Green Meadows Country Park Reviews

"Had a good week at this site. But had to drive at least 2 to 3 miles for restaurants although you could cook in lodge but I am on holiday no cooking"
Marion - Apr 2024
"Lovely lodge and very well maintained hotel tub."
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"A fabulous site to stay, we will be back again. The site was clean and well maintained, all staff are very friendly and happy, the lodge was beautifully clean and had all necessary extras to start your holiday. It is a small site with minimal facilities on site i.e. no clubhouse etc. Making it the perfect place to get away and relax. There is a field for walking your four legged friends just at the entrance to the site which was an added bonus!"
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"Clean comfortable and very cosy accommodation. Decking all secure for your four legged friend."
Jill - Mar 2024
"This is our second stay at Green Meadows Country Park. We stayed in Lakeview Executive Pet Lodge 36. The Lodge was well equipped and plenty of space for 6 adults and a golden retriever. Sarah who was in charge of the rentals was extremely helpful and friendly all through our stay, nothing was a bother for her. We had a couple of niggles during our stay but nothing they could have controlled and she did everything in her power to resolve any issues. The WiFi provided in the Lodge was very hit and miss but we had prepared for this by bringing our own Mobile WiFi powered by o2 which was more reliable however it's nice that it's provided. We found the provided WiFi was best for just using the Smart TV and nothing else.We are looking to return to this park for a third time later this year because they are just a friendly bunch and it's a lovely place. The only thing that they could do better is have washing machines or access to washing machines on site. When you're staying for longer it's something that makes life easier and the bigger parks have in the Lodge or have a laundrette but this is just my preference and nothing against the park. I've stayed in the exact same type of Lodge with another holiday park provider and had a washing machine in the Lodge."
Matthew - Mar 2024
"The best type of lodge we have stayed in, at Green Meadows. All are great but this type is out of this world."
Luke - Mar 2024
"Lovely interior but lacking in kitchen utensils."

Robert - Feb 2024
"Brilliant spacious and well equipped Lodge. Perfect for us to see in 2024! The sunken hot tub was amazing after a long walk. Just slight teething problem with the Thermostat on the heating but everything else perfect.Would highly recommend!"
Lynne - Jan 2024
"Lodge was lovely. Only wished the weather was better to enjoy the hottub but this is UK weather ????Becare with main bathroom shower it shoots up and soaks everything. Cooker didn't get very hot . But they are just things that can be fixed easily. Would recommend x"
Tina - Dec 2023
"Would highly recommend this place. It is in a lovely location and their lodges are stunning"
Lesley - Nov 2023
"Great, lodge perfectly in a lovely location"
David - Nov 2023
"Cabin was perfect for a relaxing weekend."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Immaculate."
Della - Nov 2023
"Amazing weekend at this site, lodge was spotless. Only couple of improvement I would recommend would be a couple of table lamps in the lounge area and twin bedroom as we had to have the ceiling lights on all the time at night ( but thats just a personal preference) and if the waste area had better lighting especially now the clocks have changed as it advertised you can recycle between 8am and 8pm ??.Possibly a gate on the dog walking around would be great ????"
Emma - Nov 2023
"We had a lovely break at Green Meadows. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The van was spotless and had everything we needed during our stay. We all loved our mini break. Will definitely be back!"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023

Verified Guest - Sep 2023
"Lovely clean accommodation in a great location."
Claire - Jan 1970
"A stunning modern lodge with everything you need.
Hoping to return again soon."
Marie - Jan 1970
"The country park is alittle misleading as it was just a field, was expecting more of a park with walking routes nearby. Was greeted by Sandra who was lovely and made us feel very welcomed. Very close to shops and only a 5mins drive away. Lodge was very mordern and clean and came well equipped with everything you could need and the hottub was brilliant. Was a very quiet park and would happily return"
Rebecca - Jan 1970
"Lodge was clean and tidy plus enough room to relax and sunken hot tub was excellent."
David - Jan 1970
"What a beautiful lodge! From the minute we stepped in we couldnt believe how beautiful it was! Absolute top class of everything from soft furnishing to kitchen equipment. Location was great for local amenities along with 4 miles to Carlisle centre and a short drive from the coast and many historic attractions. Our host was always on hand for any questions and the park was clean, quiet and really well kept! 10/10 for us! Will be back"
Danya - Jan 1970
"Well needed break, made by a superb lodge and lovely hot tub"
Darren - Jan 1970
"Beautiful lodge and extremely clean"
Susan - Jan 1970
"A lovely new lodge with all the home comforts you need for a family self catering holiday.

Kitchen was well stocked with all the tools and gadgets you would need.

The lodge was very clean.

Bath robes were a lovely touch and available on request from Sandra, the lovely owner.

The location was great for Scotland, the North lakes and even Newcastle if you fancied a bit of a drive. We went to Hadrians Wall, the Angel of the North, Gretna Green, Silloth (seaside town), Lake District Wildlife park and rally made the most of our UK holiday.

The local Asda is a stones throw away... less than 5 mins in car.

Fabulous base- would recommend."
Zoe - Jan 1970
"We had a fantastic weekend at this site. The place was stunning and very clean. Had everything we needed and was like a home from home. I will definitely return. Thank you."
Lisa - Jan 1970
"Wonderful site, great location.

Joanna - Jan 1970

"Lodge was brand new, beautiful and modern, hot tub fabulous, beds were super comfy and the staff were helpful and friendly. Carlisle is only a short drive away, city is fab with lots of great shops and restaurants."
Leanne - Jul 2022
"We had a lovely weekend at Green Meadows Country Park in the Lakewood VIP Pet Lodge. The lodge was gorgeous, so modern and clean considering it was a pet lodge! The hot tub was a great addition and the water fountain at the front of the lodge made it very relaxing. Would highly recommend:)"
Miah - Jul 2022
"I would 100% recommend this park. Absolutely spotless caravan. Hot tub maintained daily. Complimentary bath robes, slippers, towels and a lovely bottle of cava on arrival. Cannot wait to go back"
Sharon - Jul 2022
"Beautiful and spotless lodge, super friendly staff. Great central location. Will definitely be back!"
Alyson - Jul 2022
"Very lovely holiday park and lodge. Staff were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. As the lodge was so new, there were a couple of things that needed sorting, but nothing that made our time any less enjoyable. Would definitely go back!!"
Lauren - Jul 2022
"We arrived later than planned to discover that the van we booked had been given to someone else But after a bit of time we were given another one no problem. The lodge was fine but felt there could have been a bit more facilities on site such as convenience shop, play park for kids and maybe a restaurant as you really had to drive into carlisle to get anything and better signposted from motorway The lodge could have had more hooks for hanging things back of bedroom door didn’t have any Apart from that good"
Catrina - Jul 2022
"Lovely environment, super clean and modern! Alison was very accommodating and a lovely welcoming Lady x"
Michelle - Jul 2022
"Fantastic lodge had everything that we needed. It a exceed our expectations lovely and clean and amazing hot tub. Can't wait to come back."

Attractions Near Green Meadows Country Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Green Meadows Country Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 3 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 21 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 22 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 28 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 28 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 34 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 39 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ
about 39 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
