Home Farm Reviews

"Really enjoyed the peaceful vibe, perfect for a chill break."
James Carter - Mar 2025
"We stayed here in February and honestly, the whole experience was lovely. The lodge was spotless and really cosy, which made our stay even better. The kids had a blast watching the sheep grazing in the field every morning and the cats wandering by the windows added a nice touch of charm. Jen was super friendly and gave us some top tips for things to do in York. The location was perfect, just a short bus ride to the designer outlet and buses came quite frequently. The hot tub was a real highlight-so clean and perfect for unwinding. Wed definitely recommend it!"
Harriet - Mar 2025
"We just got back from an amazing week at Home Farm and honestly, it was fantastic. The cabin had everything we needed for a proper chill-out and the hot tub was such a treat - kept spotless every day, by the way. The beds and sofas were super comfy, making it easy to relax after days out. We loved cooking there too, with all the equipment and a barbecue on the veranda. Jen, the owner, was lovely and really knew her stuff about the area, always up for a chat. The wildlife was quite enchanting and catching a bus into York was a breeze. Cant wait to come back soon, it was just a lovely time. Thanks again, Jen!"
Emily - Mar 2025

Emma - Jun 2024
"We had a lovely stay at this cosy little chalet in the countryside. The shower was spot on-really perfect after a long day. Its not your typical busy site with all the facilities, but thats what made it special for us. Watching the cows in the field was a lovely touch. Perfect for a peaceful break and wed definitely come back if we visit the area again!"
Emma - Jun 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! Beds were comfy, warm and the jacuzzi was just fantastic. Would return!"
Emma Collins - Jun 2024
"Wow, what a lovely place! From the moment we arrived until we left after a week, we honestly couldnt find a single fault. The owner was so friendly and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, which made a big difference. The lodge itself was absolutely gorgeous-bright, spacious and really cosy. We stayed in the beech lodge with the hot tub and I have to say, it was spot on. The hot tub was checked daily and the water was always perfect and warm. We also gave the new BBQ a try and it cooked everything evenly-worked a treat. The kitchen was well equipped and the sofas were so comfy, we actually fell asleep on them a couple of times! Beds were all made up nicely on arrival and the mattress was super comfy-definitely slept well. The only downside for us was the shower; its quite tiny and a bit awkward to get into, but honestly, its a minor thing. We loved the farm cats visiting us at night-Tigger even jumped through the bathroom window and was waiting on the loo when we went in, which was hilarious! The location is perfect for visiting York and the nearby supermarket is handy. For a working farm and campsite, it was incredibly quiet, no noise at all. Well definitely be back soon. Thanks so much for a fantastic holiday!"
Emily - May 2024
"We really enjoyed our time at Beech Lodge! The place was super cosy, spotless and fully equipped for our needs. We spent a lovely evening unwinding in the hot tub, listening to owls and watching bats zip by-such a peaceful setting. Its also conveniently close-only about ten minutes drive to the York Designer Outlet, with a handy Park & Ride into the city. Cant wait to come back!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"Beautiful quiet spot with stunning countryside views, really loved it."
George - Apr 2024
"Great spot, super helpful hosts and its nice and quiet-perfect for a relaxing stay in York."
Charlotte - Mar 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, highly recommended!"
Emma - Feb 2024
"We keep returning because this lodge and site never disappoint us. Absolutely love it!"
Harper - Jan 2024
"We had such a lovely time at Home Farm! From the start, Jenny was so friendly and really looked after us. She reached out beforeh and about the flooding and road closures, which was super helpful and even arranged for our cabin to be ready earlier so we didnt have to drive in the dark. The cabin itself was spot on-really cosy and well equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub was a real highlight, kept perfectly clean and the views were stunning. The locations perfect too, just a short drive to York. Honestly, we didnt want to leave and will definitely be coming back!"
Emily - Jan 2024
"We've just finished our second stay at Ash Lodge and honestly, its perfect for a chill getaway. The place is spotless and super cosy. No hesitation, weve already booked for next year - cant wait!"
Emily Carter - Jan 2024
"We had a lovely stay overall, but there were a few bits that could be improved. The mattress in the big bedroom was a bit too soft and wobbly, so getting a decent sleep was tricky. A hairdryer and a socket near the mirrors wouldve been handy, especially for drying hair. The kitchen lighting was quite dim - we had to use a torch to read the oven dials! Also, a light on the Willow farm sign would help with directions at night because we kept missing the turn. Still, wed recommend it to friends and family!"
Alex - Dec 2023
"We had such a lovely weekend here! The lodge really had everything we needed and it was spotlessly clean. Waking up to views of the fields and sheep was just perfect, so peaceful. The hosts, Gordon and Jen, were genuinely lovely - super friendly and always willing to help. Gordon even gave us a lift to the bus stop one morning, which was a real kindness. Jen kept the hot tub spotless, cleaning it every day and she always had a moment to chat with my dad, which he really appreciated. The location is ideal for exploring York, with the bonus of coming back to a cosy lodge and unwinding in the hot tub. Would definitely come back!"
