Woodland Park Lodges

Situated deep within the unspoilt countryside of Shropshire, this exclusive and peaceful site provides an idyllic rural retreat. We recommend Woodland Park Lodges to families looking for somewhere to relax and couples seeking a romantic escape.

The site is located just a few minutes from the charming lakeside town of Ellesmere. Here visitors will find a selection of shops, cafes and pubs. Shropshire is considered to be the green heart of England and walking and cycling are excellent ways to explore. Snowdonia National Park is also within reach offering easy access to numerous outdoor pursuits. Back onsite there is an adventure playground for children and a clubhouse.

There are several types of lodge to choose from, but the VIP lodges are the ones to go for if a private hot tub is desirable. Cedar Lodge VIP and Elm Lodge VIP both sleep 6 and are perfect for families or groups. Oak Lodge VIP sleep 8 and are a good option for larger parties as they are very spacious. All lodges are very well equipped for self catering and have all the mod cons including flat screen TVs. Many of the lodges have beautiful woodland views from the hot tubs.

Date of stay: 29th June 2018
We stayed in Elm lodge which was well equipped and spacious. We were there for the hottest week of the year but luckily both the lodge and the hot tub were in the shade! Theres not much to see or do in Ellesmere except for the mere which is beautiful and the Boathouse restaurant next to it where we had a lovely lunch but theres loads of places in driving distance - we went to Shrewsbury and Chester Zoo. There are some great pubs in the area too particularly the Burlton Inn and the Cross Foxes. The lodges are perfect if youre looking for a quiet and peaceful woodland setting but maybe not for you if you want lots to do on your doorstep.
Linda, Stalybridge
Date of stay: 29th June 2018
Would recommend to anyone.
Jennifer, Manchester
Date of stay: 29th June 2018
The lodge was lovely, well equipped kitchen, nice hot tub and comfy beds. Tv signal was rubbish at times but not that bothered. A fence closing the back of the property would have been ideal so the dogs could come and go as they pleased.

Date of stay: 23rd March 2018
A fantastic holiday we had in March 2018.
The cabin was immaculate and a nice welcome from the staff at the park.
Jacuzzi was great and was used every day, nice looking out at the trees and stars in the night time whilst lovely and warm in the hot tub.
Nice walks straight from the lodges and only 10 mins drive from Ellesmere and Colemere, both have nice walks around them.
Will definitely be returning, we had a very relaxing and peaceful break.

We had a lovely week over Christmas, The hot tub was fun

Overall the Log Cabin was well maintained and all amenities were very good.

The provision of a Christmas tree was a nice touch

Wifi not too good, if you need fast speed wifi while away this is not the place to be. We

didn't mind too much, however.
Dawn, Nottingham
Date of stay: 29th December 2017
leather sofa- normal for rentals I know - but not the most snug on a winter evening
TV reception poor and intermittent - recommend you bring DVDs .

It was a beautiful, restful spot, tucked into the woods, and exactly what we needed in a short break. Everything was clean and beautiful inside our lodge, and breathtaking outside. Sitting in the hot-tub watching the trees sway back and forth in the breeze was awesome! Beautiful woodland walk too! We will definitely be back.

Date of stay: 6th March 2017
great lodge. beautiful scenary. clean and comfy.
Tracey, Sheffield
Date of stay: 24th February 2017
This is a great lodge. It is semi-detached so if there are children next door you will be able to hear them running around but the noise was never intrusive (Hopefully neighbours would also agree !) Detached may be better however. Hot tub is great. Outdoor table and furniture will be lovely for better weather, sadly not applicable in February.
The lodge is clean and comfortable and spacious. Love 2 en-suites so you could easily stay with 2 friends. Temperature good also. You can see that the bathroom shelves/wallpaper are getting slightly scuffed and perhaps one of the bedroom mats has now seen better days. I don't imagine you can replace everything that guests don't treat respectfully however. It's a great lodge and I recommend it.
Date of stay: 17th February 2017
Lodge was very large and plenty of room for all the family, having all en suite bedrooms was fab. The hot tub was great but could do with a little more privacy. The lodge was very clean and extra things like tea, sugar, milk, washing up liquid and dish washer tablets was a bonus. Wi fi worked no problem, had a very relaxed stay would definately recommend.
Antoinette, Wakefield

Melanie, Carlisle
Date of stay: 6th January 2017
We had a wonderful time and were so positively surprised by all the love and care that has gone into the lodges - everything we needed was there, even tea and coffee for the first brews after arrival. The lodge was very clean and tidy and the beds were very comfortable.
I give 9/10 for fittings as the shower was a bit on the weak side, but this didn't harm our experience. Just took a little longer to rinse my hair ;-)
The loge and the park far exceeded our expactions. We will be back next year!
Kathleen, Nottingham
Date of stay: 2nd January 2017

Lovely lodge with plenty of space for my large family. We stayed in Redwood, the hot tub was very popular and a lovely temperature, the little touches of bin bags, washing up liquid etc was a nice surprise. Comfortable beds, wifi good enough for emails and researching following days plans.

