Bryn Mechell

With a beautiful location in North Wales, Bryn Mechell lodges (some with private hot tubs) are the ideal escape for both families and couples.  The Snowdonia National Park with it's mountains and sparkling lakes is on the door step with an abundance of outdoor activities, or you could simply relax and watch the sun set and take in the amazing views.

The small collection of lodges and private driveway entrance give Bryn Mechell a somewhat exclusive feel and you will be just 2 miles from the pretty harbour village of Cemaes Bay.  The Anglesey coastline stretches for 125 miles and has been awarded "Area of Outstanding National Beauty", so there can be no better place to explore.

The lodges offer a spacious base for your holiday.  We love the Woodpecker Lodge which has the added bonus of an outdoor hot tub.  This lodge with 3 bedrooms has an open plan living space, floor to ceiling windows and outside decking.

We loved the lodge. It had everything we needed. Sometimes when you go away with your pets you find you are shoved in less than nice accommodation but this isn't the case here. You and your pets are made very welcome. I really cannot praise the site high enough immaculately clean, well looked after, well equipped with friendly staff who were always onhand without being over bearing. What more could you ask for? We WILL be back!!!

Lovely place, clean and tidy. Would visit again, stayed with hubby and dog, plenty of room to go with more family. Would love to go again and explore we went at Christmas to relax so didnt go out much.
Only issues was the bedroom window didnt seal properly so wind noise at night was bad and the draft we stayed in woodpecker lodge 1, less soloition in hot tube would be good as it was very strong and burnt my eyes and smell stayed on body for days after numerous showers. Oven smelt so needed to clean it before use. But would go again great location.

The static home was lovely. The only two things which could improve it were better heating when it's cold and little touches like egg cups etc as not a lot of kitchen things.

Our holiday was brilliant from start to finish. We met Jo when we first arrived who showed us around and went through the guest information with us.

The lodge was brilliant and had everything we needed. It was clean and tidy and we had been left a couple of bottles of wine for the weekend!

Hot tub great, the icing on the cake.

Date of stay: 17th February 2017
The lodge was a reasonable standard and initial impressions we were pleased. It was clean, roomy some nice touches by the owners like the table lavishly set with small bottles of wine as a welcoming pack. Some of the fixtures are dated. The fire didn't work but the owners had brought in an electric heater, the boiler kept going out and may require a service not an issue as my husband was a gas engineer so we could self remedy. The extractor fan was not working and actually fell on my head when trying to pipes and start it. It had a dishwasher but felt a washing machine would be a benefit for families staying a week when itching starts to run down. We contacted the site owners in relation to the requirement of a hose pipe but received no call back and ended up buying a hose pipe so we could wash our dog.
The location is stunning with excellent coastal walks, copper mines, castles and Snowdonia National park a 40 min drive so excellent days out in the longest zip wire and beautiful walks in Cappel Curig.
Would definitely go back.
Local pub was welcoming whilst we enjoyed watching England beating the Welsh Rugby team in the Six Nations completion.
Brilliant fun in the hot tub.
Definitely worth a visit

We had a lovely quiet break for a few days, and was just what we needed before all the Xmas madness, had some nice walks and caught up with friends, this place is just right if you want peace and quiet away from it all, if you want big holiday parks and shopping centres it's not the place for you, but if you want to sit and relax this is the place, hoping to come back again.

Penrhyn Castle is a neo-Norman castle is located in the stunning Gwynedd region of Wales. The castle will appeal to those who enjoy sites of historical interest as well as to families looking to enjoy a fun day out. The Castle is in very good condition and guided tours are on offer. Don't miss a look at the grand hall with its exquisite collection of paintings or the Victorian Kitchen which gives amazing insight into the running of the Castle. Other highlights include the Servants Rooms and the one ton slate bed which was originally made for Queen Victoria.

This attraction is really something special and has reached the finals of the "Best Family Day Out" category in the National Tourism Awards for Wales.  It's actually the only attraction in North Wales to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. Located in the Snowdonia region there are many rides and activities including Jungle Boat Adventure, Den Building, Green Dragon Roller Caoster, Treetop Towers and the BareFoot Trail.  Kids of all ages will love it here and we think it's excellent value as well.

A visit to Great Orme Ancient Mines is offers a fun and educational daytrip for families. The amazing site allows visitors to explore the copper mines which are thought to date back to the Bronze Age but were only discovered in 1987 during a landscaping project. The tours provide an insight into the way of life for miners over 3,500 years ago. A family ticket is just £16.00

Located in the North of Wales with a spectacular setting high above Colwyn Bay this is a lovely zoo which makes an excellent family day out.  Highlights include the Chimp Encounter, Penguin Parades, Bear Falls and the Children's Farm.  The setting is perfect for walking around and you can take in the superb scenery, roam the wooded pathways and relax on the grassy slopes.  There are many rare and endangered species to see and learn about including the Snow Leopards and the Red Pandas not to mention the Sumatran Tigers. You can also buy the experience of being a zoo keeper for a day, either for yourself or as a gift.

Glasfryn Activity Parc is an award winning year round attraction with plenty of facilities to keep the whole family happy. Quad Bikes, Archery, Soft Play and even Wakeboarding can all be enjoyed. The site also has a fantastic farm shop, a café and 10 pin bowing complex.
