Ford Farm Lodges Reviews

"The lodge was great, plenty of space around the lodge and only 10 lodges in total at the farm which meant it really felt like you was away from everything. The beds were really comfortable and we had everything we could have possibly needed. The internet was really great too which was an added bonus for our son!"

"We booked a four-night weekend stay at the Berkeley Elite Spa lodge through Hoseasons and overall, it was a pretty lovely getaway. Checking in was super smooth thanks to the key safe - no fuss at all, which we really appreciated after a long drive. The welcome pack was thoughtful, with a glass of apple juice, some treats for the dogs and handy info about local vets and shops. The lodge itself was beautifully decorated, spacious and kept cosy thanks to the underfloor heating and log burner. The hot tub was a real highlight, especially since the site isnt brightly lit at night, so we could sit in the hot tub and stargaze, with the peaceful stream nearby adding to the relaxing vibe. The site was quiet, perfect for unwinding and a good base to explore the Malvern Hills, Ross on Wye and Ledbury - all worth the visit. We also tried China Boy Jo in Ross on Wye on the recommendation and it was absolutely delicious. The WiFi was surprisingly good and the smart TV was a bonus; we brought our fire stick and had no buffering issues like in previous places. Only a couple of minor things - the oven was a bit tricky to figure out without instructions and if you have a dog, just be aware the area behind the lodge isnt fully secure, so your furry friends might run off. Still, we wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place; it gave us the relaxing break we were after. Definitely a spot wed visit again!"
Jamie - Oct 2024

"We recently spent a week at Lodge 3 and honestly, it was fantastic. The place was huge, spotless and had everything we could ask for. The peaceful surroundings made it even better. The little touches like the apple juice and jute bag were a lovely surprise. Definitely coming back and recommending it to friends!"
Mark - Jun 2024
"Great spot to base ourselves from!"

"Really enjoyed the weekend, Sharon and Will are lovely people"
Haven Trust - Feb 2024
"We had such a lovely time at Goddards Mead! The cottage was perfect in every aspect. Can't wait to return!"
Chris - Jan 2024
"We just got back from a fantastic four-night stay at this cottage. The owners were really friendly and approachable, but they kept their distance, which was perfect. The fenced garden was a big plus for our dog and the cottage had everything we needed - no missing bits. We even enjoyed a barbecue one evening. The hot tub was amazing! Wed definitely come back and already told our friends about it. Thanks for a lovely break!"
Jess - Jan 2024
"We had a lovely stay at the lodge. It was spotless and really well-kept, which we appreciated. The central heating worked fine, but we ended up relying more on the electric heater since the central system kept shutting off. There was plenty of storage in the kitchen and bathroom, so no complaints there. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the lack of plug sockets in the bedrooms - couldnt dry my hair properly because there wasnt a socket behind the dressing table, so I had to carry everything into the kitchen. Still, the beds were comfy and everyone got a good sleep!"
Samantha - Nov 2023
"We had a lovely stay in this cosy little spot, nestled in a peaceful, secluded area. The hosts were super friendly and always available if we needed anything, but it still felt private. The hot tub was a real treat after long bike rides! The only thing to note is that the cottage is quite close to Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a few hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didnt ruin our holiday. Would definitely recommend!"
Harriet - Jul 2023
"Simple, cosy and perfectly kept"
Oliver - Jun 2023
"We had a lovely 4-night getaway with the kids and our dog in such a peaceful spot. The countryside around Ford Farm Lodges is absolutely stunning, perfect for a relaxing break. Malcolm and Martyn were genuinely friendly and super helpful, making us feel really welcome from the start. The lodge had everything we needed-fresh flowers in the lounge, nice touches like coffee, tea and milk pods, plus outdoor furniture on the porch. Honestly, we wish we couldve stayed longer, maybe a whole week next time!"
Sarah - Aug 2020
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was cosy and perfect for family time."
Lucy - Aug 2020
"The spot is fantastic and the location couldn't be better. The place itself was really comfortable and theres plenty to do nearby. We had a lovely time!"
Daniel - Aug 2020
"Great weekend, will definitely return soon."
Olivia - Feb 2020
"We had an absolutely lovely stay at the lodge. Its super spacious, clean and the hot tub in the garden was a real treat! The log burner worked like magic, so we turned off the underfloor heating. The kitchen had everything we needed, which was great. The only tiny issue was the heavy duvet - a lighter option wouldve been perfect for warmer nights. Still, highly recommend!"
George - Dec 2019
"We recently stayed at the Elite Spa and honestly, it was lovely. The place feels so open and bright, with comfy, stylish furniture that makes you feel right at home. The kitchen is fully stocked with good quality appliances, which was great for cooking. The bathroom is spacious too, with a separate shower cubicle that's really accessible, especially for anyone with mobility issues. The bed was super cosy with crisp, fresh linen-perfect for a good sleep. The park itself is beautifully looked after and Martin and Malcolm are incredible hosts; nothings too much trouble for them. It was my first time in the 'elite lodge' and Ive already booked again-its just the perfect escape to forget all your worries. Highly recommend!"
Margaret - Mar 2019
"We really enjoyed our second visit, definitely coming back again!"
Charlie - Nov 2018

