Bluewood Lodges Reviews

"We recently spent a really relaxing weekend celebrating my partners 40th birthday. The location is spot on-close to Chipping Norton, Bourton-on-the-Water and of course, Diddly Squat Farm. Plenty of lovely spots to explore nearby and coming back to the hot tub was definitely the highlight. Well be coming back for sure!"
Oliver - Mar 2025

"Weve just finished our third visit to Bluewood Lodges and honestly, its becoming a favourite getaway spot. The quiet location in the Cotswolds is perfect for unwinding and being close to Chipping Norton and Stow means plenty of nice shops and cafes to explore. Its really ideal for a relaxing break. Definitely recommend it to anyone needing a peaceful escape!"

Emma - Oct 2024
"Perfect getaway, wed love to come back soon."

"Weve stayed at No22 a few times now and its always been a great experience. The lodge is cosy, clean and perfect for what we need. Thanks again!"
Emma Roberts - Oct 2024
"We honestly loved our stay here! The lodge was spotless and super comfy - perfect for a cosy getaway. The surroundings are just stunning, so peaceful and calming. The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to help. Well definitely be returning, probably for a longer visit next time. Totally recommended!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"Weve stayed here for three years now and its honestly a lovely place. The lodge is really comfortable, nestled in a great spot within the park and its got everything we could ask for. Would definitely recommend!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was spotless and had all the essentials we could ask for. The only thing wed suggest is adding a second pillow per bed in the twin rooms, just to make it perfect."
Rachel - Oct 2024
"Overall, the place was pretty decent. All the fixtures seemed fine, though our hot tub was missing some lights and had a few loose fittings. Nothing too major, really."
Rachel - Oct 2024
"Great stay, very relaxing, will definitely return. Highly recommend!"
Emma Roberts - Oct 2024
"We had such a lovely break! The lodge was really spacious and spotlessly clean, with everything we needed for a relaxing time. The peacefulness of the site was perfect and that private hot tub was a real highlight. The view of the countryside from the lodge was stunning. Only small thing was a couple of stains on the rug, but it didnt spoil our stay at all. Well definitely be back!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely lodge. The location is fantastic and parking right next to the lodge is super handy. The place was well kept, though a few bits of decor could do with a refresh, but it wasnt a big deal. The kitchen had everything we needed and the utility area was a great extra. Wed definitely come back!"
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"Great spot for sightseeing, plenty to do nearby!"
Rachel - Sep 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! The location was spot on and everything was thought of to make our visit truly memorable. Well be back for sure!"
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"We had a fantastic stay! The location was perfect for exploring and the check-in was smooth. The folder with all the info-emergency contacts, local sights, restaurants-made everything so much easier. Definitely recommend!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"Great experience, would recommend it!"
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"Our stay at Romeo Lodge was fantastic. The place was spotless and roomy, with the sauna and hot tub being highlights. Very tranquil environment and staff couldnt have been more helpful. Were already planning our next visit!"
Emma - Aug 2024
"We loved this little park! Its quite small, so it feels cosy and peaceful, which was perfect for us. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble - they were happy to answer our questions and help out whenever needed. The site itself was spotless and clearly well looked after; we appreciated seeing the ongoing maintenance and improvements, like the new lodges. We didnt hear a peep from the building work and the lodges looked stunning! Only a couple of tiny things - the pillows were a bit past their best, so they were quite lumpy and some basic supplies like bin bags and extra toilet rolls in the lodge wouldve been handy. Overall, a fantastic stay, great location and wed definitely come back!"
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"Not the worst, but definitely not the best."
