Home Farm Park Lakeside Retreat Reviews

"Absolutely loved our stay, would 100% go back again.Lodge was clean and cosy and had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Nice place to stay as its just a short car journey into skegness and over to the chip shop in Burgh Le Marsh which is great. the site itself is a fishermans paradise as plenty of pegs to fish from. its very dark at night as no lights on site and the shop is very basic so better off getting stuff you need from COOP in Burgh Le Marsh which is a 4 min car journey away and Skegness is an 8 min drive away. All in all a very good location and the Van was really good along with the hot tub that was very clean and hot when we arrived to site, the WiFi was great for the kids tablets and our phones - plenty of signal so never disconnected."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Was very disappointed with the cleanliness overall of cooking equipment and hot tub ???? there were dried food on plates ect and frying pan was disgusting, we took it back to be told it was ware and tare.Absolutely wrong it was not cleaned.Hot Tub had scum all around the edges and dirt in bottom, this did not get cleaned until halfway through holiday. Will definitely think twice now as we have booked with Hoseasons a lot in last 10 years"
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Lovely site nice and quiet, lodge was absolutely immaculate we've stayed in it 3 times now and it still looks brand new, would definitely go back."
Tracy - Mar 2024
"Sofa was not comfortable"
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Everything was absolutely perfect. I could not fault the accommodation at all."
Ellen - Mar 2024
"Amazing lodge always go for this one . As faces lake which I prefer. Enough kitchen equipment to cook if you choose to. Plenty of space to cill out"
Katheen - Mar 2024
"The lodge was spotless when we arrived, the rooms were spacious and the hot tub was nice and warm ready for arrival. Access was simple and straightforward as well as leaving the property. The site had a shop and deli which we didnt use but it did look nice and inviting, there were 3 donkeys on site and well as lots of geese and ducks and other wildlife which the kids really enjoyed spotting. Enough privacy as lodges had good distance, peaceful and serene location. A 15 minute drive out to Skegness. We enjoyed our small break."
Veena - Mar 2024
"brilliant lodge ..very clean and spacious"
Thamara - Mar 2024
"The lodge was lovely, very spacious and clean, not enough seating to accommodate 6 people especially 6 adults. Would mean at least 3 sitting in the dinning table chairsThe complex itself at night was too dark at not very well lit, no lights around the hot tub so we had to use our phones to see what we are doing. The veranda was very slippy when it rained an no slip matts."
Stephanie - Jan 2024
"We booked a cabin that had a hot tub facing the lake due to us wanting more privacy and not wanting to be loud to the other cabins when we queried it the man was rude to us saying the pictures we booked was only references only but when we looked on the site we booked with it doesnt say anywhere that it was reference only there was a cabin next to ours that had no one in and looked the exact same as the cabin we booked online and we asked if we can move into it and he rudely said no everything is booked .none of the bedroom doors or bathroom doors locked so no privacy and they didnt even close so had to put bags behind door to keep them closed and the light was out in the entrance was out so couldnt see getting in and out of the hot tub which was dangerous when it was dark and wet , it just seemed like the cabin has been thrown together as the kitchen wasnt fully done such as fridge and freezer where not attached to cupboard so always slammed and couldnt open the freezer without the fridge and everything was just not done properly , there was tooth paste all over the bathroom door which wasnt very clean just overall expected something different to what we actually had booked so was disappointed"
Hannah - Jan 2024
"We enjoyed our stay, and have booked for next year."
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Our lodge was lovely, had a brilliant stay with family, it was close to Skegness for time out, the only problem we encountered was no matress protector on the double bed, it was found in a draw unfortunately when it was time to leave, also only one side plate and one cereal bowl.Love the donkeys, good fishing and views, overall very pleased."
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"We had an amazing break here over Christmas! The lodge was excellent, clean and very spacious. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We are looking to book again for next year. Amazing!"
Natalie - Dec 2023
"We spent Christmas at the lodge and it was lovely. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The donkeys were amazing! The only negative is that it wasnt very clean. The tv unit was dusty, under the sofa was filthy and the rug needed a good hoover from dog hair (It was a dog friendly lodge). There was clothes left in one of the wardrobes and there also isnt a door curtain for the main entrance which everyone coming up the road could see straight in. However we hung a blanket up on the hooks that were already there, which served a purpose but didnt look great. Overall great stay."
Ashleigh - Dec 2023
"Amazing holiday stay here, very clean and everything you need. Very friendly staff! Highly recommend this place beautiful surroundings and very relaxing"
Gemma - Dec 2023
"Two large double rooms and one single but beds still large enough for adults, fully equipped kitchen lots of storage, didnt use washing machine but maybe if we had been there longer we would have, lovely hot tub, lovely views and easy to find."
Lian - Nov 2023

"Only downfall is not easy to get to the village on foot as busy road and not safe for people with mobility issuses!lodge was beautiful and comfatble , hot tub was amazing!lovley scenery and very relaxing!would deffinatly book again"
Rachael - May 2022
"Absolutely stunning....the sites surroundings ...the caravan ...all of it ...Great!!! wi-fi and 32" TV was a bonus.....A little bit pricey for 4 nights . but you get what you pay for I suppose ... Perfect few days break!!!! Would prefer to book direct with the site....but don't think that is possible ....but will definitely return !"
Lindy - Apr 2022
"Lovely short break away! Only downside was the heating being on timer and we had a day in the lodge (stayed in November) so it was rather cold. Had an issue with the boiler but rang the number given and had a gentleman come out straight away pretty much. Overall the stay was lovely and we would come back"
Naomi - Nov 2021
"I had a absolutely lovely time staying at Home Farm Park in a lodge with a Laskeside View, The lodge was absolutely beautiful and so clean, the beds were very comfortable and just overall so homely and cozy. Would 100% visit again it is so worth the money. There are local shops and Skegness is only a 10 minute drive which was a great day trip out. Very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend!"

Attractions Near Home Farm Park Lakeside Retreat

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Home Farm Park Lakeside Retreat. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 4 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 17 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 27 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 28 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 34 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 35 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
