Gadgirth Estate Lodges Reviews

"Perfect lodge for two people. Very cosy and comfortable."
Gael - Apr 2024
"Great lodge, really comfortable, nice views to the river from the decking and hot tub. Plently of space for our family of 5. Lots of nice touches, welcome pack, toiletries etc. we really enjoyed our break here and would recommend and book again in the future."
Jaclyn - Apr 2024
"Beautiful lodge, lovely furnishings, comfortable beds with choice of firm or soft pillows. Very clean."
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"We have just returned from a 7 night stay in the kingfisher Lodge. We received a lovely welcome on arrival and was shown to and around the lodge. During the week the hot tub was checked on daily. The lodge had everything we could need from cooking equipment to logs for the fire. There was plenty of towels the only thing I found was no slippers or dressing gowns for the hot tub which we have had at previous hot tub holidays, it made no difference we were fine without but would of packed them had I not known. Its dog friendly our pooch was keen to return to the lodge after our time out exploring. Culzean castle not far and well worth a visit. Tesco and morrisons were also about 15 mins away. The hot tub was just perfect if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay as the kingfisher lodge is right on the river. We would return here in a heartbeat what a lovely location."
Ceri - Mar 2024
"Great place to stay and loads to do around Ayr. Great view from the lodge next to the river, trees and wildlife. Seen the grey heron, lots of birds very peaceful and relaxing place to be. Would definitely recommend Gadgirth for a relaxing and peaceful place to stay."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Our second stay at Holly lodge. The lodge itself is beautiful. Very well kept, very clean and has all you need and more facility wise."
Karen - Mar 2024
"Beautiful location with an amazing lodge which has fantastic facilities, is very clean and spacious, endless supply of wood burner logs and it was a lovely touch to have a welcome food package. Would definitely recommend."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Again absolutely perfect will definitely visit again and again"
Gary - Mar 2024
"Very beautiful surroundings,staff excellent,facilities amazing"

Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Great location and lodge super comfortable excellent fittings and equipment So relaxing and chilled can't wait to go back"
Dereck - Jan 2024
"Excellent from start to finish. The owner/manager very friendly and the tour was quick but informative and not overbearing. The facilities are great, bed very comfortable as is the couch. The fire is the perfect addition for the cold months. Its also a bonus the wood is free as other places do charge. We had the fire on every night. Hot tub stayed warmer than other lodges weve been to. We will be back in September"
Lee - Jan 2024
"Loved our stay at the Apple Lodge, everything we needed for a short relaxing breakaway. Nice site only a few other lodges, friendly and welcoming, nice welcome pack in the Lodge on arrival. It was lovely having the Hot tub, which was very clean, need to bring your towels or robe, only personal towels for showering are available in Lodge. The wood burner was great logs provided at no extra cost, lovely and cozy as it was very cold. Near amenities and easy to get to, would visit again."
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Place was so lovely we have booked up again to try one of the bigger lodges. Value for money is insane. Had the best time ever. Looking forward to coming back."
Lewis - Jan 2024
"What a fantastic place! Modern accommodation and had everything we needed that we could have comfortably not left all weekend. However Ayr Town center was 10 mins drive away for things to do and shops when required. Hot tub was amazing and the views out over the river were to die for! Great value for money especially with comparisons to other places visited in the past. Was already looking at booking again before leaving."
Emma - Dec 2023
"Loved the woodcutters lodge, would move into something just like it in a heart beat. Some areas of the lodge were not spotless on arrival but wasnt too much of an issue."
Verified Guest - Dec 2023
"Absolutely perfect"
Shona - Nov 2023
"Loved our lodge it was stunning and decorated very well, very comfortable. Was well equipped even had dish washer and washing machine. Place was spotless and had fabulous underfloor heating. Would 100% book this lodge again"
Lynsey - Nov 2023
"Fantastic holiday. Plenty of sunshine. Just what was needed."
Dawn - Jan 1970
"After our honeymoon abroad was cancelled so we booked Gadgirth last minute, we were the first people to stop in the Woodcutter Lodge which was newly built. Karen & Iain were great hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. The hamper on arrival is a great touch, fresh bread, eggs, milk and snacks went down a treat! The lodges are very well equipped and have everything you could think of. We will definitely remember our honeymoon even though it wasnt our original destination and would love to return in the future."
Robert - Jan 1970
"Loved the hot tub position looking down the river"
Gilian - Jan 1970
"Wonderful lodge right next to the River Ayr, attention to detail in decor was fantastic and by far the best lodge we've stayed in."
Steve - Jan 1970
"Very nice lodge, view of river from lodge decking was superb hot tub great everything worked (for a change) only one thing ,could be a little bit more privacy all hot tubs on site were very open. Lodge was very high spec, lovely touch very well stocked welcome basket. Nice and quiet but within touch of lots of beautiful areas of Scotland would definitely go back again.10 out of 10 to the people that run the site."
Paul - Jan 1970
"We had the best weekend here, catching up with old friends after lockdown.
Spent the entire weekend in the hot tub, it was bliss.
Stayed in Holly Lodge, which was stunning. The staff checked and cleaned/maintained the hot tub every morning.
We're already trying to organise another weekend here in a few months.
The barbecue hut looked great too.

