Heathside Lodges in Suffolk will appeal to those looking for a peaceful base to explore the local area.  With a secluded setting these lodges have much to offer couples and families wanting a restful holiday but close enough to local towns should you want to get out and explore.  The market towns of Southwold, Aldeburgh and Walberswick are within reach for days out with a range of shops and restaurants.

The accommodation has been well designed and we like the Blyth Lodge for couples which sleeps 2 and comes with a private outdoor hot tub.  This lovely lodge also has mod cons including wifi access and flatscreen TV with freeview.  The spacious living area is ideal for relaxing and the french doors leading to the private decking are a nice touch.

The Waveney Lodge is slightly larger and sleeps 4 making it a good choice for both couples and families.  Brand new for 2011 this lodge is sure to be popular with a spacious open plan living area, private decking and outdoor hot tub.  All of the lodges are also double glazed making them a cosy choice even in the colder months. And of course the outdoor hot tub can be enjoyed in all weathers - even snow!

The Deben Lodge is also new for 2011 and is the largest of the lodges.  Sleeping 6 adults this is a spacious lodge with two double bedrooms and one twin.  One of the doubles has an en suite bathroom and there is also a family bathroom within the lodge.  With plenty of mod cons including microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer the Deben Lodge provides a comfortable base for your stay.  You will also enjoy use of your own private outdoor hot tub, as well as a balcony with patio furniture.

The local area is perfect for exploring. Some recommended days out include the Suffolk Odyssey Llamas in Halesworth less than 3 miles from the lodges, and Africa Alive in Lowestoft less than 10 miles away.

Date of stay: 25th June 2018
The only negative things I can find to say is that there were a few cobwebs in the high corners that I noticed and the scissors in the kitchen could have done with being replaced as they were totally blunt and useless!
Peter, The Netherlands

Nicola, Rochester
Date of stay: 9th April 2018
A great holiday if you want to kick back and relax. The kids loved the hot tub and outdoor facilities. Lodge was very spacious and spotlessly clean. My only comment would be that the living room could do with a standard lamp. The lighting is very bright and its on or off. Apart from that everything was perfect. We will definitely be back.

Date of stay: 9th March 2018
I went away with 2 friends. We had a lovely time. The lodge was clean and tidy. We had our own private hot tub which just made our 4 night stay complete. The only down side was we arrived on the Monday at 3pm and our tub wasn't warm enough to use untill Tuesday. But other than that we had a fab time. They supplied us with a list of restaurants and pubs near by too.
Selina, Essex
Date of stay: 26th February 2018
Lovely accommodation with everything that you need for
a break away.
Date of stay: 26th February 2018
Its the 2nd time we have been here, the lodge is stunning and immaculately clean. The only reason I gave the overall rating 8/10 is due to arriving each time on a Friday and not being able to use the hot tub until the following day as it wasnt hot enough.
Date of stay: 23rd February 2018
Would love to come back again!

Date of stay: 12th January 2018
Nice lodge, very small comments such as the plates were tiny, not a lot of utensils in kitchen, hot tub lights broken, sofas dip when sat on, stingy with the bin bags/cleaning things.
However this did not effect our stay, I would recommend staying here just bring your own kitchen things if you are fussy like us.
Lynn, Doncaster
Date of stay: 3rd January 2018

Date of stay: 30th October 2017
Absolutely stunning. Very spacious and beautifully bare in decoration. The kitchen was well equipped with enough utensils and space for me to cook meals for 8 as we spread over two lodges. The ensuite in the master bedroom is the same size as the main bathroom - huge! Hot tub was lovely and warm and we enjoyed it even when the temperature wasn't great outside. The only 1 thing I would say is the hot tub definitely wont fit 6. Probably only 4 realistically as the water level will rise too much. This wasn't really a problem for us as we only had 4 in each lodge but if there are 6 people you'll have to take turns!
Helen, Norwich

