Sandy Park Reviews

"We loved having everything at hand - the hot tub accessible straight from the bedroom was a real treat. The robes and slippers made it feel extra special!"
Barbara - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, staff were genuinely welcoming and helpful."
Alex - Mar 2025
"Great stay, will return"
Emma Parker - Mar 2025
"We had such a lovely time at this charming cabin! The hosts were genuinely warm and went out of their way to ensure we felt welcome. The place was spotless and super comfy, plus the info book was a real gem-made everything so much easier. Honestly, its a place wed happily return to. Highly recommend!"
Emma - Feb 2025
"Our Sandy Park review: We had a lovely stay! The cottage was peaceful and just a short stroll to the beach. Mark and Michelle were really friendly and helpful. We're already looking forward to returning in July to the stable cottage."
Emma Carter - Feb 2025
"Really enjoyed our visit, such a warm, welcoming place with friendly owners. Will return!"
Jessica - Feb 2025
"We really enjoyed the place! The hot tub was lovely after a day out and the instructions made everything super easy to follow. Highly recommend!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"We loved the stylish decor, especially the modern details that gave the place a fresh feel. The bed was super comfy and having Netflix and streaming services on the TV was a real bonus. The welcoming box of chocolates was a lovely touch and the view of Crimdon Beach first thing in the morning was simply stunning!"
Martin - Nov 2024
"I really enjoyed our stay, but a few things could be improved. Blinds or one-way glass on the doors would add privacy and some softer lighting over the cooking area would make it cosier. The main lights are a bit too harsh sometimes!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"We had such a lovely time at Sandy Park! Michelle and Mark went above and beyond, making sure the hot tub was ready every day and even lending us a metal detector for some beach fun with the kids. The cottage was just perfect for us and we enjoyed a great day trip to Saltburn-on-Sea. Honestly, we loved every moment and cant wait to come back. Thanks so much!"
Oliver - Oct 2024
"Great vibe, friendly staff, loved it"
Alex - Aug 2024
"Really enjoyed the stay"
Oliver - Apr 2024
"We had a lovely stay at this cabin! The location is perfect for exploring the stunning local scenery - really easy to get around and see everything. The place itself was well equipped, so we never felt like we were missing anything and it was surprisingly warm in April, which was a relief. The bed is quite snug, but as shown in the photos, its cozy and comfy for a couple. One thing to mention is the hot tub. Its log-fired and they set it up for you free of charge, which is great. However, if you want to use it more than once, you do need to buy extra logs. During spring, youre constantly adding logs and tending to the fire if you want a warm soak - its not a huge hassle but something to be aware of. We booked this cabin mainly because of the hot tub and honestly, thats what made it stand out for us. It wouldve been nicer if the additional costs had been clearer upfront, rather than a bit of a surprise later on. Still, they werent too expensive, just a bit annoying. Mark was really helpful and friendly when he showed us round and explained everything. Overall, a very pleasant stay!"
Emily Carter - Apr 2024
"Great break, definitely worth trying out soon."
Emma Carter - Apr 2024
"The lodge was spot on, had everything we needed. Super clean and tidy. We were over the moon!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"Honestly, Mark and Michele really know how to make you feel at home. The Stable Cottage was spotless when we arrived and the hot tub at 39 degrees was just what we needed after a long day. The beach is only a quick stroll away and those ponies on-site? Such a lovely touch! Security was solid and theres loads to do nearby for everyone. Its super peaceful here, well definitely be back!"
James - Mar 2024
"We loved our stay at The Seagull pod! Despite being small, it had everything we needed and the private hot tub was definitely the best part. Perfect for a romantic getaway, really enjoyable!"
Oliver - Mar 2024
"We had a fantastic stay! The place was warm and cosy, just what we needed. Loved the slippers, robe and the Prosecco-really thoughtful touches. Perfect spot for a birthday weekend getaway, highly recommend!"
Emily Carter - Mar 2024
"Honestly, we had a great weekend! Mike and Michelle really made sure everything was perfect for us - they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The hot tub was already heated when we arrived, which was a lovely touch and our room was spotless and cosy. We loved the location - perfect for a peaceful walk along the beach and exploring Crimdon Dene Natural Reserve. The facilities are well-equipped; its clear theyve thought of everything for a relaxing stay. Were already planning to return to the Boat House because we just didnt want to leave. Highly recommend if youre after a chilled break, dont hesitate to book!"
Jess - Feb 2024
"We stayed for a couple of nights in February and it was really lovely. The owners being right there made everything smooth and welcoming. Definitely recommend and were already planning to come back!"
Emma - Feb 2024
"Great location right on the beach, loved it!"
Emma Carter - Jan 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is so peaceful and beautifully kept. The owners are genuinely lovely and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The cottage was spotless and cosy, with comfy beds and a nice sofa. Only thing is, the floors arent carpeted, so a rug would have been perfect for colder days, but it didnt spoil our trip at all!"
Emma - Jan 2024
"We had such a great time staying here! The owners are genuinely lovely and really care about making your stay enjoyable - the hot tub was all set up when we arrived, which was perfect. Its only a short walk to the beach and not far from town. Well definitely be coming back for sure!"
Emma Carter - Jan 2024
"We had a fantastic New Year stay! The setting was stunning, the hot tub was just perfect and the pod exceeded all expectations. Thanks so much!"

