Westlands Country Park Reviews

"We had a lovely stay at Westlands Country Park. The location is spot on, just a quick 5-minute drive to the M74, making it super convenient. Our Stargazer lodge was modern, spacious and super comfy. The hot tub was a real highlight, offering great privacy thanks to the surrounding fence. We also enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant - the food was tasty and the staff friendly and attentive. The bar area looked really stylish too. Well definitely be back!"
David - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, definitely returning soon."
Emma Carter - Mar 2025
"We recently spent four nights in a Stargazer Lodge and honestly, it was fantastic. The views from the hot tub were stunning and the lodge had all the essentials. The onsite bar and restaurant felt really welcoming and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Loved the peacocks wandering around too. Well be back for sure!"
Charlotte Evans - Mar 2025
"Weve visited Westalnds a few times now and always get a warm welcome, plus the lodges are really lovely. This time we stayed in the Savannah Lodge. While it is a nice place, it wasnt quite right for us. The two-bedroom layout for four people feels quite cramped - honestly, you sit so close you could bump into each other! Also, if youre using the appliances, the smoke alarm goes off because its super sensitive, which was a bit of a pain. The location of the hot tub was a bit disappointing too - having to walk across the front of the lodge in the open isnt ideal and some of the covers were missing. On an evening, the huge street light nearby makes it floodlit, so its not as relaxing as other lodges, which had more private settings. The lodge itself is lovely, but probably better suited for fewer people or just a smaller group. Still, we love the area - the setting is fantastic and well definitely be coming back!"
Emily Carter - Jan 2025
"Our Westlands Country Park review: Lovely space, feels cosy and well designed"
Harper Evans - Dec 2024
"Nice little place, but could use hooks."
Oliver - Dec 2024
"We've been coming here for five years now and booked again for May. Just wish there was a kids play park nearby, that would be great!"
James - Oct 2024
"We stayed here for a few days with the kids and honestly, it was brilliant. The cabin was super clean and had all the essentials. The hot tub was topped up every morning, which was a nice touch. Definitely a perfect little escape for us!"
Sarah Bennett - Oct 2024
"Really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere here"
Jake - Oct 2024
"We stayed in the Debonair Plus and honestly, it was brilliant. The place felt huge with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area meant everyone had enough room. Perfect for our little family getaway!"
Charlie - Jul 2024
"The lodge was really tidy and nice, but you could tell its getting a bit old. It probably needs a proper upgrade or replacing soon, though. Still a decent stay!"
Martin - Jun 2024
"Really enjoyed the stay, staff were lovely and welcoming."
Alexei - Jun 2024
"We stayed at the escape pod recently and really liked it. The place was super modern, spotless and had a cosy vibe. The hot tub was a lovely bonus, perfect for unwinding after a day out. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed for self-catering, which was handy. The shower room was lovely, with a heated towel rail and all the essentials like a hairdryer, TV, iron and ironing board. The loft had a bed and the other sleeping options-like the fold-out table bed and the sofa bed-meant we all slept comfortably. Overall, a really nice stay, wed definitely go back!"
Sam - Feb 2024
"Really enjoyed our visit, the park was lovely and food was fantastic!"
Helen Carter - Jan 2024
"We celebrated our anniversary here recently and everything was lovely. The lodge was spotless and had modern decor. The staff really made us feel welcome. Absolutely would recommend and stay again!"
Chris - Jan 2024
"Overall, we had a nice stay at the lodge. The site was well-maintained and clean and we enjoyed our time there. The only downsides were the limited glasses and oven dishes, plus not all cupboards were tidy and we found some old nails stuck on. Still, it was a pleasant experience!"
Lucy - Jan 2024
"Weve visited twice now and each time, its been a great experience. The staff are super friendly and always willing to help out. Grounds look lovely too!"
Olivia - Dec 2023
"I honestly loved the place! Its super modern and spotless and the hot tub was just fantastic. We spent ages relaxing in it, totally unwinding. Would definitely go back!"
Rachel - Nov 2023
"We booked this place for my partners 40th birthday weekend, bringing along our two kids aged 10 and 18, plus the dogs. Honestly, the site is stunning and super peaceful, perfect for a chill getaway. The lodge looked exactly like the pictures online and having a hot tub was a real bonus - our daughter loved soaking in it, even when it was raining! The place was spotless and felt so homely, we didnt want to leave. We enjoyed peaceful walks around the grounds in the mornings, dogs trotting happily alongside us. We also dined at the restaurant twice - breakfast and Sunday lunch - and both meals were fantastic. I asked Susan if she could help us decorate the lodge as a surprise and she was so helpful, even organising a cake with the chef. Massive thanks to her for going above and beyond with the customer service! Oh and dont miss the milkshakes from the Katie Coos shed - theyre a real treat! Well definitely be coming back."