Date of stay: 27th October 2017
A beautiful, peaceful situated lodge. Everything you need is there. We used the jucuzzi both day and night, such a relaxing way to spend your time soaking in bubbles looking at the countryside in the day or the stars at night. I really liked and appreciated that you don't park your car next to/outside your lodge. It stops all the banging of car doors and shining of headlights when people come and go. To be honest we never heard any cars at all! There is a lot of space inside the lodge, we loved it, we went in October for 7 nights so appreciated the underfloor heating, we never felt cold. I really liked that there was no clutter, no silly pictures or ornaments, clean, neat and peaceful. We loved it and will be back
Emma, Fife
Date of stay: 20th October 2017
This was my first time away with my kids. Wasnt expecting it to be as nice as the pictures but it was actually nicer. Saw reviews on the hot tubs saying they were too small but us 3 adults and 2 kids fitted in fine! Staff were very friendly, on site shop was handy and very cheap. The lodge its self was massive and had plenty room. Lots of towels and very modern furnishings. Will definitely be back, hopefully for a longer period! My only thing that I would say could be improved is the door locks on the inside are twist and unlock and when you have an escapee artist son like mine its not very handy. Apart from that 10/10!
Lee, Stansted
Date of stay: 13th October 2017
Amazing short break. I would only say that the mattress in the master bedroom was not very comfortable, otherwise it was really great
David, Derby
Date of stay: 13th October 2017
The lodge was absolutely superb with everything needed for a relaxing holiday.
Cannot agree with the comments regarding siting of the lodges as they are not too close together and you can only see your immediate neighbours. The lodges are fairly new and young trees have been planted between each one, once that begin to grow and mature each lodge will have complete privacy.
We would highly recommend these lodges and hope to revisit in 2018.
Donna, Erith
Date of stay: 9th October 2017

Would highly recommended and would definitely return! Only tiny negative was the WiFi - although it was very good when connected, we found we had to reconnect every hour. Not a problem if you don't use it much but we did. Otherwise 10/10! Great prices too!
Keith, Chesterfield

Roger, Northampton
Date of stay: 30th September 2017
Liked the lodges. A pity they had not been arranged slightly at an angle to each other which would have increased privacy and not given all residents a straight line view along all of the balconies.
Holly, Norwich

Date of stay: 23rd September 2017
All really good, only slight request would be to block in decking side panel otherwise you looked straight on to next doors hot tub & they into ours. Got round it by putting the hot tub lid there!
Stephen, Cricklade, Wiltshire
Date of stay: 22nd September 2017
The lodge was fabulous, with plenty of space and the facilities (including the hot tub) were excellent. We had a problem on the first night getting the DVD player to work - the remote control was very confusing - but after that we didn't really want to watch the telly anyway.
Date of stay: 22nd September 2017
Beautiful lodge only complaint airless
Diane, South Norfolk
Date of stay: 22nd September 2017
The lodge was lovely and a great hot tub. Very comfortable for 6 of us. Lodges are a bit close together so not private. The owner made sure we realised it costs a lot of money to refill the hot tub every change of user!! He also hammered the point home of not leaving the outside lights on and also said he was worried that if all 6 of us got into the hot tub the water may come out over the top due to the size of us!
Denis, London

Date of stay: 24th July 2017
Lodges were lovely, really spacious and hot tubs the icing on the cake! Site was really peaceful and tranquil and was clean and well maintained, the shop has some useful bargains. Would recommend as a weekend retreat else if planning to stay longer get ready to use your car to find things to do, but it's a lovely part of the country so go out and explore!
Date of stay: 17th July 2017
We had a lovely time during our stay. It would have been great to have a little further infortmation on the walking trails available in our lodge. We attempted a walk and got a little lost!!

Immaculate when we arrived.
All essentials are supplied in the kitchen and hairdryers in the bedroom.
Slippers and robes also along with separate towels for use with hot tub.

Plenty storage space provided in the large wardrobes and drawers.

Entertainment also taken care of with multiple TV's and DVD player. Docking station, board games and books are a great touch. Even local take away menus provided.

There seemed nothing that they had not thought of.
Tony, Norwich
Date of stay: 5th June 2017
Possibly the best short break in the U.K. my wife and I have had in years, the owners were friendly and helpful, staff too.

Beautiful views and a cheap convenient on site shop, the log cabin itself was stunning and remote which was perfect for the nights in the hot tub with a few bottles of wine, we will be back again next year.