The only "complaint" we have is that the lodge was so well supplied that we brought too much with us! There was bread, kitchen roll, plenty toilet roll etc, so it would be great if a list of what would be there on arrival could be added to the details on the website."
Vicky - Jan 1970
"Lovely lodge only thing missing is somewhere to hang your wet Jackets and a coffee table were you can put your drink on while sitting on the couch"
Catriona - Jan 1970
"Very warm welcoming from all staff. The lodge was spotless with added essential extras! Would definitely stay here again!"
Paul - Jan 1970
"Loved Woodcutters lodge, it was ideal for the three of us, and the hot tub was great with loads of stars to see. Stocked with everything you could require, wifi was good, and as so few lodges site was really quiet. Only constructive criticism we hope the owners wont mind, is some storage, even just some drawers, is needed upstairs as had to go to our sons room for everything and a mirror is needed in the upstairs bathroom if we were to nitpick. Thank you for a fab weekend break."
Lorraine - Jan 1970
"I had such a fabulous weekend, it felt like a two week holiday. The lodge is fabulous and super-equipped! The lodges are situated in the most gorgeous location. I am homesick already and will be back!"
Caroline - Jan 1970
"Can't recommend Kingfisher view highly enough! Blissful location, brilliant amenities and helpful staff! Crazy value for money. Great weekend was had by our group!"
Neil - Jan 1970
"Had a fantastic time at the kingfisher lodge. Equipped with every single thing you could possibly need for your stay, along with a very handy welcome pack. A few walking routes and facing on to the river whilst relaxing in the hot tub was just what was needed. Enterkine house not too far away if going out for some food. BBQ hut looks lovely although we didn't use this. Grounds are gorgeous and staff where helpful. WiFi is really bad and only 1 phone from our party would connect the rest had no reception at all. Overall a fantastic stay and would highly recommend."
Stephanie - Jan 1970
"Had an excellent, quiet, peaceful weekend break at Gadgirth estate lodges. Memorable occasion was going down to the decking area overlooking the River Ayr with our morning coffee cups and enjoying the view over the river."
Frank - Aug 2022
"Excellent facilities and would definitely return. My only criticism is the size of the shower in the Holly Lodge. There is a separate bath, however if showers are preferred the shower is very tight. Apart from this everything was excellent and all the little extras were very much appreciated including a lovely welcome basket. The wood burner a fab added bonus too We would return Summer or Winter. The owner was very friendly and welcoming too. Also interesting nearby activities, we enjoyed Culzean Castle,(lots on the grounds too including a fab woodland playpark) Robert Burns Museum (fab playpark included here too) and his Cottage. We also visited Rozelle Park and galleries. Fantastic short break?"
Mary - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodge in a beautiful setting. Barbecue hut and hot tubs are brilliant. You need to be prepared to drive to go anywhere even out walking to explore the countryside and the WiFi is poor. Neither of these points are bad but just useful to know in advance I think. Highly recommended for a few nights of R&R."
Dalene - Jul 2022
"We had a fantastic holiday in Kingfisher View. Son took his fishing rod and although he didn't catch anything he enjoyed being right on the river. Staff were lovely. Surroundings so peaceful and wildlife spotting was fab too. We will def be back."
Kirsty - Jul 2022
"Very quiet area with not in much to do, so dont use unless your prepaired to get on your bike, walk, or car to look for something opther than poor peace and quiet. Hot tubs good and cleaned every day by staff. Villa are excellent, well maintained and furnished. We had a couple of issues which were sorted out quickly. My family live in this area so suited us."
May - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodge just a wee bit too remote if not wanting to drive"
Tracey - Jul 2022
"Outstanding! Perfect place if you just want to switch off and relax. Stayed with husband and 2 young children. Ayr town 15 minutes in car."
Kirsty - Jul 2022
"This place was beautiful, had a great stay. Staff were helpful and very clean. Beautiful touch with the welcome back. Would recommend this place to anyone. Great location to travel around Scotland"
Amy - Jul 2022
"Loved it here . What an amazing hideaway . I went with my four sisters for my seventieth birthday as I was born in the village nearby . The wonderful roomy lodge was right by the river with otters swimming by , squirrels chasing in the trees , owls hooting Then the hot tub . What a treat . We will all be going back I hope"
Janis - Jul 2022
"The location, cabin and welcome totally blew us away! We absolutely loved it and we are already planning our next trip back!"
Joanne - Jun 2022
"Beautiful riverside location and the site was immaculate and really well maintained by the owners who clearly have a lot of pride about the site. The interior of the lodge was stunning and had everything we needed. It was near to all the local places to visit as well, most places within 30 mins drive. We would certainly recommend it!"
Joanne - Jun 2022
"Stunning lodge, perfect getaway for some chill time. 10 out of 10 for me. I’d highly recommend."
