Angrove Country Park Reviews

"One of the best weekend breaks I have had. So peaceful and relaxing. Lodge was beautiful staff lovely and very helpful. We will be back"
Angela - Jul 2022
"We've just returned from a trip at Angrove Country Park, staying at one of the Escape Outdoor Living Lodges. After arriving at reception, we were guided to the car park where a member of staff in a golf buggy took our bags and dropped them at our lodge - this was great as it took some of the stress of carrying all our bags away! When we arrived at the lodge we were delighted to see a fan had been provided as it was a very hot day. The overall appearance of the lodge was impressive - very modern, kitted out with fresh bedding, towels and little extras like dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. I was also impressed that a range of different plastic cups were provided for the hot tub area, a pint of milk was in the fridge, charcoal and firestarters were provided for the BBQ, and free WiFi was available for individual lodges. The park is currently under construction and not many amenities are available on site - however an excellent restaurant is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner so all bases are covered. A crazy golf is also being installed. The park itself is situated a few minutes drive from Great Ayton, a lovely little village with pubs, restaurants and shops should you need anything else. It's also situated very close to Roseberry Topping which is worth a visit if you enjoy walking/hiking. We experienced an issue during our stay - our fridge freezer was not working and as a result, our frozen food defrosted. The out of hours staff visited twice but couldn't really do anything except ask us to wait until the morning. Luckily the fridge freezer seemed to fix itself overnight but it was a bit inconvenient for the first night. Perhaps if alternative accommodation was available we could have moved. Having said that, we used the outdoor fridge for anything needing chilled. When we used the hot tub for the first time we noticed it wasn't as clean as it could be - perhaps this needs to be reviewed in the feedback process. Overall, however, we absolutely loved our stay at Angrove Country Park and would love to come back. The outdoor kitchen area makes this park stand out from others and it was amazing just!"
Emma - Jul 2022
"Very quiet and relaxing break, near the coastline, dog friendly site lodge's very cosy and clean"
Hazel - Jul 2022
"Picturesque location, looking on to the Cleveland Hills, Rosberry Topping, Captain Cook monument. Walking distance in to nearby village of Great Ayton, recommend Royal Oak and dog friendly too. Didn't walk to Stokesley but did drive there. Lovely, clean, well equipped lodge, outdoor living escape, with not only hot tub but outdoor kitchen complete with bbq and fridge. Everything provided for bbq. This is the most compact lodge we have stayed in with Leisure Resorts but the outdoor kitchen makes up for this. It isn't too small and is very comfy but in comparison to other lodges, we've been in, is. The outdoor seating on the decking and at outdoor kitchen is very comfortable, however maybe instead of a dining set on decking more of a lounge set? We took our dog as did many others, so dog friendly. Our dog didn't get a welcome with dog bed, treats etc must have been forgotten. We did have an issue first night we arrived, fridge didn't appear to be working and freezer not freezing. I did call out of hours number but didn't receive a response, not sure why this is as every staff member we met was so friendly and helpful and sure if they had received the message it would have been dealt with. Used outdoor fridge and in morning fridge was working. No instruction manuals which would have been good. The Woods lodges don't have parking at lodge but the car park is close and luggage is carried to lodge in golf buggy at check in. The site is in development but it is very well maintained and will just get even better. We were not affected by work being carried out. We felt the location of our lodge was ideal and we had privacy around our hot tub but some others didn't. The day we arrived was very hot but staff had opened all windows and left a fan running. Ate and drank at the G&Tea Cafe a few times, dogs welcome outside. All site & restaurant staff friendly, very hardworking and welcoming. Used an Indian for a takeaway, Akbars Darbar, they delivered to car park, amazing food. Found it a very peaceful site, enjoyed watching the children play in the sun and spotted some wildlife too. Will definitely be back."

"Our Angrove Country Park review: One of the nicest places we have visited. It is still developing and in time I think will be even better. The lodge was spotless, beautifully finished and had everything you need for a relaxing stay. We loved the outdoor kitchen and hot tub. It could do with a little more privacy around hot tubs, but we never felt overlooked or uncomfortable. Staff are incredibly helpful and do all they can to make your stay perfect. We will definitely return to Angrove Park."
Jen - Jul 2022
"Fabulous weekend everything about the site and lodge was first class inside lodge was smart and relaxing outside hot tub also fab and the outdoor kitchen and bbq was a definite bonus with the hot sunny weather such a relaxing time we also loved the G n Tea house on site very smart scrumptious food and drinks and very friendly service we will definitely return here and have recommended it to all our family and friends"
Wendy - Jul 2022
"Lovely park in idyllic location. Beautiful lodge with hot tub. Lodges are nicely spaced out so very private. Still some landscaping going on but it didn't bother us. The roads need to be tarmac because the current gravel is very noisy and dusty."
Jill - Jul 2022
"The park is still being built so there is noise from this. However it did not interfere with our stay. Staff very helpful and couldn’t be more pleasant. It is situated between 2 villages which had plenty amenities for what we needed. Although hard to believe just off a main road as it is so peaceful and the views are spectacular from the lodges."
Louise - Jul 2022
"We have just returned from a fabulous week. The lodge was beautiful clean and well equipped. We especially enjoyed the outdoor area and the hot tub. Also the dog basket and treats were a lovely touch. The surrounding areas are beautiful. 2 gorgeous villages with a nice walk to each especially with a dog. We will definitely be returning."
JulieAnne - Jul 2022
"Had a fantastic relaxing time at Angrove, the outdoor space at the lodge was used alot as due to the great weather we spent almost all day out in the hot tub or under the sun shade. The Big Green Egg BBQ was very easy to use and the charcoal and fire lighters were always well stocked. Staff at reception and maintenance guys were super helpful and friendly, only downside to the site was the G&Tea house bar closes at 6pm most of the week. The village of Great Ayton is only a 15 walk away and has a few cafes and bars to choose from, the pizza in The Poorhouse restaurant was a highlight of the holiday. Fletchers Farm cafe and farm shop also well worth a visit. We have already looked at booking for same time next year."