Date of stay: 20th March 2017
I have no complaints at all, but a thought....I have a disabled husband and it would be rather nice if a walk in shower room were possible for his ease of access rather than an over the bath shower....maybe in the future....?
David, Kent
Date of stay: 20th March 2017
Great lodge.
Date of stay: 20th March 2017
Lodge was clean and tidy. The park itself was in a good location for all the amenities. It was nice to have a shop on site. The only thing I would say is the the location of the lodge was overlooking a large grass area and sitting in the hot tub there wasn't any privacy.
Paul, Chesham

Date of stay: 9th January 2017
Our third stay at this location. Again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's peaceful and we always find the staff to be friendly and helpful. The lodge is comfortable, beds good and bathroom facilities are excellent and everywhere clean. Only negatives this time was that we suspect that our lodge had been empty for a while as it was very cold (the floors freezing) and it took ages to warm up. A lot of the heaters were switched off. We also had an issue with the fridge which didn't seem to get cold enough. However I consider these blips and everything else was just lovely. LOVE the hot tub We will be back!
Susan, Norwich
Date of stay: 9th January 2017
Good weekend for large family get together. We also asked for extra toilet roll...not enough provided & non extra given. This will not stop us coming back!!

Great accommodation, great value for money.
Jane, Ashford Surrey
Date of stay: 23rd September 2016
Orwell lodge great. Though as a female would like a mirror in bedroom with plug near for hair etc. Had to use mirror in lounge.
Also main en suite needs towel ring for hand towel as towel rail some distance from basin. This does not alter my rating. An excellent holiday. 10/10
Cherie, Staffordshire
Date of stay: 23rd September 2016

Date of stay: 12th September 2016
Best lodge we have ever stayed in.
Spotless & spacious. Only slight criticism was the fridge as it was difficult to store bottles of milk on the door shelf.
Just loved out stay so much that we have already re booked!
Susan, Newark
Date of stay: 15th August 2016
This is our third summer visit to Deben Premier Lodge no 11. So it must be good.
Great for the children to run around safely whilst we can sit on the veranda and still keep an eye on them.
Why not all tens.. Comfort most things are thought of but could do with a few extra cooking/ food storage things.
Furniture & fittings... a must is a larger fridge with a family and want to eat in fridge is too small.
Was very pleased with the new hot tub cover so much lighter and easy to handle.
Getting quite and expensive week hence value for money was down.
Lindsey, St Leonards On Sea

Date of stay: 22nd July 2016
The lodge was lovely only let down was the hot tub being quite a basic one, though it was still lovely!

No complaints for the lodge itself, it was lovely, with the little extras such as board games and wifi included as well as outdoor decking (we absolutely loved dining Alfresco)

Would highly recommend staying in a Deben Lodge

Date of stay: 15th July 2016
As already stated. Brilliant.
Date of stay: 15th July 2016
Very clean. There was only a sofa in the living room an additional chair would have been nice, but thats just being picky!!
Garry, Kingswinford
Date of stay: 1st July 2016
Very spacious lodge for the two of us - especially having a bathroom each!
The hot tub was luxurious - our first time in a lodge that has one and we'll be looking for similar lodges in the future.
The decking area next to the hot tub had a pleasant view of the countryside and should give more privacy in a year's time when the laurel bushes have grown some more.
Donna, Hertfordshire
Date of stay: 17th June 2016
Great place to stay. This was our third visit and we would definitely go back again. Location is close to Southwold, the lodge is clean and has everything you need. The hot tub was a hit with our little girl along with the little park, nature walk and donkeys. Staff were very friendly and helpful - couldn't ask for more
Taylors, Nottinghamshire
Date of stay: 3rd June 2016
We arrived at the lodges and were immediately shown around by the owner, he gave us the full tour, the do's and don'ts, showed us how to work the hot tub and then left us too it. The lodge was spotlessly clean, and by 8pm that night we were in the hot tub. We'd seen reviews that said they weren't private enough, but it wasn't an issue for us. The on site shop gave us everything we needed, and 5 minutes drive away is a decent enough little town for a pub lunch and the basics. Other than the awful weather it was a great week, on a great site, in a lovely lodge.
Michelle, Bury St Edmunds
Date of stay: 30th May 2016
Full of high quality furniture and fixings
Gavin, Hitchin
Date of stay: 30th May 2016
The lodge was amazing! It had everything you could possibly need and the fluffy robes and hot tub were to die for! Although there are other lodges very close, it felt quite private and secluded. The big green open space right next to the lodges was a real bonus for ball games & frisbee. The location was also perfect as the bike ride to the coast (Walberswick or Southwold), and to Dunwich and Minsmere is easy and relatively safe. And the local pub only 5 minutes walk away was really appreciated. :)
Date of stay: 30th May 2016
Lovely lodge in a lovely quiet setting.
Even though the site was full with campers and podders too we had no worries with the children and felt safe on site.
Amy, Clacton, Essex
Date of stay: 23rd May 2016
These lodges are really nice and comfortable with everything you need, the hot tub is great too if you can get to use it! The mattress in the master bedroom wasn't very comfy this time around unfortunately but only a minor thing! We'll definitely be returning.

