"It's not quite up to their usual standard, could do with some tweaks here and there."

"Weve stayed here a few times now and keep coming back. The whole process from check-in to check-out is so smooth, which we really appreciate. The lodges are spotless and well-equipped for self-catering, making everything easy. We love that the hot tubs are enclosed - perfect for privacy and letting the dogs roam freely without worries. Plus, the fact that dogs are welcome is a huge bonus. Prices are fair too and the beds are super comfy. The staff are always friendly and helpful!"

"Had a lovely weekend here! The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. Perfect for a chill break with my wife and our dog. Well be back for sure!"

"The lodge wasnt quite what we expected. The pictures showed a gas hob and double oven, but ours had an induction hob and just a single oven. The pots werent suitable for induction and it wasnt very clean apart from the obvious surfaces and bedding. Bit disappointing, really."

"Our Landal Piperdam (Piperdam Lodges) review: We really enjoyed our stay at this lodge. Plenty of space for six, all rooms were spotless and everything else was well-equipped. Just wish there were extra baking trays!"

"Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with our stay at the large Braveheart lodge with the games room. The overall condition just wasnt up to scratch - floors were grimy and the bottom of the curtains in the foyer looked dirty too. The hot tap in the kitchen barely worked and even after raising it with staff, nothing changed. The hot tub was a letdown as well - jets didnt function properly, which was a shame. The roulette table was stained and filthy, definitely not what we expected based on the advert. We did mention these issues during our stay, but got told we should have complained then - fair enough, but we reckon accommodation should be in good shape from the get-go, right? The games room was pretty rubbish - missing cards, a tiny plastic roulette wheel that wasnt what was advertised, no proper ball (we got a salt pot with one side flat) and different sized balls on the snooker table. Seriously, basics! They offered us 10% off for next time, but honestly, were not convinced well bother. Not cheap and definitely not worth the hassle."

"We stayed in one of the bigger lodges and honestly, we werent told upfront that the balconies would be closed. That was a bit disappointing since it was something we were looking forward to. The lodges themselves are still lovely, but definitely starting to look a bit tired and could do with a refresh. The location and staff, though, are absolutely fantastic-couldnt fault them at all!"
Emma Clarke - Jan 2025
"The lodge was quite disappointing; we found rubbish under the couch and a big lump of old food in the cupboard. No grill pan and the TV didnt work properly either."
Emma Carter - Jan 2025
"The lodge is pretty decent overall, but it definitely needs some love and care. The spa pool was a bit neglected and the kitchens cutlery and glasses were quite sparse for a larger group. Also, we found crisps on the sofa cushions and it wasnt very clean either."

"Charming place, would definitely return"

"Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with our stay. The boiler was broken, so our lodge was freezing, which isnt ideal when youve got two kids. The only things that seemed to be kept tidy were the bedding and the hot tub, but the shower screen was hanging off and not very clean. The staff were really helpful and did their best to assist us, which we appreciated. Still, for what we paid, we wouldnt be booking here again. It just didnt feel worth it, sadly."

"Honestly, we were pretty disappointed. The carpets were filthy and the laminate flooring was unfinished. Brown stains in the shower and the shower trays wouldnt drain properly. Fixtures hanging off walls, broken mirrors and no extra towels or robes for the hot tub. Utensils were missing and the coffee table was chewed up. The TV was poor quality too. Not what we expected at all."
Emma - Nov 2024
"The park is lovely, with plenty of trees, but it makes the area quite shadowy. The house felt quite plain and minimalistic, almost too bare for our taste. Still, worth a visit!"

"We recently stayed at the Eagle Spa Pet Lodge for a big family celebration with 6 adults and 4 kids. Honestly, the place was massive and had plenty of space - five big bedrooms, each with its own en-suite, which was handy. But for what we paid, we expected it to be in better shape. The outside was pretty neglected; gutters were clogged with weeds and some down pipes were hanging loose, causing flooding and soggy patches on the lawn. There was even broken glass on the grass near the hot tub, which was a real concern! Inside, things werent much better. The laminate flooring was lifting in some of the en-suites and there was damage to the kitchen units, plus water stains around the lodge. The dishwasher was out of action and the kitchen drain was blocked, which was a pain. The hot tub was disappointing too - only a quarter of the jets worked and despite telling staff on day one, it wasnt fixed during our stay. We had dinner in the restaurant on Saturday night, but the service was pretty shocking - undercooked meat, long waits and some staff were quite rude. On a positive note, the activity barn was fantastic; the staff there were friendly and chilled and the kids loved the activities. Overall, it was a nice family trip in a great location, but the quality of the accommodation was pretty disappointing considering the price. It really could be so much better - Piperdam, get your act together!"

