About Ruby Country Lodges

Ruby Country Lodges are the perfect romantic escape. They are ideally located on the Devon / Cornwall border, so you'll have the best of both counties as you explore the interesting market towns, picturesque villages and visitor attractions. The lodges are surrounded by fragrant pine trees and unspoilt rolling countryside.

The wooded setting and rustic lodges give a real feeling of seclusion - you can while away the beautiful Devon evenings in your own private hot tub. However, Bude, with its many restaurants, pubs and shops, is very close by if you want something a little more lively. The Tree Inn is a quaint yet busy village pub that offers really lovely bar food.

Accommodation at Ruby Country Lodges consists of stunning two and three bedroom lodges, all with their own hot tubs. Roadford Lodge is sumptuous and stylishly furnished to a very high standard. The master bedroom has an ensuite shower and there are also two twin rooms and a deluxe family bathroom. It's open plan and contemporary and the patio doors lead out onto a superb decking area and hot tub.

There are plenty of safe cycle paths in the surrounding area. The Granite Way at Okehampton is a fairly easy 11 mile route that takes you through rural Devon with hardly any traffic. You can go gliding and riding at Dartmoor, clay pigeon shooting at Liskeard and canoeing and kayaking at Barnstaple so there's plenty of activities if you have some energy to burn!

Simon - Jul 2022
"Very clean and comfortable"
Jackie - Jul 2022
"We spent five nights in Ruby Country Lodges. The complex was in a secluded spot and there was plenty of things to do in the area. It was calm and peaceful. The maintenance staff Mark was available every day and he and his colleagues are up keeping the complex to a high standard. The instructions for guests was extremely clear and all our queries were answered in the booklet."

Deborah - Feb 2022
"This was our 3 rd visit and the lodge which was a Tamar is looking tired and some of the kitchen cupboards and cooker need a good steam clean. Dirty marks on the mattress which we only discovered when we stripped the beds. Needs updating and refreshing especially the decking and outdoor furniture"
Sandra - Dec 2021
"We have been going to Ruby lodges for about 8 years now and we absolutely love it! It’s quiet and relaxing and such a peaceful retreat. The lodges are always spotless and the staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them, we would highly recommend it here."
Sarah - Nov 2021
"lovely peaceful and secludued break away , loved the hot tub

lodge was almost perfect! for us we need a washing machine

The ramp for the wheelchair is too steep and slippery and would have to be different for me to go again"
Gill - Aug 2020
"Our lodge was very comfortable. A large living/dining room, plenty of storage a modern kitchen and 2 good size bedrooms, each with it's own shower and bathroom. We also had our own private hot tub.
The few minor issues were sorted out very quickly by the efficient maintenance staff. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the right site for you. There is no shop or bar but it is near enough to the local village of Halwill where there is a lovely pub "The Junction Inn" and also a small convenience store.
There are plenty of lovely places to visit within an hour of the site, including Bude, Rosemoor Gardens and Dartmoor."
Carol - Aug 2020
"Overall very happy with my experience."
Drew - Mar 2020
"Absolutely loved this lodge. The only reason for marking a 9 is because we were disappointed that the jets in the lovely spa shower in the ensuite had been turned off due to mis-use from previous customers."
Liz - Nov 2019
"Amazing lodge and hot tub only thing it needs is wifi"
