The lodges themselves have open plan living and lake views, not forgetting the private outdoor hot tubs. We love the Mallard Lodge which has two bedrooms and a family bathroom. The open plan living area in this lodge is spacious and there is a cosy lounge area too. The outdoor decking and lake views mean you can make the most of the gorgeous surroundings.
Fantastic days out await in this area including White Scar Cave in Ingleton just 10 miles from the lodges. This is the longest show cave in Britain with steams and waterfalls galore.
For those wishing to escape from it all and enjoy a quiet and peaceful break, then Hall More is the perfect location.
This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