Jess - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed it, will return"
Ben Collins - Nov 2023
"The lodge was really cosy, no complaints at all. Just a little fan might help when it gets quite warm inside, especially during summer."
Alex - Nov 2023
"Looking forward to visiting again"
Jane - Jul 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, would recommend it."
Michael - Jul 2020
"Weve just come back from our 4th stay at Westlands and honestly, its always a pleasure. The staff, even during these strange covid times, are genuinely friendly and helpful. One thing that would have been handy is knowing which kitchen bits werent included beforeh and - we had to run out and buy a few things like a chopping board and casserole dish. Also, the welcome pack wasnt quite what was shown online, so we were glad we organised a delivery to arrive when we got there. The area itself is really lovely with plenty to do, well definitely be back!"
Jamie - Jul 2020
"We had a great stay at the Pondview cabin, plenty of space, lovely decor and that hot tub was just what we needed! Definitely recommend."
Mark - Mar 2020
"Really loved the overall vibe of the place."
Ellie - Jan 2020
"We stayed at Parkview 10 and it was a lovely place overall. The lodge had all the amenities we could want and the decor was really nice. The shower over the bath was a bit tricky for us tall folk and the pans were a let-down since they were all dirty when we arrived. Still, it didnt ruin our break - we had a great time!"
Amelia - Nov 2019
"Really enjoyed the experience overall."
Jessie - Oct 2019
"We really enjoyed our visit here. The view is stunning and its such a chill place to relax. Its exciting to see theyre building a new reception with a bar and restaurant - thatll be a real boost. If youre not into cooking, the local takeaway options are handy and some even deliver to the park. Cant wait to see the finished upgrades!"
George - Sep 2019
"We had a lovely stay at the lodge, it was super comfy and well-equipped overall. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, even if the weather wasnt perfect! The only thing we missed was a second frying pan and some tongs for cooking and serving. Still, it was a great break!"
Harriet - Oct 2018
"We absolutely loved our stay, beautiful surroundings and not too far from day trips out. Restaurant was equally lovely and the food was amazing! Staff were really friendly and helpful, already looking at a break for next year ?"
Janine - Aug 2022
"Just returned from a lovely holiday at westlands country park. The park was lovely, slightly rough around the edges but this is to be expected with a new park. We stayed in a stargazer lodge at the end of the park which was serene, the hot tub was spotless and the lodge itself was lovely. (Did find a few areas that weren't as clean as I'd have liked, but nothing a quick wipe down couldn't sort!) If you're over 6ft though i would advise that the lodge could be a bit squishy especially if you plan on using the loft room. The tv is a smart TV but has no smart features as its unable to connect to any WiFi even though there is WiFi across the park. The park is totally dog friendly which was a winner for us, however the balcony doesn't have a side wall where the hot tub is so my dog did do a runner and escaped so bring something to tie your dog to if they can't be trusted! The shooting range operates from about 9am to 5pm and boasts a lovely walk round the park, however if you have dogs that fear loud noises this is NOT the place for you. Tesco in Annan is a 5 minute drive away, and on arrival you are given a promo code for a local shop which delivers right to your pod which is amazing! The restaurant is lovely and reasonably priced, and there is a small shop within the building selling a few cooled items like drinks and 'fridge food'. If you are staying with a dog I'd highly recommend driving down to powfoot beach, park on the green in the village and walk down to the sandpiper cafe for a drink and then walk back, on a sunny day it is beautiful."
Megan - Aug 2022
"Can’t fault this place you get what you see in pictures the place is immaculate lodges spotless and have everything you need . It was a bonus having the washing machine , dogs loved the walks around the park and their welcome pack was a special touch we loved the peace and quiet . The park doesn’t have anything for kids or night time entertainment but that was fine for us but if you have small kids it’s not for them . We loved it so relaxing ."
Sharon - Aug 2022
"The park was lovely, clean and tidy surroundings and well maintained. Good location for travelling to a variety of places."
Hannah - Aug 2022
"Thourghly enjoyed our long weekend break, The lodge was lovely and clean and bonus with hot tub. We booked the clay pigeon shooting prior to our stay for the Suday and we both enjoyed the experience, just wish it was longer than half an hour but still recommend the experience. Overall the place was nice and I found staff friendly enough. We bought a milk shake from Katie's Cow vending machine on site, which was delish ? We found local village Eastriggs to be ideal for walking our dog as it was only 5 mins away and there were a few good waking paths."
Joanne - Aug 2022
"Great location, remote while 10 mins from supermarket and restaurants etc. great shooting experience. Escape pods with hottub are amazing and have everything you need. On site Restaurant is lovely and value for money."
Brian - Jul 2022
"Everything you need in the lodges."
Sandra - Jul 2022
"Absolutely brilliant lodge,, very clean and immaculate. Little extras are a bonus, dog box, kitchen box. Hot tub brilliant."

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 22 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 28 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ
about 31 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 33 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
