Lower Fishpools Lodges

Wales Powys Bleddfa

Nestling right on the edge of Radnor Forest, with its excellent walking routes high above the valleys, Lower Fishpools Lodges is a rural retreat with a multitude of lanes and tracks for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. This is the perfect holiday destination for people who love outdoor activities but who also enjoy relaxing in a luxurious and stylish lodge with a sunken hot tub and gorgeous views across Welsh countryside.

Powys is at the heart of Wales and has a diverse landscape that encompasses wild mountains and valleys, medieval castles and secluded villages. There is a wealth of pubs and restaurants within easy driving distance – The Crown Inn at Powys is very close and serves traditional home cooked food with a great choice of beers. Lower Fishpools has its own stables so it is ideal for keen horse riders.

Bleddfa Lodge is beautifully designed and equipped with everything you might need in a luxurious holiday home. It sleeps up to four people – the double bedroom has an ensuite shower and there is also a family bathroom. The living area is spacious and open plan and has a log burner for cosy evenings in and the large decked verandah has garden furniture and a sunken hot tub

There is a riding school at Underhill Stables in Llandrindod Wells where you can enjoy the beauty of the countryside on horseback, whatever your age or ability. You could go trout and Grayling fishing on the banks of the River Wye and bird watching at Gilfach Nature Reserve in Rhayader.

Our Top Tip
"Hereford Cathedral is well worth a visit, as is the lovely town of Ludlow with its winding streets and excellent choice of restaurants."

Overall very nice lodge. Lovely surrounding towns and forest and close to elan valley. Lodge could so with a lick of paint in parts and a feather dusting for the odd cobbweb i noticed. Apart a txt for the security box for the key the owner didn't introduce themselves at all, not a big deal but some would have liked been shown around. The surrounding towns are nice enough but very little there. Also phone signal and internet is non-existent in these lodges!! Hot tub really nice, lights in tub not working with only 1 overhead spot light which otherwise would be pitch black outside. Had a nice time. Would be a good base to spend a week with the intention of travelling the area.

Had a lovely 5 days at the lodge. Beautiful views and lodge is well equipped and very comfortable. We had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend it. Hot tub is lovely to get in after a long walk too!!
Amazing place and area. 3rd stay at lower fishpools and can't wait for my next visit
Enjoyed the solitude & location.
Stunning cabin... log fire is a gorgeous bonus and the hot tub is Stunning!! Views are just what you need when you need to get away from it all. The cabin has everything you could possibly need. The owner was very helpful and so were her daughter who we met on our first day. We absolutely loved staying here so much we booked to come back for later this year in December which I'm hoping it will snow so the hit tub will be extra special!!
We are a family of four and our dog, we spent an amazingly peaceful Xmas here. The lodge was clean and homely with everything we needed, there was a TV in both bedrooms and living space. We had family games, books and dvds to watch provided by the lodge, the views from the hot tub were breath taking, the walks were beautiful and the log burner was romantic. The gated space around the lodge giving you your own personal front and back garden was perfect for the dog as he was free to run around without fear of him running off. An exceptionally special place.
Spotlessly clean. Hot tub clean and well-maintained. All home essentials, inc dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The lack of wifi and a phone signal was an added bonus! A real get-away-from-it-all retreat.
Fantastic relaxing break with nice walks in the forest.Warm log burner and luxurious hot tub, perfect for recharging your batteries. We will definitely be returning 👌👍
We had a brilliant, relaxing stay at Lower Fishpools. The lodge was very clean and comfortable and the wood burner made it very cosy! Everything you needed was provided in the lodge and little extras such as a welcome pack and hot tub towels were much appreciated. The views were beautiful- especially in all the snow we had! It was a perfect, relaxing early Christmas break away from our busy lives and the no WiFi was great as it meant we had some quality family time (sledging, walking in the snow, relaxing in the lovely hot tub, playing board games, eating etc.) The owners were friendly and really helpful: providing updates on the road conditions in the snow, bringing us extra logs as well as clearing the snow on the road to the lodge. It was very private and the garden area was great for our dog. We have already recommended the lodge to our friends and hope to visit again soon.
Beautiful location next to the forest and the Warren Woods waterfall is a must see!! The lodge is perfect, enclosed garden too which was perfect for our dog. Nice welcome pack including essentials like tea, coffee and milk and some Welsh cakes too! Jenny, the owner, just leaves you to enjoy your break but always on hand if needed and very helpful. Wonderful getaway and as always the hot tub was the icing on the cake!
Great dog friendly cabin lovely walks ...owner always happy to help if needed ....
2nd time staying here and it gets better and better. so relaxed when im walking the dogs through the forest.
