Stratford Upon Avon Lodge Retreat Reviews

"Great overall, just wish there were more activities available."
Sarah - May 2025
"We had a fantastic stay from start to finish! The place was super peaceful and spotlessly clean, with all the modern gadgets you could need - dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer and a microwave in the lovely kitchen area. Everything was thought of, even a tea towel roll tucked inside with some washing up liquid and a sponge. The staff and housekeepers were genuinely lovely and did a great job. Parking was a bit tight, but it didnt spoil our visit at all. Were definitely planning to come back - feeling refreshed and wishing we didnt have to leave! The big smart TV, comfy leather sofa and cozy bed made everything even better. Heating was quick and effective, warming the lodge up in no time. Brilliant stay overall!"
Emma Carter - Mar 2025
"We had a lovely stay overall. The lodge was well kitted out and kept us warm, which was great. The settee and armchairs were a bit on the firmer side, but nothing too bothersome. We did notice a few minor issues like the bathroom window being stuck and the broken pull cord on the bedroom blind, which made it tricky to let in light. Also, no dustpan or broom was a surprise, as we always try to leave places tidy. Still, we enjoyed our time!"
Harriet - Mar 2025
"Great spot for a peaceful stay, central enough to explore nearby towns and cities easily."
Emily Carter - Mar 2025
"Our Stratford Upon Avon Lodge Retreat review: Great stay, would recommend it."
James - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was well-equipped and felt brand new. A couple more cups and plates would be handy, but overall, great stay!"
Alex - Feb 2025
"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It had everything we needed for four nights and the peaceful setting was perfect. The bath and shower were so luxurious-made the stay even more special! Definitely coming back."
Rachel - Feb 2025
"Great location, comfy beds, would stay again"
George - Nov 2024
"We had a fantastic stay! The place was spotless and really well set up. What made our trip special was Jemma at the front desk - so friendly and genuinely caring, shes a real asset. Also, Kiernan from maintenance was brilliant, checking in on us daily. Truly good service all round!"
Alexis - Oct 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the place was lovely!"
Michael - Oct 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was stylish and super comfortable."
Claire - Aug 2024
"Very comfy and well-designed place"
Charlotte - Jul 2024
"Honestly, our stay was fantastic. Everything was spotless and well organised. We couldnt believe how much fun we had. Definitely planning to return soon, it really exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!"
Samira - May 2024
"We just got back from a lovely 4-night stay at Stratford Lodge Retreat. The check-in was a bit delayed because the lodge wasnt quite ready at 4pm, but the staff were really friendly and helpful, so it wasnt a big deal. When we finally got to lodge 37, we were impressed-everything was spotless and in great nick! The beds were super comfy and there were plenty of towels. A quick tip-bring your own soap, cleaning supplies and dishwasher tablets if you plan to use them since there werent any provided. The first morning brought a bit of a hiccup with no heating or hot water, but we called the team and despite a wait of about an hour, they got the boiler sorted and even sent an engineer while we were out. The rest of the trip was perfect-definitely a great base for exploring the area. Would recommend!"
Alexandra - Mar 2024
"Nice lodge, well kept and perfect for our stay."
Martin - Mar 2024
"We really enjoyed our time at Darwin Escape Lodges. The staff, especially Barbara at reception and Chris in maintenance, were super friendly and helpful. The lodges themselves are spotless and come with everything you need. The hot tub was definitely a highlight! Our dog loved the dedicated exercise areas too. Its our second visit and definitely wont be our last!"
Mark - Feb 2024
"Weve been here twice now. The parks really lovely and the hot tub is always spotless. The lodge could do with a bit more attention - some cobwebs in the bathrooms and the furnitures looking a bit worn now."
