We recommend The Woodbridge for couples looking for a luxury break.  With a double bedroom and open plan modern kitchen and luxury lounge, the lodge is extremely warm and welcoming. The large decking area with sofa and outdoor hot tub make an amazing setting for enjoying the sunsets while sipping a glass of wine.

For families, looking for a break, we suggest The Aldeburgh. With two bedrooms and open plan lounge and kitchen with fireplace, the lodge is fantastic for creating holiday memories - not forgetting the large decking area with a hot tub.

There is lots to do in the area- Castles and Museums like Ipswich Museum or Oxford Castle make great days out filled with stories and rich history of the region. For those who like to do more engaging activities there is a fitness centre in Diss, Weybread Pits with six fishing lakes or an Indoor Kart Racing centre in Ipswich.

Dunwich beach and Dovercourt Bay are also located a short car ride away offering options to spend the day exploring the coastal walks or enjoying yourself at the resort on Dovercourt bay Beach.

"The Teasel lodge is really cosy and well-equipped. Loved the fluffy towels and comfy bedding-perfect for a relaxing break!"

"Honestly, this lodge was fantastic! The decor was cosy and modern, making us feel right at home. The welcome pack with milk, bread and eggs was a lovely surprise and the tea and coffee pods really hit the spot. There were loads of towels, slippers and dressing gowns - such a nice touch. We liked it so much, we booked again before even leaving!"

"We really enjoyed our stay. The place looked even better in person than in the photos, which was a lovely surprise. Our private cottage with a hot tub was just perfect. Everything was spotless, modern and of a high standard. A great escape for a weekend or longer!"
Emily - Feb 2020
"We had an absolutely lovely first getaway here. The place is so peaceful and perfect for unwinding. Its handy having a Tesco nearby and plenty of options for eating out, plus we enjoyed a game of bowling just ten minutes away. The lodge itself was fantastic-really cosy with a big comfy bed and a hot tub that we loved. The welcome pack was a nice touch. Only a little hiccup trying to figure out the in-built speakers, but overall, were keen to come back!"

Mark - Aug 2019
"Really enjoyed our stay here, the place was peaceful and private. The cottage was gorgeous and spotless. Well definitely return, its a lovely spot!"
Emma - Jul 2019
"Really enjoyed the overall experience here."
James - Jul 2019
"Honestly, this place is probably the best lodge we've ever stayed in! It's still pretty new, so the area around it isn't fully developed yet, which is why I gave it an 8, but I reckon once everythings settled, itll easily be a 10. The lodges are cleverly placed so youre not overlooked and with the meadow in the middle, it feels really spacious. Were definitely coming back once its more established and Im sure we'll notice a difference. The little touches inside, like the coffee machine with pods and the essentials in the fridge, really made it special. Plus, the hot tub is such a lovely bonus after a day out. Oh and if you fancy a good meal, the Duke of York on Ipswich Road serves fantastic food and the local Indian restaurant delivered our first nights dinner - lovely break! We loved every minute of it!"
Emma Clarke - Jul 2019
"Great quiet location, modern lodges with everything you need, you don’t need to bring anything, washing up liquid/tea towels for example as everything is provided. Oven spotless and loads of towels. The only thing I would say is these places do start to show wear and tear after a while. The odd bit of wall paper is peeling off and the door near one of the showers is mouldy and needs repairing. The bed in the main bedroom is low but that’s just my taste liking one higher. The front door had a few cobwebs and hand prints as did the balcony area and if these tiny things were fixed it would make the place even more immaculate than it was. It is a lovely place and I would highly recommend."
Helen - Aug 2022
"We have been to quite a few cabins. But this one is the best one so far"
Adrian - Aug 2022
"Excellent break, lodge immaculate and comfortable. Located in a beautiful meadow it is peaceful and quite, not for those who want entertainment, but only 3 miles from Woodbridge for shopping. The staff were helpful producing an iron and ironing board when we asked, the hot tub was checked a couple of times a day and everyone was so pleasant. Highly recommended!"
Michael - Jul 2022
"Lodge was amazing, clean and nicely decorated. Good location for venturing out in Suffolk. Hot tub was good and felt private, would definitely visit again."
Kerry - Jul 2022
"Worth every penny defo stay here again"
Reuben - Jul 2022
"Amazing! Luxurious well equipped lodge on a quiet park. Already booked to go back in September. We enjoyed every moment of our break."
Tina - Jul 2022
"This is a stunning lodge, every care has been taken with the set up and furnishings. Fabulous bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, lovely towels and bedding. Hot tub was excellent and all so clean! The only one thing that was a bit of an issue was the Wifi. It was fine for browsing but to watch Netflix etc it was extremely slow and we gave up. Other than that though it was perfect and would not stop us from returning/recommending to others."
Gemma - Jul 2022
"We went here for a little honeymoon, it was such a lovely little lodge! Such a quiet site where all the lodges are, and they are all spread out really well so you get some privacy! Everything was really clean and even had some eggs, milk & butter in the fridge when we arrived. Will definitely go back and recommend to everyone"
Molly - Jul 2022
"Booked here to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. The cabin was well equipped and everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided."
Amy - Jul 2022
"The place is luxuriously stunning, has everything you could possibly think off from a wine fridge to underfloor heating. The staff are incredibly friendly and extremely helpful. I will definitely be returning here again."
Tiffany - Jul 2022
"What a beautiful lodge. Looked even better than pics did. We stayed in primrose and would highly recommend. Lots to do within 20min car rides and some lovely beaches. Customer Services were great if you had any queries."
Andrea - Jul 2022
"Lovely location, which was close to some amenities if needed, but was still far enough from busy surrounding town centre, was beautifully decorated to the highest standard, would 100% recommend for long or short stay."
Simon - Jul 2022
"I stayed in this lodge with my husband and parents. It was spotlessly clean and very luxurious. The decking area was very large with comfortable seating and hot tub. We had a very relaxing break in a very peaceful location. I would highly recommend and would definitely book to go again"

Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 8 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 25 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Africa Alive - NR33 7TF
about 26 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Colchester Zoo - CO3 0SL
about 27 Miles
Colchester Zoo is a fantastic place to visit with something for all the family.  Wander around and see the array of animals in excellent habitats.  Don't forget to visit the Leopards at Ussuri Falls, this new expansion can be located opposte the White Tiger Valley and the Medellin Momkeys.  Other popular areas of the zoo include Tiger Taiga, Chimp World and Wallaby Walkabout.   Look out for special events throughout the year such as Shriek Week on Halloween.  If you book tickets online you can obtain a discount of 10% and are also fast tracked on entry to the zoo - a great idea in the school holidays.

Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 34 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Great Notley Park - CM77 7FS
about 38 Miles
This attraction is currently under construction but we are looking forward to it opening in early 2011.  The philosophy of the Discovery Centre is 'healthy body, healthy mind, healthy planet and aims to change people's attitudes and actions towards our planet.  Educational as well as fun there are plenty of activities such as outdoor sport pitches, cycle and walking trails and indoor activity rooms.  This is a unique attraction for the whole family.
National Horse Racing Museum - CB8 8JL
about 39 Miles
This is a museum with a difference and a must see if you are into horse racing.  You can take guided tours around the museum or choose to wander round yourself admiring the exhibits.  New for 2010 is a Junior Fun Tour which is ideal for children.  Simply ask the gallery staff for a Fun Tour pack when you enter the museum and kids can answer questions and spot clues and tips on the way round.  One of the most popular recent exhibitions is the Thoroughbred: State of the Art exhibition in Gallery 5 on until 31st October.  Check out their websites for the latest exhibitions.
