Ogwen Bank Caravan and Lodge Park Reviews

"We had an amazing stay. It was so lovely to come back from a day of hiking in the beautiful landscape of north wales to relax in a hot tub and cuddle up on the sofa. Had an amazing time and we are already talking about booking our next stay in 2025!"
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Having just returned from our break and stay in beechwood /snowdonia. Not only was the walks and scenery absolutely stunning our break was made all the more magical using the lodge beechwood as our base. It was beautifully clean and furnished to a high level and the hot tub was an amazing way to relax our tired limbs! Will definitely be staying in beechwood again!! Wayne&Marie"
Wayne Parker - Jan 2024
"Amazing pod"
Shannon - Nov 2023
"Just what you need for relaxing holiday Everything you need in beautiful location"
Kevin - Nov 2023
"Close to zipworld which we booked previous didnt need the car"
Andrea - Jun 2023
"Shame about the log cabin and possibly fleas"
Tracey - Jun 2023
"The riverside pod was beautiful but compact. The added bonus of the hot tub was perfect for our children. The pod is positioned next to the stream which we LOVED. It was so calm and relaxing. My only criticism is that there were a few things in the pod that needed tweaking (kitchen cupboard doors, handle on window, blind cord). But this didnt affect our holiday, we still had a wonderful time."
Lisa - Jun 2023
"Very good stay very comfortable and clean also enjoyed the hot tub"
David - May 2023
"Lovely place to stay for 3 nights.
Will definitely be back."
Rachel - Aug 2020
"Will be back next year for sure ,the area is amazing the mountains no matter what the weather blow you away"
Steve - Jul 2020
"Would love to go again."
Mark - Jul 2020
"Brilliant location lovely accommodation over all great"
Jane - Nov 2019
"The site was beautiful, and quiet. The location was perfect for a nice quiet relaxing get away, and was only a 30 minute drive to most places.

The only issue we had was a few things in the lodge. The wardrobe door in one of the rooms was not screwed in properly and would fall off if you tried to open it. And the oven door did not shut properly, we usually wouldnt mention these things but with travelling with 2 small children it was a worry trying to make sure they didnt mess with the wardrobe and we needed to use the kitchen facilities, so we had to use a kitchen utensil to hold the door shut. We did mention these to reception but nothing was done, when we checked out the lady on reception was surprised no one had been to fix them, so maybe it was a miscommunication.

The quarry bar food was lovely and the staff were brilliant with my 2 young children

