"Overall, we had a lovely stay at the lodge. It was well-equipped and comfortable, with the hot tub being a real highlight. The only minor issue was the shortage of toilet rolls - with four of us, two rolls didnt quite cover it. Apart from that, everything was spot on and we genuinely enjoyed our time there. Would definitely recommend!"

"Our Cedar Retreats (formerly West Tanfield Lodges) review: Initially, we needed to do a quick clean when we arrived, but it was nothing serious. The cabin was spacious and really lovely. We had such a great time, its a shame to leave!"

Some furniture might need a refresh, but everything else was spot on - clean, functional and well-equipped with all the appliances. The heating was a bit unpredictable, but the place stayed cosy enough. Wed come back!"

"We chose this lodge mainly because of its peaceful location, tucked away from the busy spots, which we really appreciated. The set-up with two doubles and a twin suited our group perfectly. The kitchen had everything we needed and the hot tub, recently replaced, was a real treat. Just a little fencing around it for more privacy would be perfect!"

"We stayed at the lodge recently and could see some of the soft furnishings, especially the sofas, are a bit worn out and could do with replacing. The bathroom floors also need some attention, with blackened silicone seals and a few repairs. Overall, its still a lovely place, but its starting to look a little tired. With a few updates, itd be fantastic again!"

"Honestly, this was one of the nicest stays weve had in ages. From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth - parking was easy and checking in was quick and friendly. The lodge felt just like a home away from home, fully equipped with everything you could need to cook up a storm and relax. The hot tub was absolutely spot on - kept perfectly clean, hot and with the most stunning views to unwind with. We originally booked for a girls weekend, but the staffs helpfulness really blew us away, especially since our original booking was cancelled just five hours before check-in. Cedar Retreats really pulled out all the stops to save the day and were so grateful. Definitely coming back with the family soon. Thanks a million for making it special!"

"We had a lovely stay overall. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, which was really handy. The hot tub was definitely the highlight - we used it every day! The lodge was pretty clean, just a few cobwebs here and there. Though, finding a previous guests bathing suit in the bathroom did make us wonder if it was thoroughly cleaned before we arrived."

"We loved how central everything was - Leyburn, Thirsk, Knaresborough and the Arboretum were all easily reachable. The local pub, The Bruce, had really tasty food and a lovely vibe. The hot tub was definitely the best part - perfect for unwinding after a busy day exploring or shopping. Definitely recommend!"

"We stayed at Daleside Lodge and honestly, it ticked all the boxes. The rooms were huge and spotless, with comfy furniture. Parking was a breeze-plenty of space for two cars, which isnt always the case. The lodges are well spaced out too, so it feels private. Overall, really enjoyable!"

"We had a lovely stay at this lodge. The beds were really comfy and it had all the essentials for a relaxing holiday. The hot tub was a highlight, with stunning views of the fields - perfect for unwinding! The utensils provided were sufficient and the oven, though a bit loud when on, did the job. The only downside was the privacy fences - theyre quite see-through, so not much privacy there. Also, we had to do a quick sweep for spiders and webs, but thats just part of the charm in a rural setting. Overall, a peaceful spot thats definitely worth a visit!"

"Possibly the best lodge we have been too. It was absolutely immaculate and very spacious. The views over the lake are beautiful and the hot tub is large and is checked every day. Staff were friendly and the location is perfect for families. There’s so much to do within a 10 minute drive. We had a fantastic holiday and will definitely be back."
