The coast is just a short drive away so you could also have a day out at the beach or visit York, one of the most popular cities in the UK, offering plenty to see and do for the whole family. There are 3 different lodge types available at the Great Hatfield Lodges site which have 2 or 3 bedrooms and sleep up to 6 guests. They all have private hot tubs on the patio as well as outdoor seating so you can enjoy summer evenings outdoors eating, drinking and relaxing. One lodge type is dog-friendly so you can bring your pet dog to join on the holiday fun. Sleeping up to 6, these lodges are ideal for families or a group of friends to enjoy a relaxing break on the East Yorkshire Coast. There is plenty of outdoor space surrounding the lodges for guests to explore, perfect when visiting with a dog so they can explore the outdoors safely.
Located a short distance outside of Great Hatfield, guests can explore the local area easily. A short walk will lead them into the small village of Great Hatfield and a short drive will take them to the coast for a trip to the beach and eating fish and chips. A longer drive (around 30 minutes) will take you to York, a city packed full of history and attractions for all the family.

"We had such a lovely stay at this place! The secluded location really gives you a sense of peace, yet the owners are super friendly and helpful if you need anything. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling. One thing to keep in mind, the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us after a couple of hours, but if youre sensitive to noise, its worth considering. Overall, a great spot!"

"We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely charming and welcoming. The space inside is huge and the kitchen and bathroom are well-equipped - really appreciated the comfy bed too! The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and furnished nicely. Plenty of walks nearby and we loved exploring Thaxteds eateries like The Star and The Maypole. Overall, a place wed happily recommend!"

Itd be even better with some plastic drawers in the bathrooms for toiletries and an extra towel rail. Still, overall, a great spot for a staycation. Definitely recommend!"

A charity-run aquarium on the Humber Estuary with sharks, penguins, rays and Europe's deepest viewing tunnel.
The Deep is a public aquarium in Hull, overlooking the Humber Estuary where the River Hull meets it. Its Endless Ocean tank holds sharks, rays and northern Europe's only pair of green sawfish, and you can walk through Europe's deepest viewing tunnel or ride a glass lift through the water.
Tip: Check the daily talk times when you arrive and plan your visit around the shark and penguin talks. Use HU1 4DP or HU9 1TU for sat nav, which takes you to Tower Street.

Beverley Minster is the parish church of Saint John and Saint Martin in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire. It is one of the largest parish churches in the UK, bigger than a third of English cathedrals, and is regarded as a Gothic masterpiece.
Tip: Tours, including the Roof Tour, can be booked through the Minster's website. On Sunday mornings access is limited to the west end until services finish.

Seven centuries of European art, from medieval painting to modern work, in the heart of Hull.
The Ferens is one of the UK's finest art collections, housed in a Grade II listed building in Queen Victoria Square. The collection runs from late medieval painting through to sculpture and new media, with highlights from Lorenzetti, Frans Hals, Canaletto, Leighton, Stanley Spencer, Helen Chadwick and Gillian Wearing. Alongside the permanent displays there are changing exhibitions.
Tip: No need to book for a normal visit, but last admission is 30 minutes before closing and the café shuts an hour before the gallery.

An Elizabethan manor house with a games-themed walled garden, woodland walk and a Norman manor house next door.
Burton Agnes Hall is an Elizabethan manor house near Driffield, built in the early 1600s. Inside, the Long Gallery has a richly plastered ceiling, and many 17th-century fittings survive, including carved woodwork, plaster ceilings and an alabaster overmantel. Next door stands the Norman Manor House, first built in 1173. Both are Grade I listed, and the Hall is still a lived-in family home.
Tip: Book tickets online ahead if you can. Card payments only, as cash isn't accepted on site.
