With your own private outdoor hot tub and access to the swimming pool and gym at the Marwell Hotel, this lovely holiday destination sits right on the edge of the beautiful South Downs National Park. There's a jam-packed programme of activities, including golf, clay pigeon shooting and aerial adventure courses!

With three fabulous golf courses nearby as well as an assault course and zip wires, you can also get busy wayfaring, orienteering and quad biking. There's even a Segway rally course! Water babies can go kayaking and canoeing, there's climbing, abseiling, archery, paintballing - a whole host of activities for every member of the family!

The Spitfire Lodge is a luxurious and spacious lodge for up to eight people. It has a master double bedroom, a twin and one room with bunks, plus two more people can sleep comfortably in the lounge. There are two bathrooms, a huge verandah with garden furniture and of course, your own private outdoor hot tub.

Just a few miles away, tucked away on Wharf Hill in Winchester, The Black Boy pub serves home cooked favourites and a good selection of beers and wines.

Our Top Tip
"A visit to the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth is a must - take a stroll around the Mary Rose, which sat at the bottom of the sea for almost 450 years before being raised in 1982."

Great holiday. Clean, well equipped lodge and well
Maintained hot tub. We would have liked sofas big enough to seat everyone at the same time.

This was the second time I had stayed in Spitfire Lodge, as had such a positive experience on my first visit with a different group of friends.

The lodge is very cosy, but also big enough for 6 adults, which was very important. In terms of practical things, the kitchen is well stocked. On other similar holidays sometimes we have found there have not been enough utensils/cutlery etc, but here this was no problem at all, and the hob and oven worked really well. We went at the end of January and so it was very cold - the heating worked well and quickly so after coming in all wet from walks we were able to get comfortable again very fast.

The bedrooms are very nice, but the bunk bed is a little squeaky. Good storage space for bags and suitcases etc. We loved the wooden panelling throughout the lodge. We used the hot tub most evenings, and really enjoyed being able to make the most of it, this made the weekend very special!

Overall, a very luxurious lodge we will likely visit again!

We wanted time together as a couple with no kids and no pets. Somewhere we could relax and enjoy just being together. The lodge not only did that but also spoiled us as we didnt want to leave. The staff really pay attention to detail in presenting the lodges. So warm and welcoming and clean. We really had a great time
Jessica
Great stay, couldn’t fault it!
Donna

DEAN
The cabin was fantastic I could easily live in it,the staff were great too very friendly and helpful, the only negative I could say is the lack of evening facilities i e no bar or clubhouse other than that it’s a lovely relaxing place to stay and would highly recommended
Hayden
Brilliant place! Already looking at booking again next year!
TRACY
Perfect place to have a break away from everyday life
Michelle
Friendly staff who made us feel really welcome. The lodge was warm and cosy, and a playbarn which kept my grandchildren happy for the holiday.
Moira
Lovely stay for all the family. Ideal location and beautiful surroundings. Well equipped lodge with almost everything we needed. Would recommend!
Kelly
Great lodge, great onsite facilities, great staff, great value
Kelly
Beautiful lodge, which was clean and well kept. Parking could be improved if closer to the lodge, to avoid dark muddy work from the car at night. Hot tub was well kept and just as we expected. WiFi was limited and didn’t reach the furthest bedrooms but could be accessed easily from all other areas.

Fun Days Out near Marwell Lodges

Go Ape - about 4 Miles
Go Ape in Hampshire offers a unique opportunity for energetic adults and children over 10 to let off steam. The fun packed tree top adventure involves swinging through trees, climbing cargo nets, descending down zip wires and trekking through the canopies. Only for those with a good head for heights!  The longest Zip wire is a staggering 165m providing adrenaline boosting fun! The site also has a picnic area and kids playground.
Royal Victoria Country Park is highly recommended for a day out in the summer and has lots of things for children to do. There are woodland trails to explore with free maps and guides available. There are also several play areas, one for older children, one for the little ones and one for disabled children so no one is left out of the fun. Within the grounds there is also a heritage site, a tea room and a formal garden.
This is a really fun and memorable attraction which is suitable for day trips or short breaks.  You can buy your tickets online which will help you beat the queues especially in school holidays as well as save money.  With a whole host of attractions and thrilling rides there might not be enough time in the day!  Exciting rides include the Edge and The Cobra.  More family friendly rides for younger children include the Magic Carpet Ride and the Flying Frog.  We are sure the whole family will have fun at Paultons so check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.
See wildlife in their natural surroundings as you wander round this amazing park.  Otters, owls, foxes and badgers are just some of the species you might come across here.  This attraction is perfect for sunny days and ideal for animal lovers and families as well as couples.  Located in the Marchwood area of Southampton this is a very popular day out.