James - Nov 2023
"We had a fantastic time at Sandy Bay, Crimdon. Michelle and Mark are really welcoming hosts and everything was spotless. The beach is so close - cant wait to visit the Pod next time!"

Jodie - Jul 2022
"Lovely area peaceful the owners couldn’t do enough for you the pods are lovely and the hot tub"
Nicola - Jun 2022
"We had a lovely relaxing break. It should be known you have to purchase more logs in order to use the hot tub before arrival."
Emily - Jun 2022
"We had an amazing stay here!!! Literally the surrounding the place the people were just amazing!!! I will definitely come back… only thing would be, for the lodge with the dog is maybe a little fence around so when your in the hot tub the dog can be out with you but other than that!!! It’s was incredible, I can’t wait to see this place again for a quiet holiday by the beach, super friendly, me and my girlfriend love it and of course little lady loved it to ??"
Jessica - Jun 2022
"Boat house, is Ideally located right on the Beach just a 2 minutes walk. Suitable for 2 people who want a Relaxing Break Away with Easy to use Log Burning Hot Tub which was cleaned Every Morning while we were there. Also comes with picnic Bench and BBQ Which is all in your own private Area. Would suggest Reading previous Reviews which we did as there is no Wardrobe space or cooker but you do get microwave, toaster, fridge freezer and little Hot Plate. Would Thoroughly recommend for a Couples Break Away. Hopefully we will be Returning Back Next Year."
Gary - Jun 2022
"I would highly recommend this destination. Mark and Michelle are fantastic hosts and couldn't have been more helpful. The lodge was beautifully presented and the welcoming bottle of prosecco was much appreciated. Ideal for dogs. Great hot tub. We will be returning. John & Lisa, Manchester."
John - Jun 2022
"Absolutely beautiful! Would definitely visit again - super close to the beach, plenty of shops and restaurants close by too"
Sam - Jun 2022
"Me and my husband stayed at this wonderful accommodation for 2 nights. The host Michelle was so lovely. Very friendly welcome. The room itself was immaculate, spacious and very luxurious. The hot tub was set up great, temperature was spot on. We used the log fire that was included. On day two before we got up the hot tub was reset up for us. The views were spectacular! We will definitely be returning here in the very near future."
Samantha - Jun 2022
"Absolutely stunning. 10/10 would recommend and absolutely would go back. Set in a beautiful location right by the beach, so peaceful too. The hosts were very friendly and happy to help if we needed it."
Abi - May 2022
"Had a fab few days there . . 2mins from beautiful beach. Great facilities eg BBQ, garden furniture and fab hot tub. Can't wait to go back again ???"
Karen - May 2022
"Great location and facilities. Will definitely be back."
Andrew - Apr 2022
"We had a fabulous short break at the boat house! Would definitely recommend! Location right on the beach which makes a lovely walk. Distance to pubs and restaurants are a taxi or a drive a way. Wood burning hot tub was beautiful and mark & Michelle were nothing but helpful and were just a text away if we needed anything"
Ruby - Apr 2022
"Just had 2 nights away as a couple with my dog. The place is amazing and absolutely spotless, perfe t size and has everything you could possibly need. Its totally peaceful and less than a 5 minute walk to a fantastic clean beach. The log fire hot tub was gorgeous and we used it every night, the hosts couldn't have been any better, friendly and helpful when needed but kept put the way to give you space and privacy the rest of the time. Treats for the dog was left and a bottle of sparkling fizz for the adults. Lots of retail parks, beaches, shops, nature reserve, restaurant and marina all within 10 minite drive. We will definitely be back"

Attractions Near Sandy Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Sandy Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 33 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 34 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT
about 39 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS
about 39 Miles
Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.