Date of stay: 18th July 2016

Jaqueline, Bristol
Date of stay: 1st July 2016
Great week at Woodland Park though it did rain rather a lot, definitely need a seat for "Grandma's" by the swing / play area even if its just a couple of sawn off logs, I got rather tired standing whist the Grandsons played (for hours).

Suggestion access lane to site could do with some holes filling in.

Cabins secluded and well maintained, clean and well stocked, management very helpful.
Date of stay: 24th June 2016
There was every utensil in the kitchen imaginable. Plenty of crockery, glasses, even plastic glasses. You had washing up liquid, kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets, lots of little extras. Heated towel rails would be nice. For a family of 5 it was quite tight sitting around the outside table and chairs. Staff could not be more accommodating. Would definitely stay there again when visiting that part of the country.
Claire, Seaham
Date of stay: 10th June 2016
Lovely lodge
Sam, Coventry
Date of stay: 27th May 2016
We stayed in one of the Maple lodges on a 4 night break and couldn't reccomend them highly enough. At first we were dubious as these are semi-detattched with another idential lodge, however you wouldn't have known, we never heard anything of our neighbours when inside.

The lodge itself is very spacious with two large double-bedded rooms, both with ensuites, and a large open plan kitchen dinning area, as a couple we were spoilt for space here.

To the rear the lodge backs directly onto woodland with a patio area which hosts a private hotub, family size table and chairs and a BBQ.
Rachael, Halesowen
Date of stay: 16th May 2016

As before, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Emma, Lichfield
Date of stay: 29th February 2016
As a young couple we absolutely loved staying in the Elm Lodge Deluxe, we did think that the lodge was beautiful but needed a good clean. The hot tub was brilliant but could probably do with a cover over the top to stop the leaves and more lightening is needed around this lodge as it is right in the forest. Staff were absolutely brilliant and we really enjoyed ourself and we will definitely be back this year.
Anne, Leek Staffordshire
Date of stay: 26th February 2016
We were upgraded to a detached lodge with a bigger hot tub wow!
Lora, Derbyshire
Date of stay: 8th February 2016
The lodge was perfect for a girly weekend away, very clean and had everything we needed. The only thing that would have made it better was if the hot tub was under a gazebo or something along those lines otherwise lovely lodge and would stay again.
Date of stay: 8th February 2016
This was the best relax i have ever had, brought games and music and came off the grid for 4 days. we will be back. thank you

Beka, Banbury
Date of stay: 21st December 2015
Overall fantastic, lodge had everything we needed and was really clean and lovely we even had a Christmas tree! We had a great info pack but would of been nice if the reception was open for a couple of hours to get info on walks to local pubs etc we had to work it out alone. Defo would reccomend to friends though and will be returning!!! X
Kay, Worcester
Date of stay: 7th December 2015
Everything was perfect except when we opened the fridge there was still half eaten food and milk from the previous visitors, and the fridge was dirty. I also left my phone charger, but on phoning to enquire about it's whereabouts, was informed they did not have it and no-one had seen it.
Date of stay: 30th November 2015
Only think we noticed was they need more screens around the hot tub. The lodge itself was great.
Candice, Burtonwood
Date of stay: 20th November 2015
It would be nice if around the hot tub area it was fenced off for the pet friendly lodges so the dogs could safely be outside with you whilst using the hot tub. Everything else was superb!!
Karen, Staffordshire
Date of stay: 2nd November 2015
Very comfortable if a little jaded around hand edges
Amanda, Barnsley
Date of stay: 30th October 2015
Beautiful settings. Luxury lodges with hot tubs. Help full staff... What more can you ask for.
Elaine, Ware Hertfordshire
Date of stay: 30th October 2015
Good break could do with some more things to amuse children play area very poor
Elizabeth, Barnsley
Date of stay: 30th October 2015
The main thing we missed was a bath. There was room for one to fit in as the space in one of the bedrooms next to the bathroom was wasted. The verandah out side the other bedroom could have made that ensuite.
Aimee, Selby
Date of stay: 16th October 2015
Absolutely fantastic! Lovely big rooms, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen and a hot hot tub! I thought the self catering kitchen would have basic equipment but I couldn't have been more wrong! Absolutely perfect holiday.
Rachel, Walsall
Date of stay: 12th October 2015
Comfortable cosy beautiful cabin could do with more drying equipment due to towels being used for showers and hot tub everyday
Kevin, Nottingham
Date of stay: 28th September 2015
The perfect lodge for us; 2 adults and a dog with plenty of space for all (though would accommodate 4). Amazing views from every window in the property and a lovely veranda to enjoy your evening listening to the wilderness over a glass of wine. If it's important to you, they have recently installed free wifi and the freeview TV reception is fantastic. The peace and tranquility really gives you the feeling you're away from it all, so if it's a truly rural escape that you're looking for, then this is the place for you! Stunning all round and plenty of places for you to visit within 30 minutes from your doorstep. Beautiful walks, the picturesque town of Ellesmere and Hawkestone Follies kept us busy for the 3 days we were there. This was such a fantastic break that we felt chilled and relaxed within a couple of hours of arriving and we will most definitely be going back again in the future.
Christina, Grantham
Date of stay: 7th September 2015
Lovely and spacious accomodation
Marisa, Preston
Date of stay: 28th August 2015
A beautiful lodge, big enough to accommodate a family and a pet dog. All facilities included, although would have liked a facility like a clothes horse or clothes line to dry clothes. I would definitely recommend a stay here. This lodge doesn't have the hot tub or BBQ like the other lodges but it is perfect for young families who wouldn't need those anyway. I can't wait to book again for next year!
Pat, Maldon
Date of stay: 28th August 2015
Maple Lodge was comfortable with plenty of room for 3 adults and our dog. We particularly liked the two double bedrooms and two en suites, perfect for us.
There were a few minor things that would have made this so much better; some additional coat pegs would help in the en suites, by the back door and outside near the hot tub; a bath mat for the shower; additional fencing between Maple and Rowan as even though our dog stayed our side mostly there was a lovely patch of grass the other side he found to graze on when we first arrived and he needs his 'medication' daily!!!
The main thing missing was 'wifi'; We understand this is to be put in soon but in 2015 it is essential to have access when needed. There was also little mobile service both in the lodge or around probably because of the trees we think but again essential when needed.
Emma, Helsby
Date of stay: 10th August 2015
Gorgeous lodge hot tub cleaned daily. Private setting. We had a great time x

