"Our Lilliardsedge Holiday Park review: We had a fantastic time staying here! Sharon and Robert really went out of their way to make us feel at home, which was lovely. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for our dog Archie - he felt secure and happy. The location was just right, with loads of walks nearby and Thaxted and the surrounding villages are absolutely charming. We definitely left feeling refreshed and relaxed, so it was a great break for us!"

"We had a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead. Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into restoring this historic building and it shows. They greeted us warmly, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The location in Essex is perfect for exploring Thaxted and nearby villages - so much charm and history to discover. It's a peaceful spot for anyone looking to unwind and soak up some local character. Definitely recommend!"

"We had such a lovely stay at this cosy cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet it feels super private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely and welcoming. The place itself is really spacious with well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, making everything easy. The bed was incredibly comfy and the garden, dog-proof and secluded, was perfect for relaxing. There are lots of walks nearby and Thaxted has some cracking eateries like The Star and The Maypole. Wed definitely recommend it!"

"The setting was beautiful, overlooking the golf course, which was lovely. The hot tub wasnt very private, which was a bit of a letdown and we felt some internal updates are needed-clean towels and fixing up fixtures would really boost the place. For what we paid, it should be 5-star, honestly."

"We stayed in a spacious lodge that felt really cosy and had plenty of room to relax. The beds were super comfy, which made our nights really restful. When we realised we didnt have oven gloves, I asked at the shop and almost instantly, a friendly staff member knocked on our door with a pair. They explained that because of COVID, gloves arent kept in lodges, but you can always ask for some. We really appreciated how helpful and attentive the staff were-it made our stay even better!"

The hot tub was a real treat after a long day out cycling. Just a heads up, the cottage is quite close to Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of plane noise. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but if youre sensitive, its worth considering. Overall, a great place to unwind!"

"We stayed at Lilliardards Lodge for a weekend in late February with a group of us in our early twenties. First off, the staff were genuinely friendly and polite, which made a big difference. The lodge itself was spotless and really well maintained - we were quite impressed by how much detail had gone into the little touches, like the welcome basket and the Bluetooth speakers tucked into the ceiling, which was a nice surprise. One small hiccup was the bathroom lock - we let reception know straight away and they were quick to offer to fix it either during or after our stay, which we appreciated. It wasnt a big deal at all, but its good to know theyre responsive. The service for bathrobes and slippers was also a highlight; they delivered them to us promptly for the hot tub, which was lovely. However, the robes were pretty rough and not very comfortable. As a tall woman, I found them quite short, coming up to my elbows, which wasnt ideal and the guys had similar issues. Honestly, Id suggest bringing your own if you can. Overall, the place was super clean and well-kept and wed definitely recommend it if youre after a tidy, friendly spot with nice little extras. Wed definitely come back!"

"It was a great stay , the pod was very clean and hot tub was excellent, I would say a canopy over the hot tub would be a future improvement to stop tree leafs going in the water but over all a great little holiday"

"Staff were friendly, even called me to say the unit was ready and we could check in early. Only downside for us was the units are very close together, for the most part this wasn't an issue, but then a family checked in near the end of the holiday, their kids were allowed to do as they pleased, hitting the side of the home with balls and frisbees, playing catch next to the cars and not always catching the ball, parents just sitting watching them do it. Spoiled the last few nights."

"Our lodge (a lilliards 4 bed),was great ,very well equipt and spotless.the bed was very comfy.the decking was large with very nice furniture ,and the hot tub was fantastic .overall a relaxing holiday .the only gripe would be the 4pm check in and 9am check out. 2pm and between 10am and 11am would be better"

"Lillesrdsedge is a very large and well laid out site that is meticulously maintained (can border on the intrusive with the level of noise from some of the machinery at times)

The Linden pod we booked was excellent for our needs and all supplied for use within pod was of excellent quality. Safe and secure for our dog.

The Tavern food was again of excellent quality but lacking a pool table which would have kept my 17 year old entertained.

Plenty of outdoor seating. Takeaway van was a nice option for a few evenings too.

Check in time of 4pm I feel is too late, especially as on-site shop closes at 5pm. Check out time of 9am is far too early also."
