About Ellas Loft

Ella's Loft is a truly romantic and idyllic holiday lodge with a hot tub located in the picturesque churchyard of Kent Downs. This fabulous one-bedroom retreat has been beautifully converted from a traditional cart barn and offers the perfect getaway for couples looking to explore the ancient and historic region of Kent.

Located in the charming village of Godmersham, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is just a stone's throw away from the village of Chilham and the historic city of Canterbury. The location makes it the ideal base for exploring this beautiful area and the nearby Pilgrim's Way provides the perfect starting point for a range of outdoor activities and excursions.

As you pull into the off-road parking space, you will immediately be struck by the peaceful and tranquil surroundings at Ella's Loft. Make your way up the decking stairs, past the lovely outdoor furniture and into the loft to be welcomed into the open-plan living space.

The layout of the loft is neat and well-designed, offering everything you need for a relaxing self-catered break. The comfortable sofa set faces the TV, while large windows allow natural light to flood the space. The color scheme is bright and inviting, with a compact and well-equipped kitchen space including an electric oven and hob, a fridge, and an amazing dishwasher built into the wall to conserve space.

Ella's Loft features some great touches too! The winged dining table with folding chairs offers a clever space to enjoy a meal for two, or head outside and take advantage of your own private decking space with some alfresco dining, keeping warm in the evening with the outdoor heater.

The loft also features a hot tub placed on raised decking, where you can admire the lovely countryside setting as the warm waters bubble.

Back inside, you will find a beautiful bathroom, complete with an Aqualisa Smart shower over the large bath, providing the ultimate in relaxation and comfort. The lovely bedroom is home to a king-size bed and features more innovative storage, with drawers for your belongings built into the wall, as well as pretty bedding and furnishings.

The charming village of Godmersham, resting in the heart of the Kent Downs, has connections to one of England's favorite novelists, Jane Austen, who visited the village often thanks to her brother Edward who lived at Godmersham Park. It's said that she got inspiration for her novels Emma, Pride & Prejudice and Mansfield Park here.

In summary, Ella's Loft is the perfect holiday destination for couples looking for a romantic and idyllic getaway in the heart of Kent's countryside. With its beautiful conversion, well-designed layout, and convenient location, it offers the ultimate in relaxation and comfort. Make your way to Godmersham and experience all that this charming village and the surrounding area has to offer.

Lovely escape for us. - May 2021
I went with my friend who booked it as a treat for us both. What a wonderful place this is, with equally wonderful hosts. It?s just what we needed for a girls midweek break away. The loft is like a tardis, being bigger on the inside than what it looks on the outside. It was peaceful and relaxing and we made good use of relaxing and unwinding in the hot tub. Slept like a baby too (obviously not a newborn ) We went to Ashford outlet centre on one day and Canterbury the next day, both not too far away with a car, I?m unsure about public transport or taxis as we didn?t need them. Highly recommended.

The site is home to over 500 rare and endangered animals from all around the world including the beautiful Siberian Tigers and the largest breeding herd of Black Rhino outside of Africa. The park was set up to protect endangered species and while enjoying the experience visitors can learn about the dangers the animals face in the wild and the reasons for their decline. The centre aims to return animals to the wild wherever possible and the enclosures are designed closely match the animals natural habitat.
Brockhill Country Park - CT21 4HL

Wildwood Trust is well worth a visit if you are staying in the local area.  You can experience close encounters with native wildlife - all in a beautiful forest setting.  You will find this attraction between the coastal town of Herne Bay and the ancient city of Canterbury.  There is a wide variety of animals to see including badgers, foxes and otters. Kids will also love the animal encounters sessions, playground and games and quizzes.  Check out their website for the latest admission prices which are excellent value for a family day out in Kent.
Bodiam Castle - TN32 5UA
about 22 Miles
Bodiam Castle (National Trust) was built in 1385 and much of the exterior of the castle is still in tact although most of the interior was destroyed during the Civil War. The castle and grounds are a popular attraction in Sussex and have a children's activity area and a year round events programme including Bonfire night firework displays and Halloween spooky pumpkin parades. On selected date's visitor's cam meet real castle characters and get an insight into castle life.

Families can explore the site via the miles cycling routes and for the more experienced rider there are also 12 km of mountain biking tracks.
