Springhouse Country Park Reviews

"Could not fault The Lodge at all, very luxurious at a bargain price!"
Brian - Apr 2024
"Nice quite restful holiday enjoyed the surrounding areas"
Scott - Apr 2024
"What an amazing cottage 4 adults and 4 children over new year. I can see from previous reviews that things have been sorted. Bathmats, welcome pack with information in. It was amazing, the little touch of leaving the Christmas tree up. Such a warm and welcoming cottage. Hot tub was amazing, local villages nearby and an amazing park on site for kids. Really don't think the pictures do it justice! Thank you for having us and can't wait to return"
Aimee - Jan 2024
"Amazing cottage. Spacious spotlessly clean. Loved it booked up for next year. Could do with welcome pack with local amenities etc."
Nicola - Dec 2023
"Back bedroom needs to say there is a step carpet does not show step looks like straight floor Shower floor is slippy when wet,And don't turn off oven this needs a don't switch off sign An information pack"

"shop can not be called that .perhaps the three shelves mainly empty or only a few items on.ie 3 loves of frozen bread in a small chest freezer this is not a shop in any form. and can not be advertised as one.essentials ars non exsisting."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"The caravan was lovely and warm and comfortable. Fantastic location. The staff was so friendly and helpful a lovely site, and very quiet and calm. We are staying next year. We can't wait."
Nicky - Nov 2023
"Great break, with everything about site and surrounding countryside so good.Food was the best. Xxxxxx"
Alastair - Nov 2023
"Great holiday for relaxing and walking.Walks on the doorstep or travel a bit further out to Corbridge or Hadrians wall. The cabana we stayed in is More suited for 2 adults downstairs and kids up the ladder to the mezzanine level as crawling/sit up only."
Marie - Nov 2023
"We loved our stay clean and tidy comfortable and great value for money we will definitely be going back."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"The only issue was the height of the pull down bed, it was far too high and when I got up in the morning I fell and landed on my side against the ladder to the mezzanine, as you can imagine it caused extensive bruising. The accommodation was brilliant otherwise, definitely not for anyone with mobility issues though. The bar on site was lovely and served amazing food. The park is lovely and quiet.Would definitely book again but I would not stay in the same place but my daughters would love to stay in it again"
Joanna - Nov 2023
"Positives - Lovely and clean, patio furniture very useful. Never had a problem with a Hoseason's booked static caravan.Negatives - Matress on double bed was of poor quality [feel the springs]. Didn't like / don't like carpet on a toilet floor - think it's un-hygenic."
Tony - Nov 2023
"Great 3 night stay Friday to Monday for a Bank Holiday weekend with the dog in Hexham Pet 2. Caravan was lovely, spacious clean and comfortable. Phone signal intermittent which wasnt a problem, nice to get away from it all. The site is immaculate and everyone was friendly. Lovely dog walks suitable for anyone, can go for long or short walks, hills or on the flat. The on site shop has essentials which was handy for fresh milk. I didnt go to the pub but it looked nice and serves food. I cant wait to book here again, didnt want the weekend to end."
Dawn - Nov 2023
"We arrived on the worst day for its weather! Checked in an hour earlier and they had lit the hot tub all ready for the kids. Lodge was so clean and had everything you needed, biscuits, dressing gowns, plenty of towels! Such a relaxing place! Thank you x"
Vicki - Nov 2023
"Great place good playground for the kids and nice restaurant for drinks and food."
Robert - Nov 2023
"Double bed matress is desperately needing replaced. One side caved in. Although pet friendly found too many hairs on floor and seating area causing my friends baby to come out in a rash. Van itself was good although could be upgraded with double sockets in bedrooms and seating areas. Kitchen cupboards bit tired Had all the utensils we needed plus more ! We Could not work out how to put central heating on so made do with gas fire. Van could also be doing with a fan when it gets hot inside. Added bonus of seating and decking outside but we barely used it as rained for full week. Site itself is quiet, well maintained and clean laundry/shower/lounge/eating area was excellent. Food good. Liked fact laundry room had library or books games and dvds for kids. Small play football pitch was good although could be properly levelled off . Small playpark beside it good although swings could have a secure one for toddler=small child to sit in. Staff nice. 15 mins from Hexham and 40 mins to Newcastle. Make sure you check parking rules as got a ticket in at wentworth leisure centre. Wont return as not for us."
Kathleen Daly - Sep 2023

