Me and my partner have just got back from a long weekend here, absolutely perfect if you want to escape life!!!
We got there at half 12/1 even though we couldnt check in until 4 and was just going to ask if they could give us a call when the lodge was ready (if it was going to be done before 4) and the plan was to explore while we waited but the owner said we could go straight to the lodge which was great! He was really friendly, showed us to the lodge and how the hot hub worked etc then he never bothered us again all weekend (although he was on hand if we had needed him). I read a review saying that the cabins were dirty but ours was immaculately clean... to the point where my partner tested the top of the four poster bed for dust as a joke (expecting there to be a bit as its high up and out of the way) but there wasnt any at all... the whole cabin was spot less! Has everything you would need for self catering... and the dishwasher was a nice extra! Hot hub was lovely... it rained the first night but we were still sat in the hot bubbles! And luckily the sun was lovely the rest of the weekend so was brilliant to sit in the hot tub in the sunshine... especially with the bbq going!
The pub down the road is nice although we never got chance to eat there as they dont serve all day on a Sunday and we had just missed dinner so we were a bit disappointed as we had read how good the good is (check the times)!
As we missed dinner at the pub and we had both had a drink we were a bit stuck for food so you need to think a head, luckily we found an Indian take away in just eat! Highly recommended! shabagh tandoori in Leominster! I rang and explained where we were staying, they delivered to us we just had to meet them at the Entrance... we were even cheeky and asked them to stop at the shop for us on their way and they did!!
These cabins are a hidden gem, they are in the middle of no where but still close enough to towns etc if needed. Great if you just want to get away from life and relax. We were a bit worried about no phone signal in case there was a problem with the children back home but we both had a signal the whole time. Would definitely recommend and will be going back!
Highlight of the weekend has to be sat in the hot tub at 10pm looking at the stars and as their isnt any light pollution from street lights etc the sky is pitch black and a real treat when the stars are shining!

Date of stay: 12th August 2016
We had a lovely relaxing 4 nights. A walm welcome to a spotlessly clean real log cabin. We enjoyed the secluded feel of Maple and the fact that we had no phone signal made us switch off completely. Enjoyed a day at Croft Castle, 5 mins away, exploring the house and gardens and another day walking the many trails from the car park. Also enjoyed visiting Hay, the cider trail and the local farm shops and cheese maker. Wish we had booked a week now
Mandy, Glasgow
Date of stay: 24th June 2016
We had a very relaxing break here.So good to come in at night and sit in the hot tub. The lodge itself is very well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Parking is a little tight if you have a larger car, but not a big issue as we only went out once a day. A great base to explore the surrounding areas.
Jemma, Llanidloes

Date of stay: 7th March 2016
Fantastic lodge with all home comforts included. Peaceful setting, very quiet and private hot tub was a welcome bonus. We stayed for 3 nights and it seemed so easy to forget about the daily grind and just relax. Would recommend the Elm lodge to any couple but it would sleep 4 comfortably - plenty of room. I'm sure we'll be back before long!

Absolutely lovely weekend away at Aymestrey Oak Lodge. Beautiful Hot tub. Lovely and clean. Great Value for money. The tiniest, smallest issue would just be that there was no hand soap and I didn't realise this until too late! Next time I will know! Other than that it was FANTASTIC!

Date of stay: 9th November 2015
What a lovely place to stay! Five of us went for a long week end to catch up. The inside was very well equipped, clean and nicely presented and the beds were comfy. The hot tub was a lovely addition, and was priced the same as otherlodges elsewhere that didn't have one so great value for money too. The staff are very friendly and the cabins look beautiful in their surroundings. There is no phone signal or wifi so not a place to go if you can't disconnect, but it has sky tv at no extra cost. We all had a great weekend thank you !
Barbara, Tamworth

Date of stay: 28th September 2015
Spotlessly clean
Huge hot tub
Not overlooked from any other lodge
Yvonne, Southampton
Date of stay: 18th September 2015
Excellent value for money have stayed at other lodges in Devon & Cornwall that have charged a lot more and had less facilities. Nice touch having the DVD's to watch and home "grown" eggs in the fridge. Chose these lodges for added extras of the hot tub, TV washing machine and dish washer. Internet was a disappointment for daughter however not a deal breaker and could get WiFi in most places we visited during the day.

Although the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen facilities were clean we did find to many cob webs for our liking hence the reason for the lower score. A one off deep clean would have given it a 9 or 10.
Stevie, Weymouth, Dorset
Date of stay: 28th August 2015
Beautiful lodge that was fully equipped for our needs.
We had the perfect complete escape that we were looking for.

The lodge was very clean and tidy and had more than we needed for our stay, there was even a collection of dvds! The tv was adequate, but a bigger one would have been better as the lodge was big enough.shower was great and powerful, and it smelt of fresh timber!
Only issue we had was that we thought towels were included and they werent, most of these places usually do have them included.

Great valve . Great location
Quiet and piecfull place to stay. Cabin was large and provides all amenities. Hot tub excellent. Everything was clean
Third visit here & although not far from home, feels a world away. The Riverside Inn is just 5 minutes walk away & excellent.
Amazing Finland wood cabin in a fantastic well maintain woodland area. The riverside inn serves amazing food. Another great long weekend away, which we will do again next year.
I wasn’t sure I was going to make it on holiday due to recent surgery and still unwell and due more surgery but went anyway and boy am I glad I did what a wonderful place to wake up in everyday. Wonderful views every morning to wake up to in a warm comfortable lodge. Has absolutely everything you need. We are coming back!! I’ve had my second surgery now... and will be looking to come back very soon xxx
Beautiful setting and immaculate lodge. Staff wonderful and helpful. A very relaxing break.
Love this lodge, this area. Perfect location for exploring Hereford. Great pub with amazing food within walking distance. For 7 years in a we have had our annual friends catch up here. Would have left a big 'Thank You' to the owners but no guest book available this year. Simply great, may return next year.....
Booked as a suprise weekend away for my husband, the lodges were easy to find, it was a lovely & quiet & very relaxing weekend, had a lovely meal at the riverside pub about 300 yards away from lodge, there was no signal on mobile phone o2 but that just added more peace for us, the hot tub was delightful & I will be defiantly be booking here again
We had the best time here with our three children! The cabin was warm, the hot tub was easy to use & not overlooked, and the staff were great. There’s no 02 signal in Oak but we were happy for the peace & quiet!! The only downside was that lots of places were quite a drive away, but that’s the only negative we had. Fab time had by all!
Beautiful cabins. This was our 6th visit & there will be plenty more! Perfect for a small group. Games night, hot tub, trip to ludlow & fab sunday dinner just down the road. Highly recommend!