Amelia - Jan 2024
"We recently stayed at Stratford-upon-Avon Lodge Retreat and honestly, it was a lovely experience. The lodge itself is stunning and perfect for a relaxing break. The hot tub was a highlight - so warm and inviting, we spent quite a bit of time there. The location is just right - close enough to pop into town and explore, but also far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet. We appreciated the free WiFi and the car charging station, which were both very handy. That said, a few little things could be improved: the cushions on the sofa could be more comfortable, as we had to use pillows instead and there was a large cobweb on the light in the en-suite shower room - not the end of the world but a bit off-putting. Also, none of the clocks were correct and the big wall clock was ticking but not showing the right time. The doors in the bedrooms did hit the mirrors and shower screens sometimes, which worried us a bit with young kids around. Still, none of that really spoiled our stay - it was all quite minor. Wed definitely come back and recommend it for a peaceful getaway!"
Ellie - Jan 2024
"We had a really lovely stay! The lodges size was just right for a cosy weekend away. Its beautifully decorated, modern and super inviting. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, especially with those star lights overhead. The bathroom was truly impressive. Only thing missing was some cushions on the sofa. Wed come back for sure!"
Harper - Dec 2023
"Cozy place, really well kept, loved it!"
Hannah - Dec 2023
"We had a lovely stay at the lodge, which was really well equipped and super comfy. The hot tub was a big hit with the family, definitely added to the fun! Two of the bedrooms had en-suite bathrooms, which was handy. The weather was fantastic and the roof fan kept things cool. Overall, a great break - wed happily recommend it to others. Really enjoyed our time here!"
Oliver - Sep 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay here, its a lovely spot to unwind. The kids had a blast and that hot tub was just brilliant! Would definitely return."
Sam - Aug 2023
"We recently stayed at this relatively new resort and honestly, the accommodation was top notch. It was during a blazing heatwave, so bringing along an extra fan might be wise unless you're fine with the heat! The jacuzzi was a real highlight-used it daily and it was spotlessly maintained by a friendly guy every single day. The location near Stratford is great, with plenty to do. Supermarkets are a short drive away and the disc golf right across the road is a fun bonus. Thanks a lot!"
Jamie - May 2023
"Lovely park, clean inside and around on paths"
Jill - Aug 2022
"We had a lovely week at stratford on avon lodge retreat it was beautifully laid out and extremely quiet. Some of the lodges did seem to be a bit of a walk from the designated car park which would make it very awkward for some people carrying their luggage . Overall it is a lovely place to stay"
Margaret - Aug 2022
"We did not want to leave. Our neighbours did not want to leave. The lodges were perfect. This pretty much sums it up! It’s so relaxing - what a lovely area of the world."
Judith - Aug 2022
"A lovely modern lodge in a perfect location close to many lovely towns and villages."
Helen - Aug 2022
"We had a lovely holiday in the lodge, well equipped with everything you need for your holiday, the only thing we would say is that the bath didn't get even luke warm so had to fill it up from the boiling hot water from the sink, we mentioned this to the very helpful receptionist who sent someone to have a look at it but said it that the temperature was regulated to stop accidents buti it didn't even get luke warm The views were amazing and not far down the road was Hatton Village, a great place for all the family."
Anne - Aug 2022
"Lovely lodge & only 10 minutes away from Stratford upon Avon city centre"
Array - Aug 2022
"Great holiday, will definitely be coming back. Barbara at reception was so welcoming and helpful, the works needs more people like Barbara!!"
DEBORAH - Aug 2022
"Excellent quiet location. Good base to visit surrounding areas. Dog next door did keep barking and the children kept hitting their ball against our van. One point thought they had broken a window."
Rachel - Aug 2022
"Quite location, would book again."
Martin - Jul 2022
"The lodge was stunning. Stylish but cosy. Very well appointed. The bed and en suite with freestanding bath and shower room was a real treat. The surroundings were very well kept. Not sure if letting the wild flowers grow between lodges is deliberate but we loved it. It's a short drive to Stratford on Avon and easy to get a taxi. We'd love to stay here again."
Sam - Jul 2022
"Very nice site and the Lodge was just perfect also a great location which was nice and quite."
