Golden Cross Lodges

Golden Cross is an ideal base from which to explore East Sussex with its many historic towns and beautiful beaches. This is a peaceful location, right on the edge of the beautiful South Downs and close to Glyndebourne, Lewes and Brighton.

If walking and cycling are your thing, then this area is for you. The coastal path at Pevensey will take you past Pevensey Castle to Bexhill and then back again via Herstmonceux Castle and Observatory. The Cuckoo Trail at Eastbourne is perfect for families because it rarely crosses a main road.

Nordon Lodge Plus is a stunning lodge that sleeps up to four people with a double and a twin bedroom. It has a spacious, open plan living/dining area and patio doors that lead to decking and an outdoor hot tub. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with a dishwasher and washer/dryer.

A visit to the Hungry Monk in Polegate won't disappoint - it's a charming restaurant and renowned for its food which is a fusion of traditional and contemporary.

Date of stay: 18th March 2018
The welcome was warm, even though it was freezing cold and snowing! I had a one-night break with my daughter and 2 of her friends and they loved being able to use the private hot tub, especially in the snow! The lodge was beautiful and had everything that we needed. The dishwasher was broken, which wasn't the end of the world, but we were allowed a later check-out to make up for it. We'd love to go back again!
Christina, Farnham
Date of stay: 12th March 2018
Our lodge was clean, modern and spacious but the kitchen was sparsely kitted out.
Some of the furniture is already showing signs of wear unfortunately.
The hot tub was clean and well maintained.
Overall good value for money
Date of stay: 7th March 2018
The lodge was very spacious and clean. There was a decent amount of utensils for the purposes of self catering. En suite in the master bedroom as well as stand alone tub in the main bathroom. The hot tub was a welcome addition.
Louise, Eastbourne
Date of stay: 5th March 2018
Had a nice long weekend at Golden Cross park. Accommodation clean and warm, pleasantly surprised to find the hot-tub was more private than we had expected. Well equipped kitchen and a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar/sweetener and milk. Could just have done with some hooks by the hot tub to hang towels, hooks in the bathroom so you don't have to put clean clothes on the floor, and also some hooks in the twin bedroom as there is no room for a wardrobe in there.
Date of stay: 4th March 2018
Very good short break, would go back
Ian, Southampton
Date of stay: 2nd March 2018
Not much else to say about this park. It serves as a very comfortable base, to explore the local area. Fantastic staff and very different from other larger parks which tend to lack soul. Site is a bit close knit, but lodges are of a very high standard.
Date of stay: 25th February 2018
Very well equipped. Hot tub is great and staff are always on hand for any questions
Date of stay: 19th February 2018
Had a lovely weekend away relaxing, lodge was equipped with everything we needed, bed comfy, hot tub clean

Date of stay: 17th February 2018
Thank you so much for our lovely stay at your park.

I spent ages looking for somewhere last minute to book for our wedding anniversary that would let us check in on a Tuesday after my brother in laws wedding. I was hesitant to book at first as its a long drive from Plymouth with our 2 month old baby, but I am so glad I did.

Despite being stuck in traffic on our way, we had a phone call from the park and our lodge was opened and the heating out on in anticipation of our arrival, removing any stress from the arrival.

The lodge we stayed in was massive and I am currently using the long drive home to convince the husband that we could live there. The hot tub was perfect with plenty of privacy and obviously well maintained, with it being emptied and refilled during our stay.

The lodge was clean throughout and the park was a haven of peaceful tranquility which was exactly what we needed.

Despite the park being the perfect place to get away from it all, there was plenty to do in the nearby area. There was signs everywhere for nearby attractions I am already planning to visit with our daughter when she is a bit older and able to enjoy them. For now, we were able to explore nearby Eastbourne and Brighton which had plenty to do to keep us occupied. And we took a walk around Arlington reservoir. This treasure was just a few minutes drive away and was a lovely easy walk with beautiful views. We even (just about) managed to get the pram around (my husband ignored my suggestions of using the sling). We were spoilt for choice of nearby pubs to eat at and eventually decided on the plough inn where we had a delicious, huge meal with impeccable service.

Thank you so much for a brilliant few days away, we will be back!

