Woodland Park Lodges Reviews

"We booked this lodge pretty much last minute and honestly, it was a great choice considering how many similar places there are around Shropshire. We picked this one mainly because of its size and the woodland setting - I was really eager to get some wildlife shots while we were there. Weve stayed at Henlle Hall before when it first opened, so we were debating whether to go back or try somewhere new. In all honesty, if wed never been to another lodge, this one wouldve scored a solid 5 out of 5. The only reason were giving it a 4 is because theres just the one TV. We love snuggling up in the bedroom with the telly on, but the main TV in the living room only worked with the smart channels. We only figured out why on the last day - turns out, previous guests had probably wanted a telly in the bedroom, so they pulled all the cables out of the main TV, watched it in there, then returned it to the lounge and only plugged it into the mains. The bathroom shower was a bit disappointing too - only one setting that felt like 'burn off skin', though luckily there are two other showers that were perfectly fine. We stayed in another lodge in North Wales last year and that owner provided tea, coffee and other essentials, but this place only had a pint of milk waiting for us which was a bit of a letdown. On the bright side, the hot tub was one of the best weve ever used - spotless and with a working cover, which made a big difference. The team did an excellent job cleaning the lodge beforehand; it was spotlessly tidy. Sadly, the only wildlife we spotted was a cat in the woods. If you're after a secluded spot for long dog walks and peace and quiet, then this place is perfect. I do regret we didnt stay at Henlle Hall again - missed the restaurant, bar and the chance to see more wildlife, but overall, it was a lovely stay!"
Sam - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed the stay"
Alex - Mar 2025
"We really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the poo bags and dog bins at both ends of the trail - such a simple idea but makes a big difference. The accommodation itself was spacious and comfortable, especially loved the outside balcony with the heater, perfect for chilly days. The kitchen and bathroom were just the right size and well-equipped and the heater kept us cosy. Being dog-friendly was a huge plus, with treats, milk and jam waiting for us - definitely a place wed return to!"
Jamie - Mar 2025
"We had an awesome stay at Woodl and Park for our anniversary! The treehouse was spotless and super peaceful, honestly impossible not to unwind there. The hot tub was brilliant and the Bluetooth speakers plus mood lighting added a nice touch. The woodland walk was a bit muddy, but nothing major. Its only about 10 minutes to Tesco and Ellesmere by car. WiFi was a little patchy, but no big deal. We definitely want to come back!"
Emily - Mar 2025
"Our Woodland Park Lodges review: We had an amazing time! The place was perfect for our family celebration, with different age groups and even our two dogs. Everyone loved it. Sad to leave, but well definitely be returning soon. Highly recommend for a fun getaway!"
Rachel - Jan 2025
"Staff really need to improve safety measures."
Emma - Dec 2024
"We had a really nice stay! The lodge was spotless and well-equipped in the kitchen. It was super relaxing, though the sofas werent the comfiest-pillows helped. Definitely planning to come back again!"
Alex - Dec 2024
"Really enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere, perfect for a break."
Emma - Nov 2024
"The sofas were quite compact and not very plush, which was a bit disappointing. The lodge was well kitted out, though. Couldve used extra towels and robes, honestly. The smell was a real downer, as we mentioned before."
Emma Carter - Nov 2024
"Quite cosy, but feels tight."
Oliver - Oct 2024
"Great experience, would recommend!"
Clara Morgan - Oct 2024
"Absolutely loved our stay! The treehouse was charming and the hot tub made it extra special. Perfect escape."
Sarah - Oct 2024
"We had a lovely stay again this year. The peaceful setting, with just squirrels for company, was perfect. Accommodation was superb."
Emma Clarke - Sep 2024
"Overall, we had a lovely stay! The house was really nice, but there were a few small issues like a dripping shower and a freezer that needed defrosting. The waste bin lid was broken and the thermostat needed new batteries. Nothing major, though and we told them about it. Still, we'd come back!"
Emma Roberts - Sep 2024
"We had such a lovely time at the Snowdrop treehouse! The place really is stunning and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was super well stocked with plenty of plates, cutlery and pots - even a full-sized fridge freezer and a separate wine fridge, which was a nice touch. The lounge was perfect for relaxing, with a cosy sofa, a big TV and that lovely feature fireplace. The bedroom was really comfy, with a big bed and a walk-in wardrobe, plus an en-suite with a large shower. We loved the outside area too - secure decking with fantastic views and a great hot tub. We even hired the gazebo for extra privacy, which was just perfect. Only tiny thing: the gate bars are a bit wide, so we had to block it off for our small dog. Wed definitely come back!"
Alex Morgan - Sep 2024
"We had a lovely stay, the cabin was super cosy, will definitely return!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"Lovely place, we felt so relaxed."
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the place was spotless and in a perfect spot. Cheers!"
Oliver - Aug 2024
"Spacious and spotless, definitely exceeded our expectations. Would recommend!"
Emma - Aug 2024
"Great spot, peaceful, easy to get to, we love it!"
