Dovestone Holiday Park Reviews

"This was my 3rd time staying here (twice in a pod) and I love it. The pods are great- we've been glamping to other places and I'm not keen on having to use communal bathrooms and kitchens so having your own is amazing. As for the location, it's perfect. Walk one way and you're on the reservoir, the other way and you are at the pub. Will definitely be back!"
Louise - Aug 2022
"Excellent weekend retreat. The pods were cosy and warm. Very peaceful, time to think in very nice surroundings"
Roger - Jul 2022
"Great customer service from start to end, I had made an error in booking and the staff at Dovestone rectified this for me with no charge and were very helpful, the lady on reception was fantastic and was very helpful. The park provide you with a book of things nearby which is great and there are security staff on site which are friendly and great with our barky dog! Fantastic service and lovely place, shower was fantastic and pod was clean and tidy and just what was needed. Would definitely recommend!"
Rosie - Jul 2022
"The place was so serene and idyllic. Great views and the weather was just perfect!"
Flora - Jun 2022
"Our Dovestone Holiday Park review: We had a lovely stay at dovestone over the bank holiday weekend. The view of the little lake when we opened the door of our pod on a sunny morning was just fab. My two boys enjoyed feeding the ducks and had space to play ball games with other children on the site. The reservoir was great to walk around and the views from the mountain were just gorgeous. There are plenty of walks around. The only addition to the site would be a little play area for the children (swings etc). Other than that we loved it."
Hannah - May 2022
"Lovely location, had an relaxing weekend. Will book again."
Lian - May 2022
"Wonderful four night break at this cosy retreat. Comfortable, well equipped cabin with a great hot tub. Within walking distance of beautiful scenery and walks and a good pub down the road. Great customer care with friendly helpful staff ."
Beverley - May 2022
"A lovely quiet site next to some beautiful countryside and reservoir walks I cannot believe this site isn’t fully booked !"
Julie - May 2022
"Would definitely book again, absolutely loved it."
Michelle - Apr 2022
"Awesome short break - fabulous location with many walks straight from the door. Lovely village within walking distance with a great pub (The Clarence) and a massive Tescos. Lodge had everything we needed and the hot tub was most welcome."
Suzanne - Apr 2022
"Lovely, helpful staff and great setting for a relaxing time. Nice and quiet and security at night to stop noise pollution and selfish people spoiling it for others. Would recommend and we will be revisiting."
Neil - Apr 2022
"A perfect place to enjoy some chill time. Great lodge with hot tub, close to lovely walks. Even when raining it looked beautiful. Staff were super helpful."

Peak District National Park -
about 24 Miles
The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
Gulliver's World Theme Park - WA5 9YZ
about 27 Miles
This is a very popular theme park with three different locations.  The theme park in Warrington contains not only the theme park but also Gullivers Splash Zone and Gullivers Star Studios.  The Solash Zone is a fully heated indoor water play factory fun for all ages which will appeal on rainy days.  Throughout the year there are seasonal events too such as the Halloween and Fireworks event taking place from 23rd to 31st October.  You can book online to save time and secure your tickets during busy periods.  Over 50% of the rides are actually under cover so you don't need to worry about the British weather spoiling the fun.
Xscape Castleford - WF10 4TA
about 29 Miles
Located in the Castleford area of West Yorkshire this is a fun family day out with loads of activities under one roof.   For the energetic there is a real snow slop for skiing and rock climbing walls.  For the more laid back then there is a cinema and bowling alley.  This place caters for all ages and there are seasonal events on throughout the year too. This attraction is described on their website as the "Ultimate Entertainment Destination " so why not check out their site for the latest admission costs and opening times?
Gullivers Kingdom - DE4 3NT
about 33 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
Heights of Abraham - DE4 3PT
about 33 Miles
This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
Gulliver's Kingdome - WA5 9YZ
about 33 Miles
Gulliver's Kingdome is a family friendly theme park offering many attractions for children of all ages. The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. For the little ones there are rides such as the veteran cars and the balloon wheel and Diego and Dora the Explorer are on hand to make sure they are having a great time. Between the 21st and 31st of October the park becomes a spooky Halloween spectacular with a range of shows and fireworks to enjoy. Standard prices are £12.00 for adults and children over 90cm. Group booking discounts are available.
Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Go Ape Cheshire - WA16 6RW
about 35 Miles
Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
Alton Towers - ST10 4DB

Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
