Tamar View Holiday Park - Details

A remote, relaxing family getaway is on the cards with Tamar View Holiday Park in South Cornwall. Located in St Ann’s Chapel, the park is more than deserving of its name thanks to the stunning views over the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Whether you travel with family or friends, you’re sure to come home feeling refreshed and relaxed from your time at Tamar View Holiday Park.

Whether you choose to take a train over the Tamar Viaduct to Plymouth or get some exercise on the bike by cycling through the Tamar Trails, there’s certainly plenty for everyone to do and enjoy.

For anyone looking to bring their family four legged friends along, we’d really recommend the Edgecumbe caravan, which not only permits two pets to stay (at a small extra charge) but sleeps up to six people over three bedrooms – one double, one twin and one with bunks.

Complete with a Flatscreen television and Wi-Fi, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained if the weather lets you down, although it’s worth taking advantage of your outdoor hot tub if it gets nice! But if Edgecumbe isn’t right for you all two and three-bedroom caravans come with an outdoor hot tub too.

A smaller version of the Edgecumbe caravan can be found within the Pentillie lodge, which sleeps up to four people within two bedrooms (one double with en-suite WC and one twin) and also allows for two pets to accompany you.

Whitsand is a great option too, particularly for smaller groups since it sleeps up to four guests over two bedrooms – one double with en-suite and one twin. There’s still plenty of room for everyone to relax together thanks to the open plan lounge, diner and kitchen area, and the party can even spread outside thanks to the caravan’s veranda with garden furniture and hot tub, there’s plenty of space to enjoy those gorgeous Cornish views.

Cotehele and Cotehele Mill are perfect for stretching those legs – and learning a bit of history at the same time! The Tudor house is roughly just a ten-minute drive away, and includes a working mill, garden, and an extensive estate, so there’s plenty to explore.

Pop in for a cream tea at the Barn Restaurant or grab a coffee at the Edgecumbe Tea Room before you go! Remember to stop off at the Cotehele shop and plant centre, as well as the Bull Pen Gallery (selling work by local artists and craft makers) to pick up a little something to bring home.

Children will love the chance to interact with animals at the Tamar Valley Donkey Park, meeting creatures great and small, from donkeys, goats and sheep to pigs, rabbits, and guinea pigs. About a ten-minute walk away from St Anne’s Chapel, there’s no need for any restless long car journeys either. Head to Holly’s café for a warm drink, explore the Donkey Bazaar Gift Shop or let the kids loose on the indoor play barn – so don’t let the weather control your holiday!

If you're looking for that perfect picnic spot, Kit Hill Country Park is a great option to enjoy the Cornish weather at. The highest point in the Tamar Valley features over 400 acres of heathland to admire the views over Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor from. Explore the network of walking routes solo or look out for guided tours and events to learn more about the areas history and natural beauty.
