Aspen Country Park Reviews

"We had a lovely stay! Mar was fantastic, super helpful and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us!"
Emma - May 2022
"We had a really nice stay here. The park was peaceful and perfect for relaxing. The manager was super friendly, met us at the lodge and explained everything about the hot tub. She also gave us some handy tips about the local area. Definitely recommend for a chilled weekend!"
Emma - May 2022
"We loved this lodge! Its so sleek and spotless, with everything we could ask for. The hot tub was a real highlight-so relaxing and it was checked daily. Well definitely be returning sometime soon!"
Emma - May 2022
"Honestly, I was expecting some dog hairs or mess, being a pet lodge and all. But I was really impressed - everything was spotless and the facilities are top-notch. Definitely will be coming back! Such a pleasant surprise indeed."
Emma - May 2022
"Our Aspen Country Park review: Had an amazing weekend, definitely planning to return soon!"
Emily - May 2022
"We really enjoyed our visit. The place was comfortable and great value for what we paid. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made everything easier. Only downside was we didnt get a receipt to claim expenses, which was a bit annoying."
James - May 2022
"Great experience, can't wait to come back."
Oliver - May 2022
"We stayed at the lodge recently and honestly, it was quite a nice place overall. The decor was modern and the space was quite generous, which was a bonus. However, we did notice some dead flies under the windows, which was a bit off-putting, but we managed to clean it up ourselves. The shower was a bit quirky; when we turned it on, steam caused the toilet bolts to leak an orange liquid-really not great! The bed was on the small side, especially since my partner is over 6 foot and Im only 56, so we felt a bit cramped, not much room to stretch out. The TV was a bit of a letdown too; it had Netflix and Disney+ but no wifi connection, so whats the point? We also had to do a channel scan after noticing only six channels, but once we did it, loads more appeared-wish wed done it sooner! Despite those bits, everything else was pretty decent and we had a good stay overall."
Harriet - Apr 2022
"Quite enjoyed our stay, would return again."
Emma - Apr 2022
"We really enjoyed the lovely, spacious cabin and the hot tub was a real highlight. Sadly, the dishwasher wasn't working and the main shower in the master bedroom was unusable because the water was too hot. We couldn't find a contact number for staff either. Still, a nice place overall!"
Emma - Nov 2021
"We had a pretty good stay overall. The place was spotlessly clean and super comfy, plus well stocked with everything we needed. The only downside was the noise - its close to a busy road, so nights could get a bit loud and theres a bit of a smell from the nearby sewage plant. Still, were definitely planning to come back because we really enjoyed it. The park itself isnt much, but there are nice walks, good pubs and the All Saints Hotel Spa was a real treat. Wed recommend it!"
Emma - Oct 2021
"We had a fantastic stay! The log cabin was cosy and luxurious. Plenty to explore nearby, from Suffolk to Norfolk coast. Definitely a place we'd visit again, highly recommended!"
Emma - Aug 2020
"Great experience for both kids and adults, we loved it!"
Emma - Aug 2020
"The lodge floor was pretty grimy when we got there, which was a bit of a letdown. Apart from that, we had a lovely, relaxing week."
Benji - Aug 2020
"We had a great time at this place! The lodge was spotless and super cosy and the hot tub was just perfect. With only one other lodge occupied, it really felt like our own private retreat. Loved it!"
Emily - Mar 2020
"Great place, would return"
Emma - Mar 2020
"Had a fantastic break with my wife in such a lovely lodge! Definitely recommend."
James - Feb 2020
"We had a fantastic weekend in this cosy lodge. Its really spacious and comfy, with all the essentials. The hot tub was a real highlight! Perfect spot for visiting family across Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk!"
Sarah - Feb 2020
"Really enjoyed our stay, lovely walks and a beautiful park, definitely coming back again soon!"
Emma - Feb 2020
"Really loved the cosy vibe and all the little touches."
Amelia - Feb 2020
"Really enjoyed our stay, would return."
Emma - Feb 2020
"We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it was fantastic. The laminated floors made it so easy to clean up after muddy paws-huge plus! The hot tub was just spot on for relaxing and the lodges amenities didnt disappoint. The park itself isnt lively, which some might find a downer, but for us, it was perfect for peaceful walks with the dog."
Emma - Jan 2020
