Fine Country Stays Reviews

"Honestly, the cabin was pretty snug, but its what youd expect for a weekend stay if you get a decent price-anything above £300 and Id look elsewhere. The bed was soft and a bit bouncy, not my favourite, but okay for a short break. We only had two chairs and no table inside, so we ended up using the outdoor table indoors, which was a bit awkward. The kitchens pretty basic-no oven, just a microwave in a cupboard with barely enough room to prep anything if youre using the two-ring hob. Toaster and kettle are also hidden away. The fridge is actually quite spacious. The hot tub was the highlight; it heated up well when the jets were on, unlike some others weve tried. Overall, its a decent spot if you find a good deal and dont mind the small space. We were about an hour from most places, which was fine."
James - Oct 2024
"We had a fantastic stay! The house was so well equipped and kept us cosy on that rainy December day - perfect! The bath was lovely and the shower was great too. Being near the flight path didnt bother us at all, honestly. Its in a quiet spot, ideal for dogs scared of fireworks. Such a beautiful, thoughtfully converted place. Thanks a lot!"
Emma - May 2025
"We had such a great weekend here! The place was perfect for what we needed and we really enjoyed our stay. Our dogs couldnt get enough of the underfloor heating and the garden - Luna even came home with a strained tail from wagging so much! Honestly, everyone was super happy, pups and us alike. Well definitely be coming back!"
James - May 2025
"The cottage was perfect for our trip, tucked away nicely from busy areas. The hot tub was a real treat and the owners were super friendly without being overbearing."
Mark - May 2025
"Our Fine Country Stays review: We had a fantastic time at this cosy cottage! The place is spotless and really well stocked - made our stay so easy. Loved the dog walks right outside and meeting Penelope the pig was a real highlight. The host was super friendly and quick to reply. Definitely coming back, great value and a proper little escape for us and the dogs!"
Alex - May 2025
"We had a fantastic stay at this lovely place, set in such a peaceful, private spot. The owners were super friendly and always ready to help if needed, but it still felt secluded. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day - so relaxing! One thing to keep in mind: its right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us too much after a while, but if youre sensitive to noise, its worth considering. Overall, wed definitely come back!"
Raj Patel - May 2025
"We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. Its set on a working farm but feels incredibly private, which was perfect for us. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are such lovely people, really friendly and welcoming. The place itself is quite spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed. The garden is lovely, dog-proof and has some nice furniture to relax on. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxteds eateries, like The Star and The Maypole, are well worth a visit. Wed definitely recommend it!"
Oliver - May 2025
"We had a lovely time staying here! Sharon and Robert really made us feel at home, which was much appreciated. The place was spotlessly clean, cosy and perfect for Archie with good security. The location was spot on, with loads of great walks and charming villages nearby-Thaxted is a real gem. We definitely left feeling relaxed and recharged after such a peaceful break. Would happily return!"
Emma - May 2025
"We spent a week here in mid-July with our two little Dachshunds and honestly, they loved every minute of it. Making new friends in the charming village of Thaxted was a real highlight. The cottage itself is lovely - the hot tub was definitely a bonus, especially during the scorching summer days; it was cool enough to be really refreshing. The hosts were super friendly and made us feel right at home. It was nice to see their dogs being taken to the fields each day. Plus, the proximity to Stansted meant we enjoyed watching the planes land. Wed happily recommend it!"
Jess - May 2025
"We had such a lovely time! The place is ideal if youre after some peace and quiet. Sharon and Robert really go above and beyond to make sure everythings perfect. Cant wait to return again soon!"
Emma - May 2025
"We had such a lovely stay! The cottage was spotless and well-equipped, perfect for relaxing. The hot tub was a real treat after long walks nearby. Quiet location but still close to the village. Honestly, wed definitely come back again!"

"We stayed at this charming cottage recently and honestly, we didnt need to bring much because its so well stocked. The welcome pack was a real help, covering everything from local menus to cottage info - really thoughtful touch. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs and they loved exploring it. The hot tub was the highlight, such a relaxing treat. Sharon and Rob were quick to reply if we had any questions, which made everything smooth. Thanks for a lovely break - well be back for sure!"
Alex - May 2025
