Rosewood Stud Park

Rosewood Stud Park is a collection of luxury lodges in Cambridgeshire, set on a working Stud farm with a huge 72 acres of idyllic green countryside.  The setting is both secluded and tranquil and yet is fantastically positioned to explore the area.

The park cafe opens most weekends and it's just a stroll to the local pub.  A short drive from Rosewood Stud Park takes you to the towns of Bury St Edmonds, Newmarket and Cambridge.

Choose from a range of holiday homes and lodges, all with personal outdoor hot tubs.  Prestige Lodge is a stylish lodge which can sleep up to 6, with a modern interior and waterside views.  There is a larger version of this lodge which sleeps up to 8 and also has waterside views and outdoor hot tub.

The modern Rosewood holiday homes sleep 6 or 8 and have well designed interiors, outdoor decking and hot tubs.

The local area is great for days out.  You could visit the National Horse Racing Museum in Newmarket, less than 5 miles from the park.  Newmarket racecourse is also close by with plenty going on in the summer on Saturdays from children's entertainment to concerts.

A really lovely long weekend in lovely accommodation and surroundings.

Date of stay: 2nd April 2018
We were a party of 6 adults who had a brilliant long weekend in a 3 bedroom lodge, with a hot tub. We were greeted by a very friendly park manager (Nigel) who was attentive throughout our stay (in fact, he phoned us prior to our arrival to inform us that the lodge was ready early). The lodge was very nice and comfortable, although it could have done with drying facilities for towels, etc (a clothes airer or even hooks/towel rails would have been useful). The walls were also rather bare with no pictures, etc. There was a problem with a complete lack of water on the Sunday morning but it was fixed by the time we returned later in the afternoon. It was rather a wet weekend so we didn't get chance to stroll around the park, which was a pity. We had a nice meal, with excellent service, at the nearby Rosery Country Hotel in Exning (part of Rosewood stud park), who gave us 10% off our bill as customers of Rosewood!

We had a great week in the lodge. Everything we needed was there and the hot tub was great, as were the surroundings. Best place to eat was a short drive away (The Walnut Tree). Our dog was happy but as we were not able to let her off lead we had to find a local park to get her some exercise so a dog run area would be an amazing addition.

As Above really

I booked the cabin for my friends 60th Birthday. There were 8 of us all together and we had permission to attend as a single gender group. During our stay we only left the cabin on the Saturday for a short excursion into Bury St Edmunds. The rest of the trip was all centered around enjoying the cabin and its surroundings.
I had already had a couple of conversations with Nigel at the site prior to arrival and he was really helpful advising me on a number of queries such as facilities, cabin equipment and directions.
On arrival Nigel was able to let us into the cabin a little earlier than expected as he had prioritised its cleaning knowing that we wanted to decorate it for the big surprise arrival of our guests.
Nigel accompanied us to the cabin and fully briefed us on the use of all the electrical equipment and the Hot Tub.
Wer asked for additional chairs as we were a party of 8 and later some extra champagne flutes and a can opener which was broken and clearly not reported. Everything we asked for was sorted out quickly either by Nigel or by the maintenance guys but this was nothing to do with the poor quality of the property but to do with filling the hot tub or turning on the tap.
The cabon was so good I have recommened it to all my friends and work colleagues. We are definitely going to book it again. The view was wonderful, we were not disturbed by any other guests. Everything we needed was there and we cooked and danced and hot tubbed all weekend.
If I had one bit of feedback it would be the facilities for the 7th and 8th guests in the living room on the sofa bed. The Duvets and pillows were not made up with the covers and the pillows and duvet were flat and stained which was a little unpleasant. We did not care but I can imagine this would cause poor feedback from other more picky guests. We would have preferred two pillow each, two single duvets and for them to be prepared in the cupboard ready for deployment.
it maybe an idea to remind people to bring bin bags and dishwasher tablets and some washing machine instructions for drying tea towels. This feedback does not affect my review as we all concluded that it could not have been better for our celebration. Cant wait to come back and see Nigel and his team who looked after us brilliantly.

We had a lovely stay at rosewood stood, very relaxing, the staff are friendly, the Hot tub was just amazing! We took our dog and even he enjoyed the stay the only downfall was we couldnt find anywhere to walk the dog, will definitely be returning in the future and be recommending to friends and family! Thankyou for a wonderful weekend!

We found the previous occupants toe nail clippings on the window seal! Not ideal!!!

Date of stay: 16th February 2018
We had a pleasant stay overall; the rooms were comfortable, the hot tub was very pleasant and the location was perfect for our requirements.