"We had a fantastic stay at the lodge! It was really roomy and perfect for us. The inside amenities were spot on and everyone was very happy. Only minor thing was the carpets, which were a bit grubby when we arrived and the snooker table felt was patched up with tape, but honestly, it didnt spoil our trip. Were definitely recommending it to friends and family!"

"Not worth the price, very tired and worn out."

"Good value, but some fittings and carpets need fixing."

"Honestly, our stay was quite disappointing. The lodge was in a terrible state - showers kept leaking and there was obvious mould where the leaks had been before. The wooden interior looked dirty, especially the greasy walls in the kitchen - it honestly looked like theyd never been cleaned properly. The floors downstairs were so grimy that the kids ended up with dirty marks on their feet after a while. For a place meant to sleep 10 adults, we struggled with basic stuff like enough utensils; there was only one frying pan and no chopping boards, plus missing shelves in the fridge, which was a pain. The facilities outside werent much better - the cafe near the play barn had filthy tables and chairs and the options for food and drinks were pretty limited. Upstairs, the rooms were boiling hot every day. We turned down all the thermostats but it felt like there was underfloor heating on in the middle of summer - no ventilation at all. The fan in the main bathroom was off and the switch was on the ceiling, so we couldnt turn it on. When we arrived, the balcony was covered in empty beer bottles, so it clearly hadnt been cleaned. And to top it off, there were only three toilet rolls for a whole week for a lodge thats supposed to sleep 10 adults! We were so disappointed, we ended up leaving a day early. Honestly, wouldnt bother going back - it was a waste of our time and money."

"We just finished a three-night stay at Rainbow Spa Lodge 77 and honestly, we really enjoyed it. After coming across some pretty negative reviews online, we were a bit unsure if wed made the right call, but we decided to keep an open mind. From the moment we stepped inside, we were pleasantly surprised-its a lovely place, very clean and surprisingly spacious throughout. Sure, some things are a bit old-fashioned and the outdoor area could have done with a quick tidy, but these small issues didnt spoil our stay. The hot tub and sauna were fantastic and the mobile signal was decent, especially since were all with O2. The only thing that let us down a bit was the restaurant - food was pretty bland, tasted like it came straight from a packet. Still, were definitely planning to come back!"

"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was lovely and peaceful."

"Overall, the apartment was nice, but it really needs some updates. Adding side tables, bathroom shelves, a full-length mirror and a shaving mirror would make a big difference!"

"Honestly, we had a bit of a rollercoaster experience at Piperdam. About a week before our trip, we were told there was an issue with the hot tub - apparently, they were waiting on a part and hoped to have it fixed by our arrival. They offered us a few options: a full refund, a 20% refund, or just find somewhere else. We went for the 20%, mainly because we knew there was a swimming pool onsite. When we got there, though, the reception didnt mention that the hot tub still wasnt working at all, just that it was heating up and might be ready the next day. Bit disappointing, but oh well. The cabin itself was a letdown, especially considering it was advertised as a log cabin with a hot tub. The hot tub lid was a mess - not something that just happened, it looked like its been neglected for ages. Honestly, it felt like the resort had known about this issue for quite some time and selling that cabin was unfair. The place was supposed to be pet-free, but it looked tired and honestly, Ive seen pet-friendly cabins at other resorts in better shape. The kitchen was pretty sparse - only four cups, four plates, four bowls and a handful of cutlery. For a self-catering place, thats really poor. We even found an ant in the fridge and on the surfaces, which was a bit gross. Sleeping wasnt great either - the mattresses didnt even fit the beds properly and in the twin room, there was only one pillow. Not ideal. The sauna was a red flag too - the water bucket had a metal spoon in it, which couldve caused burns if someone wasnt paying attention. We ate at the restaurant, but honestly, it was overpriced for what you got and some items were missing from our order. The assistant manager sorted it out and refunded us, which was decent of them. We did better at the Birkhill Inn - the portions were huge, the food was delicious and it was way cheaper than Piperdams offerings. All in all, not the best experience, but we made the most of it!"

"Nice overall, but a few small upgrades could help a lot."
Emma Carter - Apr 2024
"Overall, our weekend was lovely, especially celebrating my daughters 21st. The lodge was nice and spacious and it was spotless, which we appreciated. However, a few things were a bit annoying-some broken dining chairs, a kitchen cupboard hanging loose and the shower door downstairs wouldnt shut. Plus, no wifi! Still, wed come back for sure."
Emma Roberts - Mar 2024
"Weve visited Piperdam several times, but honestly, this last stay was a bit of a letdown. The lodge looked a bit worn out, with frayed carpets and missing fridge parts-definitely not what we expected. The hot tub was more lukewarm than hot and the jets barely worked. Still, we cant fault the facilities or the friendly staff and Howies Bars food and drinks were spot on. Just a shame about the little details!"