Other than the 2 faults in the lodge the stay was brilliant and the staff were excellent . The receptionist and staff at the quarry bar were very polite and helpful."
Clare - Nov 2019
"A lovely area and lodge, will be coming back"
Karen - Nov 2019
"I come here every year, I absolutely adore it, out of way and peaceful but not too far away from anything. Lodge was gorgeous and well equipped. My only advice is bring a DVD player as the tv is freeview only. 10/10"
Talitha - Oct 2019
"Fabulous,
The rating for the restaurant being a 6 was because it was cold, and as we had a dog with us we had to sit in a back room. As the flooring throughout was the same, and the fact you could eat in the back room there seemed no logical reason for this."
Christine - Oct 2019
"The only thing I can fault is not having a tea towel or oven gloves provided. We ended up using our own bath towels to get dinner out of the oven or when handling the metal pans when the handles got very hot ( the heat it travelled through the pan as all metal).
When we arrived our hot tub was quite cool. We left it overnight after adjusting the temperature but it didn't improve. We rang the lady at reception (owner?) first thing and it was sorted very quickly which we were really impressed with."
Sarah - Sep 2019
"Will definitely stay again"
Sandra - Aug 2019
"A really enjoyable week away."
Guy - Aug 2019
"S-Pod was really lovely and clean and very modern. We found the bed very comfy and the bathroom was a good size. The hot tup is lovely and overlooks a river but they aren't very private, we had two static caravans that looked down on to our pos and also the hot tub in the neighbouring pod could be seen, the addition of some privacy fencing would make it 10/10"
Holly - Jul 2019
"This was our second visit site is being improved all the time."
Paul - Jul 2019
"Loved the site and the staff were so lovely"
Michelle - Jul 2019
"Absolutely loved it and can see us returning!"
Keely - Jun 2019
"We stayed in an (the?) Ogwen Lodge Plus. The accommodation was very good, seemed to have been recently refurbished, a lot of the things in the lodge (sofa, table, carpets, fireplace) seemed to be brand new, although some (like the wooden blinds and shower rails) were not (and were a tiny bit fragile). Nice touch was a carton of milk in the fridge awaiting our arrival.
Site was quiet; quite picturesque (esp. with the backdrop of the quarry and the centrepiece of the raging river Ogwen, staff were friendly and responsive to any issues. Some reviews mention having to walk down the busy road to get to the village, but it's also possible to walk through the site to get there. The site also borders a country walking/biking trail which I think is built on the former quarry railway line.
Not many amenities on the site - duckpond and restaurant, but we weren't looking for any. Restaurant was a curious feature as it wasn't very clear when it was going to be open. We went there as a family one night, and enjoyed a reasonable meal (limited menu), but I have to say that personally I was sick as a dog afterwards (everyone else was okay), so find it difficult to recommend.
We would definitely stay here again, based on the quality and cleanliness of the lodge, but would probably give the restaurant a miss."
Robert - Jun 2019
"Would give a 10 if they provided simple things like hand gel to clean hands and towels."
Ashley - Jun 2019
"Lovely place would highly recommend. X"
Denise - May 2019
"Overall a lovely holiday was enjoyed by my wife and I,"
Alan - May 2019
"Needs a new frying pan. It has a lovely view but slate trucks were noisy especially early in the morning."
Evelyn - May 2019
"would visit again. restaurant was under refurb and closed so didnt visit it. really enjoyed the lodge and kids first time was a lovely enjoyable visit. was dispppointed that the restaurant was not open as under refurb which we didnt know about at the time of booking so catered for ourselves everynight in the lodge."
Mohammed - Apr 2019
"An amazing break away, would thoroughly recommend. Location is perfect, food in the grill is amazing and the pod we stayed in was perfect. Will definitely be back"
Katharine - Jul 2022
"Great location for Zipworld, lovely and peaceful surroundings."
Christine - Jul 2022
"Lovely park on the side of a river. Was very quite when we were there as we went the start of Scottish school holidays so not many people around at the time. Lodge was lovely and clean as was the hot tub, ours was in a more private area at the back of the decking. Was based behind the quarry where you could watch the zip line go past all day. We were even brave enough to go on ourselves and was an amazing experience. Would def recommend if your in the area for zip world."
Linzi - Jul 2022
"Beautiful place to stay, would definitely recommend"
Laura - Jun 2022
"First time visiting but definitely not the last. The site itself is beautiful, the restaurant food was delicious and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. With regards to the surrounds, what can I say, you can walk for miles with such beautiful scenery of the mountains, steams and rivers, woodland and sheep and it is right next to part of zip world. The lodge was beautiful and comfortable. There isn't a single bad thing I would say about the place. I plan on going back again next year."
Joanne - May 2022
"Perfect location for amazing walk! Lodge was lovely with a little hot tub outside, only thing I would suggest is if it’s a pet friendly lodge to possibly have a gate that can be shut so the dogs can be on the decking without being tied up."
Megan - May 2022
"Excellent location comfortable accommodation and friendly staff"
Graham - May 2022
"Beautiful scenery and comfortable accommodation. Great location for snowdon and other attractions."
Sharon - May 2022
"What a fantastic place! The lodge was warm, comfortable and the hot tub was bliss! The Ogwen Bank team were all very friendly. The site was ideally located for sightseeing. Ticked all the boxes and will definitely be going back!!"
Ian - May 2022
"We stayed through Hoseasons. The park is so ideal for Zipworld....literally a 10min walk down the river and up the hill. There is a very small restaurant on site which does decent pub food and we found perfectly sufficed for us on our arrival....advise yo precooked though as it is small. Staff all around site are really helpful. Plus side is that you can also eat/drink at Zipworld as it is walkable. The Beechwood Lodge with hot tub was lovely. Comfy and spacious for 2 adults and 2 teen boys and has most things you need. No towels though! Also, Beechwood is next to the road so advise earplugs! We also went to The Wave in Dolgarrog. Highly recommend activities there too....surfing and Ninja course. The site is being extended with new lodges so some areas are in a little disarray. However a perfect, peaceful spot to visit the beautiful Snowdonia area."
Jana - Apr 2022
"Was gorgeous. All the amenities were provided. Staff were so helpful. Great views. Right next to the ogwen Valley and waterfall."