A lovely lodge. Unfortuately the oven wasnt stopped working during our stay but the owner went out of his wasy to rectify it, we were given the keys to the lodge opposite so we could use the oven for one day and a new oven was installed the very next day.. No issues at all...

Elm Lodge was perfect for our holiday with friends - having 4 people in the lodge was just the right amount and we had enough space to not be under each others feet.
Having our own private hot tub was a real treat, and the lodge had most the amenities that we'd need - the only thing that would have been nice would have been to have internet/wi-fi but equally it was nice to "unplug" for a while!
The lodge was furnished in a really nice way, it felt very "woodsy" but equally very "homey".
We'd definitely come back again, and would recommend this lodge to anyone looking to get away!

We really enjoyed it at woodland park lodges and will be returning. To improve my 9/ 10 rating they would need to provide better ease of access to woodland walks. At present there are no paths and when you do find somewhere that you think you could walk down it is gated off to stop you from trespassing onto next doors farm. The log cabins are fantastic though and we would definitely recommend. If you want action this is not for you. If like us you want a quiet relaxing break in nature then you will find this wonderful.

I would recommend these lodges the only down side was the electric shower which went hot and cold.

Had a great time in a well fitted out unit . Unfortunately the shower cubicle was a little small. ( I am 6' 2" tall and 16 stones weight, not a lot of room to swing my soap on a rope!!!)

Our lodge was perfect, clean, warm and very comfortable. Everything you needed was there. Hot tub was fantastic, just a pity it wasn't hot enough on the day we arrived, but we were made aware of this. Perfect surroundings, peace and quiet - back to nature. We would recommend anyone to go and would return there again ourselves.

The lodge was stunning!! I only had to minor issues with it. The first is how the people before us didn't have the same cleanliness levels as me and I had to wash kitchen items before using them, but that's no one's fault. Also in this lodge the partitioning fence between our lodge and the neighbours needs to be bigger to make it just that little bit more private. When we were in our hot tub we could see are neighbours coming in and out of there garden. But the lodges are stunning and this wouldn't stop us coming back again!

Date of stay: 20th February 2015
We enjoyed our stay at redwood, loved the woodland location. The lodge was a lot bigger than we expected. Well equipt. It was ashame that our hot tub was not cleaned and by day three smelt like pond water which may or may not have been the cause for our two children being horrendously sick for half the holiday. When we told staff though the drained and cleaned it straight away. Good value for money apart from that though.

Date of stay: 19th January 2015
The only issue we had was with the shower, the pressure was very low. The hot tub could do with a few more lights on the outside of the cabin and maybe a rail to hold on too whilst getting in and out.

Excellent log cabin. Very clean and fully equipped. Hot tub maintenance and checks were excellent.

