Great family break in a lovely peaceful location.

Great rural location. Lovely park with great lodges and hottubs. The couple running the park were really nice, friendly and helpful. We stayed in Westlands 5 first week in April. The lodges have fully enclosed decks which are perfect if you have a dog. The site is well maintained and plenty local dog walking off site. With lots of local shops and supermarkets nearby, you dont have to take many supplies with you which is great.
Dawn
A lovely serene place to have a relaxing holiday. Lodge immaculate and was heated for our arrival late at night. Staff very accommodating and friendly, great value for money
Rob

Karen

Liza

Julie
Fantastic lodge, in great location
Anna
This holiday was made for me through the helpfulness of the managers...they were fab. I would give the location 10 personally but gave it 8 just simply because we didn't have the greatest of views but that didn't bother me at all....and also because you do have a little bit of travelling (min 20 mins) to places to visit but again I didn't mind it. Loved the place, the lodge was excellent as was the hot tub to rest the aching limbs. I had dogs with me and they loved the place...... Would recommend the park.....basically because you felt welcomed and valued which is not always the case! Would recommend the area for a dog holiday there is so much to do and see
Susan
Fantastic accommodation in a lovely location. Very peaceful and relaxing.
Alison
We had an awesome weekend away! Staff were really friendly there. Only negative was not realising you need a £200 deposit just in case you break the hot tub....we got the £200 back but just as well I had the money in my account to cover this.
Andrew
Lovely accomadation with your own hot tub to unwind in when ever you want. Spacious and modern, a home from home feeling. Great location for exploring the surrounding area been so close to the A75. Sandybay was a great place to take your dog and the steamboat inn was a fabulous dog friendly to eat on your route back. Would definately return.

Fun Days Out near Mouswald Lodge Park

Mabie Farm Park - about 7 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Castle Douglas - about 20 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