"The lodge was really cosy and comfortable, we felt right at home. There was a tiny bit of dog hair on the floor, but we expected that since pets are allowed. No big deal!"
Alex - Jan 2020
"Great spot, would definitely come again."
Emma - Dec 2019
"Great place, really enjoyed our stay"
Emma - Sep 2019
"Wed happily come back, the scenery was stunning and the lodges so chic."
James - Aug 2019
"We had a fantastic stay at this place! The modern design and lovely decor really made us feel at home. The layout suited our family of five perfectly and the spacious decking was a big hit with our dogs-safe and roomy for them to roam. Honestly, its a place wed happily return to. Definitely a solid 10/10 from us!"
James - Aug 2019
"We were a bit worried after reading some negative reviews, but honestly, our stay was quite lovely. The place was spotless and nicely furnished. Sure, the hot tub took a while to warm up and the wifi wasnt great for the kids, plus the Nespresso machine wasnt working. But honestly, we enjoyed disconnecting and relaxing without all the tech fuss. It was a nice break!"
Emma - Aug 2019
"Absolutely loved our stay! Can't wait to return again soon."
Emma - Jun 2019
"Absolutely loved the vibe here!"
Emma - May 2019
"A beautifully clean and well kept lodge. The park was quiet (no shop, entertainment area, play park) which was perfect for us. A great place to stay to visit Bury St Edmund's, Newmarket and Ely before relaxing in the hot tub in a peaceful environment. Mar and her team were friendly and always only a call away. We would definitely return."
Amanda - Jul 2022
"Lovely holiday when we arrived mar came and welcomed us straight away really friendly and showed us round the guys who work with her are great clean the hot tub every day and leave you to enjoy your holiday if you need anything mar will do what she can to help we will be back"
Lynn - Jul 2022
"Beautiful park with an amazing lodge. Really quiet and peaceful, perfect for a break away. Lovely village pub around 10 minutes walk and only a 10 minute drive into the local town. The only down side we found is that we were in a lodge near some works going on, so sometimes it became a bit noisy."
Anita - Jul 2022
"Definitely recommend this place - really clean and well presented- Mar the site manager was really friendly and helpful. We used it to meet up with family it was just perfect. Thank you for a lovely stay"
Karen - Jul 2022
"Beautiful cabin, lovely quiet park, could do with a shop. Would definitely go again."
Andrew - Jun 2022
"The lodge was lovely and the staff were exceptional. Had a lovely holiday"
Gina - Jun 2022
"Fantastic peaceful location with very helpfull staff."
Phillip - Jun 2022
"Great peaceful break. Lovely lodge with hot tub and helpful staff. A visit to Bury St Edmonds was a good day out. Only negative was on last day we were packed and in the car ready to leave at 8.55am. I was setting up the sat nav and a lady drove up and sat in her car waiting until I moved the car from the parking space. I moved out of the space so she could park as I assumed she was the house keeper. She then drove up behind me and sat there so I had to move again. She was basically forcing me off the site. We were due to leave at 9, I was a few minutes early and so this annoyed me. Once I’d driven off she drove away to another lodge!"

Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE

This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 19 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 21 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.

Colchester Zoo is a fantastic place to visit with something for all the family.  Wander around and see the array of animals in excellent habitats.  Don't forget to visit the Leopards at Ussuri Falls, this new expansion can be located opposte the White Tiger Valley and the Medellin Momkeys.  Other popular areas of the zoo include Tiger Taiga, Chimp World and Wallaby Walkabout.   Look out for special events throughout the year such as Shriek Week on Halloween.  If you book tickets online you can obtain a discount of 10% and are also fast tracked on entry to the zoo - a great idea in the school holidays.
Great Notley Park - CM77 7FS
about 30 Miles
This attraction is currently under construction but we are looking forward to it opening in early 2011.  The philosophy of the Discovery Centre is 'healthy body, healthy mind, healthy planet and aims to change people's attitudes and actions towards our planet.  Educational as well as fun there are plenty of activities such as outdoor sport pitches, cycle and walking trails and indoor activity rooms.  This is a unique attraction for the whole family.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 34 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 38 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