Comfy beds and good bathrooms."
Janet - Aug 2020
"Loved it and would certainly go back"
Maryanne - Aug 2020
"Really good - the caravan was brand new. Just missing a few extras in the kitchen - e.g. larger pan & a bottle opener. A bedside lamps would have been nice as the lights were very bright.
Shower was great & bedding/towels were lovely."
Lucy - Aug 2020
"We will definitely stay in the Derwent 3 again. The surroundings were so comfortable and we felt like we had won the lottery!"
Sarah - Aug 2020
"Lovely place would go back."
Alison - Aug 2020
"A lovely caravan and very clean."
Debbie - Jul 2020
"After a lot of looking for a park at very last minute we came across this park. We booked in the Wednesday for the Friday we werent disappointed. We have a very enjoyable weekend. Staff and other park users were very friendly. We will definitely return to the park. The highlight of our stay was definitely the managers dog who played football with the stones and played with the kids. Overall I would definitely recommend this site.
The only down side was that we only booked 2 nights and not longer."
Leanne - Jul 2020
"Clean tidy and very comfortable"
Gregory - Nov 2019

Susan - Sep 2019

"Amazing. Stunning location Beautiful accommodation Semi rural Immaculate Just simply gorgeous"
Susan - Jul 2022
"Beautiful park in a fabulous setting. Yes, it was a little way from civilization but it made up for it in peace and tranquility. The park was clean and beautifully landscaped. We had a meal in the lovely little bar and restaurant - it was lovely. Can certainly recommend it. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay there again when we are in the area."
Eleanor - Jul 2022
"Lovely place, peaceful setting. Restaurant was lovely and very reasonable."
Michelle - Jul 2022
"Quiet location and superb clean comfortable caravan BUT noise from children running up and down inside caravans and loud music spoilt the site therefore left one day early. Cannot understand why some people chose a quiet site and then destroy the ambiance. Well kept site is a credit to the staff."
Simon - Jul 2022
"Just had a FANTASTIC mid week break at Springhouse Country Park. When we arrived we were told we were the first people to stay in the caravan as it was a brand new one, BONUS. The van was spotless, with everything there we needed except a sweeping brush. If you like entertainment amusement arcades + noise this is DEF NOT the place for you, but if you like peace, quiet away from it all then this is DEF the place. Hopefully will return soon."
Verified Guest - Jul 2022
"Quiet retreat but beautiful setting. Everything you would need on site and accommodation was really lovely. Plenty of walks etc"
Sheila - Jun 2022
"Can't fault the cleanliness and comfort of the caravans, situated in a quiet location which was what we wented.x"
Susan - Jun 2022
"Our lodge was superb couple things were broke in the lodge but it didn't stop us enjoying ourselves. Beautiful lodge and hot tub was amazing, our only upset was the warden told us off with a bit of an attitude for having a laugh and listening to music and yet it wasn't even 10.30pm"
Claire - Jun 2022
"Lovely van!! Very modern everything you need. Good park for Kids. The food in the bar was Amazing!!! And breakfast was lovely. Would recommend. Hope to be back soon."
Daisy - Jun 2022
"It is remote but the club house has good food, there was a play area for the children. We were only there for the weekend so didn’t use the shop."

Attractions Near Springhouse Country Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Springhouse Country Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 10 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 26 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 29 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 34 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ
about 38 Miles
Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