However there were a few fittings which didn't work on our arrival, which impacted on our stay. The temperature control of the shower in the main bathroom was broken so it was impossible to shower as the water was too hot to touch, which meant all 5 guests had to use the en-suite shower room. Whilst we could manage, this led to some inconvenience for those who wished to wash off the chlorine smell after a hot tub session in the evening, if the friends in the main room were already asleep.

An issue with the extractor fan in the kitchen made it deafeningly loud when turned on, so we made do with not using it; this was a minor inconvenience as we wanted to make full use of the cooking facilities but were a little restricted because of this.

Both of these issues could not be resolved during our 4 day stay which led to the staff agreeing to a partial refund of our booking fee after some negotiation.

Date of stay: 29th September 2017
The lodge as clean and very homly, the tea/Coffee welcoming tray a lovely touch.

2 minor things ~
1. Need a sweeping brush in the lodge - dirty paw prints & leaves on the decking
2. Its a shame the hot tub could not be moved around a bit to allow easier access by being able to step down on to the the higher bit
Kingsley, London
Date of stay: 25th August 2017
Having arrived at the property we found that it was well presented, set in idyllic surroundings. Our only disappointment was having reported that the dishwasher was not working, a member of staff came round to inspect the machine, after an initial inspection he said he would return in half an hour. On leaving 5 days later he had still not returned.

The lodge has everything! As well as lots and lots of cupboard space. We especially liked the gate security as it made us feel very safe. The hot tub was simply devine!

Date of stay: 24th October 2016
The only downfall I found was that there is not much privacy for the hot tubs and neighbouring lodges can see you if your a bit conscious!

Would have liked a bath
But otherwise very clean, warm and well presented!

Date of stay: 24th October 2016
fabulous fantastic lodge well presented and set in a peaceful location. Small site suited us perfectly . Off the beaten track but with a car its no problem - just how we like it away from the hustle and bustle
If you want on site entertainment this is not the place for you. A perfect get away just what we needed. The Hot tub was fabulous and enjoyed by all . We only a stayed a weekend and could have stayed longer . There is no on site pool but if you have hot tub it didn't bother us as a family with 2 children . No place to eat on site which is a shame but not a disaster lots nice places out and about
Beautiful places to visit nearby and London only an hour away by train we had a day out in London it was great.
Maybe the addition of a washer/drier in the lodge would be a welcome added addition. All in all top notch stay

Date of stay: 9th September 2016
This is a caravan set into a deck. This is not a problem to us. It's equipped with everything you will need. It's a little overpriced but it's worth it to get away from the city. The caravan is not a 5 star hotel room, don't go there with that expectation or you will be upset. It is warm, friendly and perfect for a couple looking to get away. We also took our dog, this place is well suited for this.

Why put us near a stag/hen do ? We didn't sleep for 2 nights - have been there before -,totally understand - our kids are 13 & 9 but we cousins hear the tv even with all doors and windows shut - great place spilt by poor management of who was where when - avoid of you are a family

Date of stay: 20th June 2016
We had a great time at Rosewood Stud Park me and my friends. Our only suggestion would be for the outside decking area where the hot tub is to have a light. Taxi's were easy for us to organise, we got a taxi to Ely train station and Newmarket with no problem. We got the train to Cambridge from Ely station as it was a quick and easy option. The accommodation was really clean and very well equipped the little touch of tea bags, milk, sugar and biscuits on arrival is very sweet. We made friends with the park cat and named him Charles, the park is really well kept and its good to see the swans and horses etc. Hot tub was easy enough to use and we spent many hours in it! Overall we had a brilliant time here.

Date of stay: 20th May 2016
as I said before the place and surroundings were lovely it was quiet and peaceful, if I had to say anything bad it was just the beds were not comfortable, you could feel the springs in the double bed and the two singles were too small for adults, if it werent for this I would have rated it a 10
Amanda, Stroud
Date of stay: 16th May 2016
Lovely spacious lodge. Could have done with a few more utensils. Little things missing such as, egg cups, toast rack and table mats and coasters. Other than those few things, perfect.
Antony
Date of stay: 9th May 2016
There was only the 2 of us and the dog, so plenty of room. Master bedroom has on suite . Open plan kitchen diner lounge is very spacious and equipped. Spent most of our time in the hot tub though. The only comment I can make is that the lodges could benefit from a gate off the decked area as to stop dogs and or young children from wandering off, it would just give people piece of mind.
Alan, Milton Keynes
Date of stay: 2nd May 2016
Fantastic place and facilities would have been nice to have shops near you could walk to instead of having to get in the car every time.

Lovely mon-fri break, would go again. Just a little disappointed with the lack of a frying pan. The mattress in the master bedroom was not to our liking so we had pretty poor nights sleep. The rest of the lodge was very comfortable, with a lovely view across a large pond/lake.