Willow was excellent. We always pack everything from dishcloths to duvets just in case but it wasn't necessary. There was everything we needed there in the lodge. There was a dishwasher and washing machine (didn't use either), microwave, cooker and even an ironing board. We were worried it might be a bit cool as we stayed in October but it was very warm and very cosy on an evening. Would definitely recommend staying there.

Cheryl, Sunderland
Date of stay: 3rd October 2014
The lodges were as described, large and airey, clean and maintained to a good standard. Because the lodges were so large i felt that some additional finishing touches would have softened the space ie cushions, additional lights as the rooms are quite dark, more patterns on the curtains as the colours where quite plain, just an obserbation.

Nowhere to hang coats whenyou go into the lodge. Could have done with a few clothes hooks when you enter the logdge. In the bathroom there was no where to put toiletries. Could have done with a few shelves in tne bath roooms

A wonderful lodge (Maple Lodge), it has all of the mod cons to ensure a very relaxing and hassle free stay. Washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven, toaster, microwave, two on suite showers/toilets, top quality heating, flat screen tv & dvd player. Iron & ironing board, clothes rack, etc etc oh and a fabulous Hot Tub. One thing we found great was that the lodge also had a folder containing lots of the local takeaways/menus to use. The local village was superb, very friendly people and in general, a very very nice place.

Excellent accommodation set on a working farm. The lodges are maintained at a very high standard. Don't turn up and expect everything to be in your doorstep, you do need to go out in the car to nearby facilities. Having said that we used the lodge as a base, we spent our day's out and about sightseeing. The lodge was lovely and cosy and it was a real pleasure coming back to it of an evening.
Jennie, Newton Abbot
Date of stay: 13th January 2014
Very welcoming and trouble free arrival with staff on hand to help with luggage and to show us around the essentials in the Lodge.
Loads of room inside the well equipped lodge which was a godsend for my 2 year old grandson and the bedrooms were a good size with very comfortable beds and lovely fresh bedding.
Nice little games room that came in useful with ping pong, pool etc.
Only downside was a shower that was a dribble and lack of clothes drying facility especially with people in and out of the Hot tub day and night, also didn't appear to be any WIFI. Bring some extra towels, they are provided but you will need spare ones. Don't forget to pack bathroom toiletries, condiments and oil for cooking.
Date of stay: 6th January 2014
Everything to do with our holiday was really good, apart from a couple of little things, we stayed in the maple lodge and had a dog, but we were unable to let him out into the back garden while we were in the hot tub because there wasnt fencing round the lodge and we knew he would just run off into the wood. it would have been lovely if there had been a fencing round the back of the lodge to make it more of a garden and more secluded. Also the signal and wifi was really bad so if we had an emergency or needed to call the on call maintenance man we couldnt as we couldnt get a reception. But apart from that the weekend was lovely and we are planning to stay in wales next time.

The cabin was lovely, in my opinion pretty spacious and very homely.. The only bad point I could give would be the AWFUL sofa's (Cream, Material in a muddy woodland setting DOES NOT work, constant wiping down.. NIGHTMARE) This being sais, I didn't go on holiday to sit on a sofa all day and everything else made up for that.. The only other point to remember is water pressure is very low, cant be helped but this didn't make the shower very easy.. If it wasn't for those god awful sofas Cedar would 100% get a 10 out of 10

I loved the accommodation, The only problem we had was one of the beds was a bit broken (age) and when i went to fix it, I realised that under the beds etc didn't get cleaned very often.
A very enjoyable stay, with my family, 5 adults plus our 1 year old grandson. It was a chill weekend we enjoyed a well equipped and spacious log cabin. Hot tub was a big attraction, for the adults. We had a 3 night stay Friday until Monday. I forgot to pack my charger for my iPad and the very nice lady on reception, kindly posted it out to me, received in a couple of days. We would definitely stay again and high recommended.
Our 3rd stay for a long weekend at 3 different lodges. Perfect location quiet private get away. Beautiful lodges and fantastic hot tubs. I will definitely be back.
Great lodge, fully equipped and lots of room for a family of 5. The hot tub was a great addition.
Fabulous place calm, quiet serene, lovely place to relax.
we had a relaxing and restful time, thank you
Lovely and quiet for a family getaway
A lovely quiet location for a weekend break. Having a hot tub made a real difference and the lodge was lovely and warm all of the time
Lovely lodge in a peaceful woodland location. Cosy and comfortable with a fantastic hot tub. Lovely woodland walks, great if you're looking for some relaxation away from it all. The family had a great time here, we will definitely return.
We had a lovely break at our woodland lodge. The hot tub was amazing and the setting was beautiful. The lodge was modern and comfortable the only reason I didn’t give this 10 was the bathroom. If felt like an afterthought to the rest of the lodge. I would definitely recommend holidaying here though.
Wonderful place can not wait to vist again soon.
Been twice now to the same lodge! Looking forward to going again.
Fantastic stay. Extreamly value for money.
