The Astbury Reviews

"We had a fantastic stay! The lodge truly felt like a home away from home with all the essentials. Only tiny thing is a small TV in one bedroom would be a bonus."
Emily Carter - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge had all we needed and was top quality throughout."
Alex - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was lovely and cosy."

Emma Clarke - Mar 2025
"Our The Astbury review: Really loved the place, felt super cosy and the hot tub was a highlight! Definitely returning."
Emma - Mar 2025
"Chestnut Lodge felt really cosy and had a lovely view, plus the outdoor decking with furniture was a nice touch. The heating was easy to control and kept us warm, which is always a bonus. The place was well stocked with appliances like a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, even if we didn't use all of them. The only downside was the TV - it was a bit complicated and there werent clear instructions for basic channels like BBC and ITV. Still, overall, a great stay and wed definitely return!"
Emily Harper - Mar 2025
"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge! Everything was of high quality, super cosy, warm and comfy. Its a fantastic spot for any season, honestly. Would definitely recommend it!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the location was perfect and loads of charming towns nearby! Definitely coming back."
Mike - Feb 2025
"We spent a lovely weekend at Astbury, staying in one of their stunning on-site lodges. The location was just perfect, with the lodge sitting right beside a gentle waterfall - so peaceful and calming. Our lodge had a fantastic outdoor hot tub built into the decking, which was a real highlight. The privacy was well thought out, thanks to the glass railing and clever furniture placement, so we felt completely comfortable relaxing outside without feeling watched. Inside, the lodge was spotless and well-equipped, with all the essentials plus a little welcome pack - tea, coffee, sugar, milk, cookies and even some cleaning supplies like a sponge, dish soap, dishwasher tablets and bin bags. The bed was incredibly comfy and the overall living space was just lovely. The staff were super friendly and helpful; they even checked us in early and answered our questions about hiring tennis equipment for the courts. Honestly, we had such a great time and cant wait to return to Astbury soon. Were excited to see how the site changes over the next few months. Thanks for making our anniversary so special - we truly loved it!"
Harper - Feb 2025
"We really loved our stay here! The team at check-in were super friendly and made us feel right at home. The lodge itself was gorgeous, spotless and had all the essentials we needed. The hot tub was a highlight-so private and easy to operate. Plus, the little touches like biscuits and tea bags made it extra special. Well definitely be back!"
Emma - Feb 2025
"We had a really nice few days over New Year. The lodge was gorgeous and the kitchen had everything we needed. Plus, relaxing in the hot tub was definitely a highlight for us!"
Emma - Jan 2025

Sam - Dec 2024
"Great stay, the garden was super secure and the place was spotless throughout! Excellent experience."
Hannah Carter - Dec 2024
"We loved the lodge! Its spacious and really beautiful. The variety of board games, puzzles and Xbox kept the kids entertained. The only thing missing was some lighting around the jacuzzi area. Still, wed definitely come back and recommend it to others!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, peaceful and relaxing."
James - Nov 2024
"We had an amazing stay! The lodge was super clean and beautifully decorated. Its really spacious, with everything you need for a comfy break. The hot tub was a highlight. First visit for us, but definitely not the last. Cant wait to return!"

Emma - Nov 2024
"Great stay, would recommend!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The shower was fantastic, definitely the best we've experienced and having a massive TV in the living room was a bonus. Lodge 26 was super private with its own parking. Wed love to come back in spring or summer for some relaxing evenings away from everything!"
Emily - Nov 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay overall, even though the dishwasher was out of order. Staff were helpful and gave us washing liquid. Lovely lodge, would definitely come back!"
Emma Davies - Nov 2024
"Really impressed with the quality and value at The Astbury. Its rare to find such a place that ticks all boxes. Well done!"
Oliver - Oct 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay here"
Emma - Oct 2024
"Overall, we had a lovely stay. The only downside was the main TV not working, which was a bit of a letdown."
Emma - Oct 2024
"The lodge was really charming, but we missed having live TV - the Fire Stick isnt quite the same. Also, no clear instructions on how to operate the heating, which was a bit frustrating. Luckily, the staff helped us out quickly."
Emma - Sep 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the place was spotless and super comfy. Hot tub was great!"
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"We stayed at the lodge recently and it was a lovely quiet spot, perfect for relaxing. The outdoor area was really nice, especially with the good weather and the hot tub was spotlessly clean and a real treat. The lodge itself was a bit smaller than we expected, but still comfy enough for our stay. We did notice a few missing utensils which wouldve made BBQs easier and cupboard space was quite limited. There were some ongoing works nearby, but it didnt bother us much. Overall, a cosy place with great scenery!"
James - Aug 2024
"We stayed at The Sycamore Lodge and were a bit disappointed. The second bedroom is quite tiny compared to other Hoseason lodges weve been to, which makes it feel less like a proper luxury lodge. Some essentials youd expect, like a hairdryer, soap, toiletries and coffee pods, were missing - and the pod selection was overwhelming, so we couldn't really bring our own. Also, no robes or plastic glasses for the hot tub, which we've had at other parks. On the bright side, the decor and cleanliness were really top-notch, but overall, it felt more like a fancy caravan than a true lodge."
Emma Thompson - Aug 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was perfect for us."
Emma - Aug 2024
"Honestly, our first stay at the Astbury (Oak Lodge VIP) has totally won us over - its now our go-to spot! Were not into golf, so I cant really comment on the golf facilities, but I have to say, the grounds are stunning. We took a stroll around and its just so peaceful and beautifully maintained, really makes you feel like youre somewhere special. One day, we decided to grab lunch at the Potting Shed, which is this lovely outdoor cafe nestled right in the gardens. It was perfect for us since we didnt want to let our 4-year-old run wild in the Montgomeries Restaurant - which, by the way, looks lovely but we chose the more relaxed outdoor option instead. The staff there, especially Rachel (sorry if I got her name wrong), was super helpful, explaining that we could sit inside with the little one or outside on the terrace, no problem. The menu is pretty good, with a decent kids selection too, so everyones happy. Our lodge, Oak Lodge VIP number 43 in The Rookery, was honestly one of the best weve stayed in. Very modern furnishings, with a TV in each room and an Xbox in the living room - although, note, no games included so bring your own if you want to play. There are plenty of family board games too, like Monopoly, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit and some puzzles which kept everyone entertained. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need - washing machine, dishwasher, utensils, you name it. We received a small welcome pack with a tiny WUL, sponge, dishwasher tablets, bin bags and a washing tablet - very thoughtful. The only thing missing was an iron and ironing board, which wouldve been handy. Theres a hairdryer in the main bedroom, so no worries there. Now, the BBQ - a Kamado Bono - took a bit of getting used to, but honestly, its the best BBQ Ive ever used. Just be patient with the heating up time. The hot tub was a real highlight; it was ready to go as soon as we arrived and kept at the perfect temperature all the time, thanks to a guy who comes by each morning around 9am to maintain it. The staff at the Astbury are all fantastic - groundsmen greeting you with a smile, courteous hot tub guys and friendly reception staff who really know their stuff. Were already planning to come back next year - Bridgnorth is such a quirky little town, just our kinda place. Its full of small, independent shops and has a Harry Potter vibe running through it. Taking the Cliff Railway up to the town centre is a must, where youll find loads of cute cafes and shops. Ridleys at the bottom of the railway is a lovely spot for a drink, overlooking the River Severn. If youre into footgolf, theres a nearby course in Highly - well signposted and very reasonable, £6 for adults and £3 for kids under 12 for 12 holes. Honestly, I loved every minute of my stay at the Astbury - cant wait to return!"