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"The lodge was nicely arranged with a decent selection of amenities. Beds were a bit tiny and some parts of the floor needed repair, but overall okay."
Emma - Aug 2024
"We stayed in a charming cabin that was spotless when we arrived and you could definitely tell they'd used fresh cleaning products, especially in the fridge. There were some lovely little touches throughout, which made it feel cosy. It was great value for what we paid. The only thing was the hot tubs features werent all working, but we still had fun using it anyway!"
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"Beautiful place amazing holiday hot tub is the cherry on the lodge shaped cake"
Kieran - Aug 2022
"A new lodge for 2022 with a great view and clean and modern. Hot tub was clean and topped up daily. It was possibly over chlorinated (I own a hot tub) as it was strong smelling and the cover inside shows deterioration. Check in was busy but a welcome spritzer was lovely. We didn’t get our free bottle of Prosecco until we checked out (we were not the only ones). All staff really friendly and helpful. We did make them aware our patio door wasn’t locking which was a concern when sleeping and being out and this wasn’t rectified. Could be 5* but for us the mattress was 2*. Although accommodation for 2, outside guests were allowed to visit, it would be better to have a table with 4 chairs instead of 2 chairs to eat/play games etc. The ‘welcome pack’ was too corporate ie Travelodge etc with UHT small milk pods, packets of coffee, individual packaged tea bags - a much more select local produce for example fresh bread, butter, jams, fresh pint of milk in fridge, biscuits, homemade cake etc would be excellent as I’ve had this many times before in other establishments. I would recommend Bluewood Lodges."
Jacqueline - Aug 2022
"A really lovely place to stay. Amazing lodge. Modern and spacious. Immaculately clean. Like brand new. Peaceful and relaxing with amazing views across the countryside. Everything you could need for a self catering holiday. The hot tub was so good especially with a glass of bubbly from the complimentary bottle that we received for booking between June and August. Staff were friendly and professional. We had one little problem with the lock on the patio door but we rang the number in the folder and someone came out and sorted it immediately. It is in an ideal location for exploring all the beautiful Cotswold towns and villages. Really couldn’t find fault with anything about the holiday. I would totally recommend it."
Rosemary - Aug 2022
"We stayed in the sunset lodge for a long weekend and had a great time. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the lodge was excellent. The only thing that doesn’t make it a 10/10 for us is that some of the supplies were lacking e.g. only 1 chopping board, no oven gloves, no salt and pepper, only provided 1 dishwasher tablet for the whole weekend. We had to pop out to the shop to get salt and pepper and a bag of dishwasher tablets which was not a big deal but these are basics we would expect to have included at this price level."
Charlotte - Aug 2022
"Lovely lodge. Lots of space and decorated well."
Paula - Jul 2022
"Absolutely enjoyed our holiday at Bluewood Lodges. The Duet lodge was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was great , if you just wanted a quiet day to chill then that's what you got but there were plenty of places to visit, just a short distance if you wanted a day out. The staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. Would thoroughly recommend and we'll definitely be going back! Excellent!"
Debbie - Jul 2022
"Beautiful week away in the sunset Lodge nicely isolated for peace & quiet . Best hottub I've ever been in and the lodge has everything you could ever ask for. WiFi was on the weak side but nothing major. When we was there was 2 power cuts only for a few minutes but I phoned up the number and staff was so helpful. Enjoyed so much going again next week . Thank you bluewood for a cracking holiday."
Andrew - Jul 2022
"Lovely lodges, so quiet and relaxing especially with the hot tubs! Staff were friendly, helpful and informative. Had a power cut whilst we were there and we were kept informed as much as they could. Great location for lots of the towns in the Cotswolds."
Victoria - Jul 2022
"Such a gorgeous lodge, views absolutely amazing. Total relaxation. Pub is not near though."
Wendy - Jul 2022
"Lovely place but if you like the sun it’s shady and no where to sit and chill ."
Tracey - Jul 2022
"This place cannot be faulted at all. From the location to the friendly welcoming staff."

