An excellent cottage. Beautiful views, well stocked with everything you need.

Weve just returned from a wonderful week at Postcard Lodge in Polruan, Cornwall, and honestly, what a place! It completely exceeded our expectations. The house itself was absolutely tremendous. It was beautifully presented, exceptionally clean and felt incredibly luxurious, while still being warm and homely. So many thoughtful little touches had been considered throughout the house, and everything we could possibly have needed was there. The bedrooms were spacious and beautifully furnished, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and everywhere you looked there were lovely little details that made the stay feel really special. One of the real highlights was the terrace, hot tub, seating and barbecue area, which had the most breathtaking views across the River Fowey. Sitting outside, relaxing in the hot tub or enjoying a barbecue while taking in that view was just incredible. We even had the added bonus of watching a spectacular fireworks display during the regatta weekend, which made the whole experience feel even more magical. The hosts were fantastic from start to finish. They contacted us before our stay, checked in with us during our visit and were always so helpful, kind and responsive. It really felt like they genuinely cared about us enjoying our time there. The location of Polruan was perfect for exploring Cornwall. The village itself is incredibly pretty, and taking the little river boat across to Fowey was one of our favourite days. Fowey had lots of lovely independent shops, places to eat and plenty to mooch around and explore. There are also some beautiful beaches along the coast nearby, and the location gave us a great base for exploring further afield. We particularly loved the atmosphere down at the quay in the evenings. One evening there was live music and another there was a hog roast, and the whole place had such a lovely, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, and it was exactly the sort of Cornish experience you hope for when visiting. Postcard Lodge really is a very special place. Beautiful surroundings, incredible views, luxurious and comfortable accommodation, thoughtful hosts and a fantastic location. We honestly couldnt have asked for a better week and would absolutely love to return. 5 stars without hesitation we didnt want to leave!

A wonderful property that delivered on all fronts. From early notification that we could take possession early to the birthday chocolates and decorations left by the owners our stay was made all the more special! The house comfortably accommodated three adult couples with a room to spare and we enjoyed all the facilities with the location, views delivering constantly. We would strongly recommend this property for a stay in this beautiful corner of Cornwall with all the local facilities available to ensure all bases are covered for any holiday break

A beautifully presented, practical property with stunning views across Polruan. A real credit to you! Well equipped kitchen and living area, very comfortable beds with ensuite bathrooms made our stay very enjoyable. The upstairs kitchen is a great idea for use of the roof terrace. The surrounding area is all there to explore, we had the best holiday in the UK ever! Thank you!

Postcard Lodge is a stunning modern property with everything you could possibly need. The beds are super comfy, and the layout works brilliantly for a large group, with plenty of different zones to spread out and relax. I travelled by train from Nottingham direct, no changes while my husband drove down I am not a fan of motorways. My point is its absolutely doable by train. A taxi from the station is around 60, and you can easily enjoy the area without needing a car. The view is the absolute highlight. Truly breathtaking. Access is steep, to say the least, but after a day you do get used to it think of it as a free cardio workout lol! For arrival and departure, getting dropped and picked up from the harbour is definitely best, as you can walk down rather than up to the car park. Everyone we met was so friendly. We loved the boat trip to Fowey, and Looe is brilliant for shopping and fresh fish. The hosts were available if needed, though we had no issues during our stay. Will we be back DEFINITELY!! I would suggest an air fryer and a repaint of the white wall outside

Postcard Lodge is perfectly situated for a relaxing break close to the town centre. It was impeccably clean and well presented. The owners responded immediately to any queries we had which were only regarding the TV as everything else was perfect. If you can manage the steep access then this is the perfect place for friends and family to enjoy a very comfortable break

This was our second time here and again we loved the house and the area. A perfect holiday house, with comfort the beds, great layout social open plan space, facilities multiple bathrooms, TVs, hot tub, and a great big plus the incredible view. The only negative is the steep trek down from the car park with the luggage, but all that gets forgotten with the many plus points. We had the best time, thank you.

A bit hairy driving to where we could unpack the car. Then took us a while to actually find the property, probably more down to us! Anyway once we were unpacked and settled we could appreciate how lucky we were to be staying here. Stunning views across the estuary 24 hours a day. The house offers everything you could possibly need including a hot tub. Beds very comfortable. Great showers. Wifi hit and miss but thats to be expected. We crossed over to Fowey several times on the ferry. Tried to get to Mevagissey but we were too far down the queue to get on the boat. If you want to take this trip you need to start queuing early. Walked to Gribbin point and Polperro. Visited The Eden project and Charlestown where they were filming beyond paradise. Lots of National Trust places to visit too. Weve had a fabulous stay and loved the house and surrounding area.