Emma Carter - May 2024
"We had a lovely stay! The cottages are super cosy and the location is perfect for exploring nearby towns and beautiful walks. The hot tubs nestled among the trees are such a treat and each lodge offers plenty of privacy. Only tiny thing was the beds, they werent the comfiest, but overall, we thought it was fantastic value and a great break!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"We recently stayed at this lodge and honestly, it was a pretty nice experience. The location is lovely, especially if you enjoy woodl and walks - really peaceful. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The hot tub was a real highlight, perfect for relaxing after a day out. Wed definitely consider returning, especially if you hire the gazebo - it adds a really nice touch. The facilities are good too, with showers that have decent pressure and stay hot, which is always appreciated. That said, the cleanliness couldve been better; we did a quick sweep when we arrived and managed to clear quite a bit of dust, especially under the beds. But honestly, it didnt ruin our trip. WiFi was a bit patchy, so downloading films beforeh and is a good idea - luckily, free DVDs in reception are a lovely bonus. The only minor annoyance was the lighting - they take a while to warm up and arent very straightforward to figure out. Otherwise, a solid stay!"
James - Apr 2024
"Overall, the place looked spotless at first glance, with the kitchen, cooker and fridge all very tidy. The shower, however, was a bit grimy, with hair clogging the plug hole. We didnt dig deeper, but a good clean might sort it out. Nothing major though, really!"
Samira - Mar 2024
"We recently stayed at the Orchid Treehouse and honestly, it was such a lovely place! The house itself is stunning, with a really cosy vibe. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, which was a relief, especially since we had muddy paws after walking the dog - the washing machine came in really handy for that. The living room was a highlight, with a smart TV that kept us entertained. The fireplace was gorgeous and put out plenty of heat, perfect for chilly evenings. The bathrooms were spotless, stocked with toilet paper and hand wash, which is always nice. The only minor issue was that the shower was a bit shallow at the bottom, so it sometimes overflows if youre not careful. Towels were plentiful - green and white so we could tell apart which was for the hot tub and which was for indoor use. The hot tub itself was fantastic: huge, hot and super clean - exactly what we needed. The garden furniture and balcony were a definite 10/10, really comfy and perfect for lounging. The bedrooms are a tad snug, but manageable - Im 5ft 4 and my feet were hanging off the end of the bed, so a slightly bigger bed would be a bonus. Theres plenty of storage with wardrobes and drawers, plus a hairdryer. We also appreciated the little cupboard with essentials like a broom, dustpan, iron and clothes horse. We tried the woodl and walk, but it was incredibly muddy and slippy, not suitable for prams, so be warned. We drove to Tesco, which was about 7 minutes away, but found it quite a bit pricier than our local store, so shopping beforeh and might be smarter. Overall, a great stay!"
Emma and Liam - Feb 2024
"We stayed at Beech Lodge and found it quite cosy for four adults. The bed was super comfy and the heating kept us warm. The hot tub was well maintained, which was a nice bonus. Just a few bits in the kitchen could do with updating-like sharper knives and a proper chopping board. Overall, a good stay!"
Emma Carter - Feb 2024
"Great experience, would repeat"
Emma Collins - Feb 2024
"We had such a lovely stay at the Woodl and Lodge! The location was perfect for exploring and the surrounding woodl and walk was brilliant for a bit of outdoor fun. The lodge itself was spotless, with all the facilities working perfectly - we didnt need to bring a thing. The furniture was comfy and looked after, which made relaxing so easy. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, especially after a day out. Plus, its super handy to get into Ellesmere, whether for parks, shopping, or the gin distillery! Big thanks to the staff for the helpful visitor guide. Wed happily come back!"
Emma Carter - Jan 2024
"We've just finished our 9th trip to Woodl and Park Lodges and its still as lovely as ever. The lodges are spacious and nestled in gorgeous woodl and. Perfect for family chill-outs and unwinding together. Honestly, we love it here! Its become a bit of a tradition for us now."
Emma - Jan 2024
"We had such a lovely, relaxing stay at Woodl and Willow Lodge. The hot tub was perfectly private and the setting was so peaceful and quiet-exactly what we needed. The bed was super comfy and the shower was great. The only downside was the couches, which werent very comfy. Still, wed definitely return!"
Emma Carter - Jan 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay; would recommend!"
Emma Carter - Jan 2024
"Lovely stay in the Beech Lodge. Very clean and organised. Had everything we needed. Hot tub was great for relaxing when the children were asleep, although we found that the temperature wouldn't turn down even though we kept setting it to lower; it was a little bit too hot for us after about 20 mins. Location is good, we visited Shrewsbury, Ellesmere, Colwyn Bay, the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Chester Zoo and the British Iron Works. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a lovely stay; we only wish it was longer."
April - Jul 2022
"The only issues I have with the place are petty and unimportant, of things they have no control over such as the lack of phone signal and wifi. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again!"
Samuel - Jul 2022
"Private hot tub, wifi intermittent. Stayed in redwood large lodge short walk to picnic area and had anchors to attach dogs leads which was a bonus."
Cheryl - Jul 2022
"fantastic place to relax"
Robert - Jul 2022