Michael - Nov 2017
"Really cozy and spotless, honestly."
Sam - Jun 2017
"Peaceful location in the pretty Gloucestershire countryside. The lodge was well decorated, immaculately clean and everything worked as it should. Toiletries, bin bags, toilet roll and washing up equipment were provided along with tea towels. This is one of the best self catering lodges I have stayed in. There is one pub in reasonable walking distance where we had a good meal and this was a good base for us to visit Ross on Wye, WWT Slimbridge, Gloucester, Monmouth and Little Dean Jail."
Lisa - Aug 2022
"Perfectly situated to enjoy the Welsh Marches and Gloucestershire. Very comfortable lodge in an extremely quiet environment offering perfect and comfortable nights sleep."
Martyn - Aug 2022
"An excellent place to stay, Sharon (The Wardon) was very helpful and professional. The lodge we stayed in was clean and of a high standard, I would book a lodge there again in the future, a perfect retreat overall."
Verified Guest - Aug 2022
"Wow. One big chill out."
Ian - Jul 2022
"Great Lodge, in a very quiet and relaxing location. The lodge had everything we needed for our weekend away. The lodge was clean and tidy. We had a amazing weekend as a family and was perfectly located for us to visit all the places we planned to visit in the Cotswolds and surrounding area. Could not of asked for more!!"
Craig - Jul 2022
"Had great time, particularly loved hot tub."
Georgina - Jul 2022
"Sharon was a fantastic host, she could not have done more for us. The lodges were clean and fairly well equipped. The site was so peaceful and quiet. The cleaners were also fantastic. Can not speak too highly of the staff here. We will definitely be back."
Catherine - Jul 2022
"We had a fantastic stay at Ford Farm Lodges (we were in Kilcot Elite Spa 2, at the very end of the site). The lodge and site were immaculately kept. Sharon (the manager) and staff were all so friendly and helpful, with great suggestions on local walks and where to eat. The hot tub was excellent and much needed for aching joints after long walks! The nearest town, Newent, is two miles away and has a well-stocked Co-Op and Spar. The surrounding area is beautiful, with local walks straight from the lodge possible and the Malvern Hills, Wye Valley (visit Symonds Yat, it's a must!) and the heart of the Forest of Dean all only a few miles away. The only slight disappointment (and in no way related to the lodge owners) was the terrible state of parts of the local footpaths -- overgrown with nettles and/or brambles, broken styles and missing signs were all evident - some paths we simply had to give up on -- shame on the local councils for allowing this to happen! In contrast, the paths on and around the Malvern Hills and Wye valley were excellent. For eating out, we would recommend the Kilcot Inn (a 1 mile walk from the lodge), Alma Inn, Linton (a pleasant 2 mile walk from the lodge down very quiet country roads, also, walk back along ''The Ridge' for excellent views), The Kings Arms, Newent, and if you fancy excellent Nepalese food, 'The Roadhouse', Gorsley (a 1 1/2 mile walk from the lodge) We shall certainly be returning to this lodge site! Highly recommend :)"
Duncan - Jul 2022
"I have stayed in a lot of lodges and this one was by far the best. Immaculate inside and spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful went the Extra mile to help us settle in"
Katy - Jul 2022
"A wonderful and enjoyable stay.Sharon was just so welcoming.Peace and tranquility in a comfortable, clean modern lodge.Thank you for being so kind and helpful to us (and the dog) making our stay " Just Perfect"."
Linda - Jul 2022
"Spacious, clean lodge in a beautiful quiet location."
Robert - Jul 2022
"Had a fantastic time every think you need for a getaway"
Drew - Jul 2022
"Fabulous lodge, was extremely clean and exactly as described. Lovely little park and immaculate grounds. Would definately use again."