Review for Postcard Lodge Our stay at Postcard Lodge was nothing short of incredible. The house itself was beautiful and impeccably clean, with a wellstocked kitchen that made meal preparation a breeze. The views from the living room, kitchen, and rooftop terrace were simply breathtaking, offering a perfect backdrop for our holiday. An unexpected highlight was the extra kitchen upstairs, which wasnt mentioned in the listing but turned out to be a fantastic bonus. It was incredibly useful for the rooftop area and BBQs, allowing us to enjoy delicious meals outdoors. The beds were exceptionally comfy, ensuring restful nights for everyone. The kids loved the upstairs games room, which they transformed into a cozy movie room in the evenings while the adults enjoyed our own movie night on the large TV downstairs. The local shop nearby stocked everything we needed to top up after our Asda delivery, and both pubs right on our doorstep served fantastic food. We particularly enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch at the Lugger Inn. The small beach provided hours of fun for our children, and the takeaway fish and chips from the Lugger Inn were a delightful treat. The best part? We didnt use the car at all during our stay, as there was so much to do right from the house, making it a truly relaxing getaway. We also spent plenty of time fishing during our stay, and my husband even caught a seabass from the pier. Adrian and Sue were exceptional hosts, always available to help with anything we needed. Its safe to say that we will definitely be back again. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean, high spec. Has amazing views. The only thing that wasnt working was the Electric BBQ it was showing a fault and would trip the electric. We have informed the owners and said they would have a look at it. The owner was very responsive of any questions we had prior to arriving at Postcard Lodge. Would definitely recommend staying.

Beautiful house and perfect location. Thank you for a lovely stay. Definitely fitter with all the hills & steps. Had some lovely walks. Highly recommend Lantic Bay but be prepared for a climb up after but well worth it as the bay is beautiful. Highly recommend this house for comfort and location

Postcard Lodge is a wonderful property and we really enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious, clean and very well cared for. Attention to detail and it had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Bedrooms well set out with comfy beds and plenty of wardrobe space, bathrooms all to a high standard and powerful showers. Roof terrace was a great space, we were not so lucky with the weather so didnt use it as much as would have liked but the hot tub was great. Views are amazing. The house is in the middle of a steep path, which could be difficult for anyone with bad knees and you have to park at the top car park but it helped us all get our daily steps. We paid 35 to park in the car park for a week, there were plenty of places but may struggle in the high season. Two minute walk to the ferry which takes you over to Fowey and we drove out to Polperrin which is close by. I would without a doubt book this house again, it was wonderful.

Beautiful property in a lovely quiet location.

We all, from 9 to 76, had a lovely holiday in Postcard Lodge. Polruan certainly tested even the fittest of us, but the house, setting, facilities and comfort meant we had to drag ourselves away at the end of the week. The Lugger Inn, bakery, cafe, brilliant village shop and the novelty of frequent ferry rides all added to the experience. Even the weather was kind, so we had a perfect holiday.

Lovely, comfortable house, furnished and fitted out to a very high standard and in a great location with superb views across the estuary and river.

Postcard Lodge was all we wanted from a holiday cottage. Fantastic views, amazing house so well layed out with everything you could ever need. The quality of everything was second to none. Yes it is a climb up to the house but this is Cornwall and most villages this old are like this but dont be put off by that the views from most angles of the house are worth that climb. We had a very enjoyable holiday and would certainly come back to Postcard Lodge. Thanks also to Adrian our host who was very helpful throughout our stay

We had a lovely time at Postcard Lodge but unfortunately for us Polruan and accommodation was far too hilly. The thought of going out and climbing back up the hills put us off going out sometime.Also not really suitable for young children because of stairs to kitchen.We still spent lovely time in Hot Tub and went to Fowey a few times.

The description of how to drive as close as possible to the property was useful, but it would have been very helpful to have a description of where to walk once we got to the top of School Lane. It took us ages to find Postcard Lodge, looking about in every direction. We found the stone stairs between the kitchen and the lounge area treacherous, since they are black and stony, and twice nearly tumbled it down them. As nice as the open plan room is, taking the chrome rail across the top of the steps to leave a smaller gap may prevent a serious injury to a guest in the future, and we highly recommend it. All that said we loved Postcard Lodge! It was a superb venue for our nuptials.

Postcard lodge was a dreamy Cornish getaway, we loved everything about our weeks stay here The luxury living space, the hot tub with an amazing view, the spacious bedrooms with the added bonus of comfortable mattresses and the social living and kitchen area. Everything about this property was well thought out and planned, the kitchen was one of the most well stocked holiday homes weve been to. There is plenty of bathrooms for everyone, the owners have really outdone themselves in terms of quality holiday provision. Like previous reviews have mentioned you dont get car access to the front of the property but this in no way should put you off, its definitely some extra effort when arriving and leaving but it certainly added a little adventure to our half term break and gave us a laugh when we arrived in the dark. We travelled as a party of seven four adults and three teenagers and there was plenty of space for us all. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring this side of Cornwall and having postcard lodge as our base was a real treat.
