Shear Barn Holiday Park Reviews

"Really worth trying out"
Amira Patel - Feb 2025
"Spacious and clean, good value overall."
Alison - Jan 2025
"We had an amazing time at the lodge, honestly. Everything was spot on, except for the seating situation. Theres just one sofa and two arm chairs, which isnt really enough for six of us. We managed to squeeze three on the sofa, but then someone ended up on the floor or a dining chair. Its a small thing, but it did matter a bit. Apart from that, everything else was just perfect. Wed definitely come back!"
Jessie - Dec 2024
"The lodge was lovely overall, but a closer look showed some sofas and chairs could really do with a good deep clean. Still enjoyed it though!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"Our Shear Barn Holiday Park review: Nice place, friendly staff too"
Martin - Oct 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay! The place was super comfortable and spacious, with all the little touches like towels, dressing gowns and even shampoo and soap, which was thoughtful. The kitchen had everything we needed, from fridge to dishwasher and the hot tub was nicely tucked away for privacy. Definitely a great spot for a relaxing break!"
Claire - Sep 2024
"Our stay at Glenside 19 Superior was quite enjoyable overall. The photos online made it look newer than it actually was, but honestly, it didnt really matter too much since the lodge was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully designed. Shearbarn park was super peaceful, which we loved and we took full advantage of all the facilities, including a free swim at the complex just by showing our key fob. We booked from Monday to Friday during the summer holidays and it was perfect timing. The view from the van was stunning and we spent loads of time just relaxing on the balcony. Hastings is really close by too, just a quick 6-minute drive and park. Our children had a fantastic holiday, so thank you! Would definitely stay again in the same lodge and wed recommend it to others."
Alexandra - Aug 2024
"Really enjoyed, definitely returning soon."
Jessica - Aug 2024
"We really enjoyed how peaceful the park was during our visit, it was just what we needed. The restaurant being closed didnt bother us at all since we werent after activities anyway. Overall, a lovely spot!"
Amelia - Aug 2024
"We recently stayed at this place and honestly, it was just what we needed. Perfect for bringing the dog along, the lodge was spacious and had a lovely enclosed outdoor area, which was great for letting our pup roam freely. The location is fantastic - right next to the county park and only a short drive to the beach, so theres plenty to do. We appreciated that because of the hilltop setting, most lodges had decent views rather than facing straight into neighbours, which weve experienced at other parks and didnt like. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which made things even better. The lodge itself was well equipped, though we did notice it was missing a chopping board and baking tray - not a huge deal since we only cooked one meal (which was basically just reheating a pizza). We didnt use the second bedroom, but when we were packing up, we found the vacuum tucked away in the wardrobe - wish wed known, couldve used it! On our arrival day, the weather was surprisingly warm and sunny, but the lodge was roasting as all the windows were shut and curtains drawn in the south-facing room - it felt more like a greenhouse! We couldnt cool it down that first evening, despite opening everything up. Still, overall, a good stay!"
Jenna - Jul 2024
"Great view, comfy and charming"
Charlotte - Mar 2024
"Great experience overall"
Selina - Mar 2024
"We planned a surprise birthday getaway for five days and honestly, it was fantastic. Ocean View 7 was perfect-bright, roomy and well-equipped with a washer, dryer, dishwasher and our own hot tub. Cant wait to come back!"
Michael - Feb 2024
"We had an absolutely lovely stay! The staff were genuinely wonderful, especially when we needed an extra table and chairs for Christmas dinner. The reception team sorted it out quickly and without any hassle, which was much appreciated. The van was spotless and very comfortable, with nice beds that made us feel at home. Though, I do think a 'superior' van should have an en suite bathroom and if there's a power and aerial socket in the bedroom, a TV would be a nice touch to really call it top of the range. But honestly, these were just minor niggles and didnt affect our overall experience. Were already excited about returning in 2024. Great job, team! Looking forward to it!"
Emily and James - Dec 2023
"The place was spotless, really thoughtfully designed and super easy to get around. We loved it!"
Alex - Dec 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge had all we needed and then some. The peaceful setting and friendly staff made it perfect."
