab, by the way), the only issue was accessibility insofar as that the entrance steps to get into the hot tub were no good for my fiancee who had a knee replacement about six months ago, so sadly she couldn't use it which was a real shame. Perhaps some sort of steps and handrail up to the side of the hot tub could be adapted. Other than that we would definitely go back, but probably opt for a lodge next time."
Andy - Jul 2022
"Great week at dacre. Lodge was spotless inside & hot tub checked daily. Facilities on site were really good aswell. Great location close to beaches & local towns."
Lorraine - Jul 2022
"This place is amazing by far the best place we have stayed. Very peaceful, we went early July before the kids finished school. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of ducks that greet you when you open your cabin door, and lots of rabbits too. Lovely restaurant, bar and adventure golf. We had 3 lovely days kayaking on the lake from our own jetty which is something we have been searching for for ages. Already booked for next year along with my son and his girlfriend. Would highly recommend well worth the money."
Michael - Jul 2022
"Park was very pleasant, though sitting on veranda was spoilt by noise from nearby main road. Lodge was very comfortable but in need of updating. However a very enjoyable week enhanced by good weather."