Attractions Near Bluewood Lodges

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Bluewood Lodges. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens - OX18 4JP
about 8 Miles
This has to be one of the most popular days out in Oxfordshire and is sure to appeal to nature lovers, animal lovers and keen gardeners.  Families and couples will enjoy wandering around this amazing park with a wide variety of mammals and birds to see as well as reptiles. Some of the most popular animals are the Burrowing Owl, Dexter Cow, African Pancake Tortoise and the Bar Headed Goose.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and special offers.
Farmer Gows - SN7 8DA
about 19 Miles
Farmer Gows is a recommended attraction in the Faringdon area of Oxfordshire and will be especially suited to families with young children.  The little ones will love coming to see the farm animals including pigs, cows and lambs.  The meet the animals session takes place every day and includes handling the animals, walking the goats, feeding the pigs and cows and egg collecting.  Look out for special seasonal events throughout the year such as the Halloween Party, Lambing and children's workshops.  The latest news from the farm is that they have some Saddleback piglets and Speckledy chicks arriving shortly.
Avon Leisure Cruises - BS8 4EB
about 22 Miles
Avon Leisure Cruises offer a relaxing way to spend an afternoon exploring the beautiful river and the sites all around it. The trips have commentary to point out places of historical importance and interest and are educational as well as fun. During school holidays the area is very popular with tourists and with families and daily activities can be enjoyed.
Pendon Indoor Model Village and Railways - OX12 8EA
about 24 Miles
This is an all weather attraction in Abingdon, Oxfordshire which will appeal to all ages.  The model trains are fascinating to watch and we love the model village in the Vale Scene.  The exhibits have been well thought out and it's a pleasure to wander around this museum looking at everything on offer.  You can be assured of a warm welcome from the moment you arrive and for kids and adults alike this makes a fun and educational day out.
Catanger Llama Trekking - NN12 8LJ
about 26 Miles
This is a really unique attraction and certainly worth a visit in our opinion.  Established in 1995 and situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside this attraction will appeal to those looking for something a little different.  You can't ride the animals but you can trek alongside them and enjoy the fantastic scenery.  From farm tracks to country lanes the gentle animals will carry your rucksack for you along the way.  There are personally guided treks available all year round and you will have your own Llama for the trek.
Studley Grange Garden and Leisure Park - SN4 9QT
about 26 Miles
Studley Grange Garden and Leisure Park is a fantastic attraction based in Swindon, Wiltshire.  For nature lovers and those who like to get out and explore this is the perfect day out.  It's also an all weather attraction with Butterfly World being part of the site.  Butterfly World is kept at around 85 degrees year round so this makes a perfect place to visit in all seasons. A visit to the Craft Village is also recommended where there are a wide range of handcrafted gifts.
Spetchley Park and Gardens - WR5 1RS
about 30 Miles
Spetchley Park and Gardens in Worcestershire are the perfect place for a day trip all year round. During the summer months the gardens are really at their best with beautiful displays of flora and fauna. Many families choose to bring a picnic and there are several picnic tables in the grounds. The deer park is also a big hit with children as well as grown ups. The onsite tea room serves tasty sandwiches and cakes and uses local produce where possible.
Old Dairy Farm Centre - PO30 2NB
about 31 Miles
Suited to families with children of all ages this is a fantastic attraction in Northamptonshire.  There are many special events held throughout the year so don't forget to check what's happening while you are staying in the region.  Some highlights include the lambing weekends and the monthly local food fayres.
Old Dairy Farm Country Shopping and Craft Centre - LE14 3PF
about 31 Miles
From shopping to home cooked refreshments this is a wonderful day out in the pretty village of Upper Stowe.  You can enjoy amazing views over the Northamptonshire countryside and wander around the complex of stone built farm buildings.  Each building houses something different such as the Occasions Florist, Itsy Bitsy Gifts, Hayrack Gallery and Sheer Delights Lingerie.  When it's time for a rest the Barn Restaurant and Tea Room is the place to go.  There is a small selection of animals at the centre too which younger children will love.  They currently have two Kune Kune pigs, sheep, hens and ducks.  If you are looking for upmarket holiday accommodation in the Northamptonshire area then the luxury lodges at Wicksteed Park are sure to impress.