James - Nov 2023
"We stayed in a super clean caravan and the price was pretty decent. The only hiccup was the gas oven-couldnt quite figure it out, but thats probably on us. Still, a great place Id recommend!"
Sam - Nov 2023
"Great service, very pleased"
Sophie - Oct 2023
"We loved the hot tub and the location. Walking to the sea front was easy and relaxing, making our stay really enjoyable. Definitely recommend for a chill getaway!"
Rachel - Sep 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back."
Jamie - Aug 2023
"Overall, we found the lodge to be spacious and cosy, offering good value. The only downside was a new tree blocking our sea view from the balcony, which was a bit disappointing. Still, we enjoyed our stay!"
Pauline - Aug 2023
"Comfortable, friendly, decent stay"
Samir - Jul 2023
"Very comfy and smooth ride"
Simon - Jul 2023
"The holiday home had a bit of an ant problem, which was a bit disappointing. When we tried to lower the bathroom blind, it fell on my mum - quite a shock! Also, no can opener, despite telling reception. Otherwise, a lovely stay."
Sarah - Jun 2023
"Nice break, really enjoyed the overall experience here."
Mark - Jun 2023
"Really happy with the service; we've already told a neighbour whos booked for next year."
Chris - May 2023
"Would be great to see some everyday spices like salt and pepper available here."
Oliver - Aug 2020
"Great space and spotless clean! Definitely recommend."
Harper - Jul 2020
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge was cosy, staff friendly and being so close to Hastings made exploring easy. Cant wait to visit again when the weathers better!"
Daniel - Jan 2020
"We had an amazing week at this lodge, the hot tub was a real highlight, so relaxing!"
David - Oct 2019
"We love Hastings and Shear Barn is a perfect base to explore the area. If you're walking be prepared for "the hill"..."
Julie - Jul 2022
"Lovely stay, lodge very nice and well equipped, decking area a little tired and some parts broken Beautiful views and surrounding beaches ideal for dogs"
Louise - Jul 2022
"Lovely lodge with great scenery. Nice and quiet."
Matthew - Jul 2022
"Firstly it was fantastic weather which always helps the holiday. The view of the sea and the fern glens were great. The Lodge was clean and comfortable. It is about a mile and half to Hastings sea front, which is downhill on the way in, but a bit of a climb coming back for older people like us, so we tended to get a taxi back (about £6:50, so pretty much the same as for parking). And if you are people who enjoy walking it is a wonderful area. There is not a great deal onsite in regard to entertainment, a bar, a restaurant and a small swimming pool, so if you are people who want a lot of onsite entertainment this is probably not the site for you. We greatly enjoyed it though, very friendly, and we found plenty to do in and around Hastings."
Angela - Jul 2022
"Lovely quiet place. The park itself is spotless and well maintained."
Tracie - Jul 2022
"Gorgeous lodge, lovely, quiet, well looked after site. Small shop could be better stocked, the only downside. Pool was good, staff in reception really helpful when asked for directions locally to the town and walk around Hastings park. Had a lovely week and would definitely recommend."
Sarah - Jul 2022
"Very nice quiet park we stayed in glen side with a hottub would definitely come again"
Daniel - Jul 2022
"Wonderful holiday and staff very helpful. Will be going again."
Lisa - Jul 2022
"Lodge lovely ? on site facilities pool very small bar area just ok"
Mark - Jul 2022
"Easy Check-in; Clear Directions to Lodge; Clean Comfortable and Well-equipped Accommodation; Quiet Cliff-top Site; Good Site Facilities; Well-maintained Pool; Easy Access to Coast Path and Country Park for Short or Long Walks to East or West to Hastings and beyond; Quick Maintenance Response to Minor Plumbing Issue; Easy Check-out. Walk into Hastings or other beaches requires negotiation of steep slopes and/or steps (or the use of the cliff railway into Hastings); All Staff were Helpful and Efficient. We had a Really Relaxing Break and enjoyed the local area, site facilities, and particularly the easy access to coastal paths for walking."
Phil - Jul 2022
"Really nice peaceful place in a nice location with lots of wildlife. The guy in reception was very happy and helpful which is a nice greeting after a long drive."
Mikaela - Jul 2022