Emily, Leicester
Date of stay: 14th March 2016
I loved where it was situated.... Very peaceful! It will improve once the other cabins have been built, it could also possibly do with a small shop maybe? But I understand there is not many cabins so this would be a waste of money probably... But it was very good value for money, staff were friendly and the paperwork/book they give you at the beginning was very useful, but it could do with a map of some sort showing some of the long walks you could take around the area?
The cabin itself was so clean and fresh.. Having the little things like fairy liquid and more than one toilet roll makes all the difference! The hot tub was gorgeous and clean... Overall, a great peaceful experience... And I will continue to reccomend it to people!
Nancy, Great Notley
Date of stay: 4th March 2016
Fantastic fireplace place with colour changing stones-mesmerising and cosy.

Lodge was well equipped-iron, iron board, large range of kitchen glasses, utensils, (lovely crockery with heart design) wash up stuff and lodge was stylish, clean, spacious. Lovely curtains, poles and voils for privacy.
Extra decking space outside front door was good for bikes.
Big lounge TV, TV in bedroom.
Quiet grounds.
Massive fridge freezer.
Quality Crisp cotton sheets. White fluffy towels.
Warm & cosy throughout.
En suite loo was a bonus
Great bedroom storage in main bedroom.
Good vanity area in main bedroom with stool, mirror and sockets

Could have done with an outside light, especially for eating out in warmer weather. The lounge light does not throw much light out but there were a couple of little lights in jacuzzi.

We stayed in lodge 5 but couldn't get wifi on our laptop all week but staff tried to help. We could get it if we stood outside lodge no 3 but the weather was too cold & wet to do that.

A lamp in lounge would have been nice as we had to have all lounge lights on or all kitchen lights or in darkness so not so cosy in evening.

Being next door to phase 2 building a screen would have been good for some privacy from workmen when in hot tub. Free bottle of wine nice touch though.

A mop would have been usesful.

Several doors really squeaky-need lunricatong. Noisy in middle of night if get up for loo.

Bring own sharp knives.
Fitted sheets needed, sheets kept getting rocked up on slippery mattress.

The online description undersells it.

Rain falling on the roof is pretty loud and woke me several times, then when the rain stops, there were random noisey splashes as the water fell from the overhanging trees.

All in all had a good stay and would like to visit in warmer weather if prices not too high.
Vicky, Essex
Date of stay: 29th January 2016
A cosy lodge which felt like home from home. Plenty of storage space too. The beds and sofas were comfortable but there was only enough seating for 6 people around the dining table despite being able to accommodate 8 people. However, there were chairs on the decking area which we could have used. For a group of people I think it was good value for money. I would stay here again.
Michelle, Birmingham
Date of stay: 21st September 2015
Fantastic place. We all loved our break away.
Just perfect
Leanne, London
Date of stay: 14th September 2015
What a wonderful lodge! Again faultless: spacious, comfortable and has everything you could need on a short break, including fully stocked kitchen amenities and utensils (even a pizza wheel!), linen, towels and a starter toilet roll for both bathrooms.

We enjoyed playing music in the evening (fab surround-sound speakers in the living room) while we relaxed in the hot tub with the disco light setting while staring up at the stars.

The ONLY niggle was the patchy Wi-Fi and rubbish phone signal, but youre on holiday, so this shouldnt matter. Turn off the mobile and enjoy your surroundings!

Also, make sure you head to the Bell Inn Kennett pub for dinner at some point during your stay, the food is divine and the owners are lovely.

Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon. :)

We started our holiday the week commencing the 23rd of feb, on arrival to the park we was greeted by a very helpful manager who showed us to our lodge. The lodge was very warm and very clean, we had everything we needed for the duration of our stay. The hottub was a nice add on for the week but unfortuantly i couldnt use it due to being pregnant but hope to come back in the near future. I would recommend this park to anyone looking for a romantic or relaxing break, we took our 5 year old son who enjoyed himself and did not get bored. Thanks for a great stay hope to be back shortly! Shame we had to go home a day early due to the "beast from the east" snow

Barrington Hall is an excellent place for a day trip and is particularly popular in the summer when the grounds and gardens are at their best. There is plenty of open space for children to play and many families like to bring a picnic. The beautiful house dates back to the 17th Century and the interior has been sympathetically restored to retain many original features. The ornamental gardens offers beautiful floral displays at all times of the year. Children's activities can be enjoyed during school holidays.

We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.

This attraction is currently under construction but we are looking forward to it opening in early 2011.  The philosophy of the Discovery Centre is 'healthy body, healthy mind, healthy planet and aims to change people's attitudes and actions towards our planet.  Educational as well as fun there are plenty of activities such as outdoor sport pitches, cycle and walking trails and indoor activity rooms.  This is a unique attraction for the whole family.

This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