Date of stay: 12th August 2016
Lodge was clean and contemporary. We loved the outside space and hot tub.
The only disappointment was no storage for clothes in the twin room, we had to use the storage cupboard. Also if you travel with 2 cars, there is a lack of parking spaces and lodges are quite close together but then I think this was reflected in the price. Still great value for an August holiday.
Date of stay: 27th June 2016
Great lodge - only comment would be it was a little cramped. But the decor and fixtures & fittings were great.
Christine, Reading
Date of stay: 18th June 2016

Helen, Ipswich
Date of stay: 18th March 2016
Cosy warm lodge. Good position for both Brighton and Eastbourne. Hot tub well maintained throughout stay. Would benefit from some routine maintenance for second bathroom shower and checking of light bulbs. Master en-suite shower could have a de-moulding session, nothing a bottle of bleach would sort out!. Staff very friendly. Would return again.
Nathan, Leeds
Date of stay: 14th March 2016
The furniture was nice, but some of the chairs around the table were a bit broken.
Karen, Northfleet

Just the small things, like hand wash, hand cream, dish washing tablets even washing powder supplied in the unit.
Hot tub... Amazing!!!!
Will definitely be back soon!
U will need a car to get around the town

Our stay at the lodge its self it was just what qe wanted really clean and tidy.. only thing we had to pay £5 pound for iron.. which I think a bit silly...
The lodge its self is perfect loved that.. just all there is is a petrol station opposite lodge....
Nothing to do at all really every thing u have to drive not what we thought re location... but lodge its self cant moan at all very clean and tidy ...

I had my elderly mother with me who uses wheelchair and walking frame, when I booked I asked if there was steps and was told there was just one.bathroom not easy if you need a walking frame.could not close bedroom door with two single beds in it.
Perhaps I should have asked if it was suitable for disabled rather than than saying elderly.no problems anywhere else in the lodge.
Jody, Luton
Date of stay: 4th May 2015
overall really enjoyed our weekend there nice and relaxing. wasn't anything to do nearby without having to venture miles away so park could really do with some amenities added. would recommend to others for a nice chilled break and apartment and hot tub was amazing. was a little disappointed that got told towels would be supplied and we only received 1 each for the whole 4 days we was there which didn't think was acceptable but apart from that very very nice.

very comfortable everything in the lodge was like new 2 points that would help your stay more relaxing is by adding darker curtains in the bedrooms and by having fabric sofas instead of the plastic ones as they are like sitting on concrete Big Bonus HOT TUB it was AMAZING

Date of stay: 3rd January 2014
Great lodge, comfortable & an amazing hot tub
A good break. Just what we wanted. A good comfortable bed. All the things needed within a lodge to complete a good holiday. The hot tub/ Spa was refilled and cleaned everyday & ready for use when we got there.
The lodge site was clam and peaceful. Each lodge had it's own car parking space and hot tub (which was not overlooked). The tea, coffee and milk were a lovely touch on arrival. The site was chosen as a base and we were able to explore both Brighton, Beachy Head and Eastbourne from it.
Great place, stayed in Selby which was lovely, clean and comfortable. Quiet area but close to Eastbourne and Brighton. Nearby amenities and local villages and towns. Definitely stay again.
Great spec lodge and had a nice, chilled stay. The staff we excellent and very polite. Only bugbear was a lack of stuff to do in the local area.
Excellent location and value, no play area for kids, but we haven’t got kids, just an observation. Lovely pub in chiddlingly 1.3 mile walk away, great food and drink and very friendly atmosphere. Seven sisters country park is a short journey away for a nice cloud top walk. Eastbourne is close also for shopping and a walk along the seafront. The cuckoo trail is nearby again also for a nice walk, cycle or run👍
The lodge was clean, modern and warm. The Hot tub was fantastic, nice and quiet but could do with a pub or food places closer to the park so you can walk to them rather than drive. The location was very central so can drive to most places within 40 mins.
Loved this lodge..when we walked into it me and my wife both said wow we could live here lol one thing we would change is the sofa (maybe a 2 seater and a 3 seater). Again we loved this lodge.
Lovely lodge on a very quiet site with a hot tub!
Great relaxing holiday with the benefit of hot tub and dressing room!
Lovely lodge in immaculate condition. Nice quiet site. Great hot tub. Location of site is good as a base for exploring but not the most inspiring location just off main busy road. This didn’t bother us though as we didn’t really notice the road noise and it was so lovely within the small site.
The lodge was very spacious and fittings looked brand new. The view from the decking and hot tub in lodge 6 overlooked a field which was lovely. It was also next to a small Lane so there was some traffic but the bedrooms were the other end so did not hear any noise. The location is small with no other facilities which did not matter to us as we wanted a central base to explore the area. The site managers were very helpful and let me have another frying pan and some salt. We will definitely go back
Excellent get away weekend loved the hot tub!!
I wish i stayed longer but it was very pleasant.