First time we've stayed in the two-person lodge. Very roomy - the bathroom was huge! As lovely as all the other lodges.

Excellent lodge. Could do with some pictures on the walls, a lot of pine to look at with nothing on the walls.

Date of stay: 28th March 2016
We stayed at deben premier lodge at halesworth over Easter, the lodge was lovely couldn't fault it at all. One thing to note was if there are 6 of you staying then pack a large saucepan as we found it a bit of a struggle to cook large amounts with the size of the pans provided. Would definitely return though
Christina, London
Date of stay: 28th March 2016
Only thing is the main room could do with some more furniture - a bigger sofa perhaps. Other than that it was perfect, very warm and comfortable
Amanda, Benfleet, Essex
Date of stay: 11th March 2016
The lodge was really comfortable and furnished to a very high standard.
Emma, Northampton
Date of stay: 7th March 2016
Beautiful lodge warm and cosy and the hot tub was amazing. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Very helpful and friendly staff. The lodge was immaculate and robes and slippers a lovely touch. Only slight criticism was that there isn't a lot of kitchen utensils. Was no tongs for sausages/bacon but otherwise fantastic would highly recommend.
Barbara, Rayleigh
Date of stay: 4th March 2016
Stayed in Lodge No.8. There was only the two of us but were allocated a 3 bed lodge.
Lovely, clean lodge with adequate cooking facilities. We didn't use the oven so don't know if it worked.
Lots of room, enough clothing storage.
Very warm inside, great after getting out of the hot-tub on chilly Feb/March evenings.
Bathrobes and plenty of towels provided, even extra ones to use on getting out of the hot-tub.
Shop has a decent range of products at reasonable prices.
Owner and staff very friendly.
Hope to visit again :-)

Wonderful view. Well worth the money.
Date of stay: 12th February 2016
Only minor complaint is that the lodge is overlooked by the lodge next to it
Melanie, Ilford
Date of stay: 8th February 2016
The lodge was absolutely fantastic. Warm and cosy and with every mod con. The hot tub of course if the icing on the cake and it was great to know we could use it an any time whatever the weather. Only tip I would give is to bring your own towelling slippers as the ones provided are very flimsy and also two swimming costumes so that you don't have to try and get back into a wet costume if you fancy another dip before your costume had dried out.
Susan, King's Lynn
Date of stay: 25th January 2016
A proper path from the car parking area to the chalet would be good as crossing wet grass to access your chalet was not good.A bit more privacy around the rear of the lodge would be good as this area is visible by everybody when you are using the hot tub.
Victoria, Norwich

Date of stay: 30th December 2015
The lodge was nice but the sofa was very narrow so not easy to get comfortable on. Could also do with more than four plates, etc. Although there was a dish washer there wasn't enough flatware to actually use it. The grater was also rusty.
Mandy, Chelmsford
Date of stay: 27th December 2015
This was our second visit and we actually stayed in the exact same lodge. The lodges are perfect. Warm, comfortable and well equipped. Hot tub was fab. Staff were all so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We were there Christmas week and were delighted to find a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the lodge. We would highly recommend.
Jacqueline, Colchester
Date of stay: 27th December 2015
Merely niggles, that there was not a shaver socket, the edges of the kitchen cabinets had not been cleaned in some while and although the bathroom was extremely large maybe this would have been better with a separate toilet and bathroom.. An enjoyable stay nonetheless.
Date of stay: 21st December 2015
Needs bigger sofas
Monica, Alconbury Weston
Date of stay: 14th December 2015
Lovely lodge with probably the most private hot tub on the site. Although there are only two of us we find having the second bathroom really useful, especially when getting out of the hot tub and both want a shower at the same time. The heating is very good (we visit in December) and if we are lucky we even get a Christmas Tree.
Date of stay: 11th December 2015
The lodge was perfect for a couple's needs. Such a peaceful location, the hot tub was brilliant and the lodge was equipped for every need. Thank you for such a lovely holiday!

Lovely lodge with everything you could want for a holiday home. Really enjoyed the hot tub. Staff very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would improve is the lighting as I love to read and I found it difficult to find adequate lighting once dark. Otherwise everything else was excellent.
Sheila, Westcliff On Sea
Date of stay: 18th September 2015
These lodges are the best we have ever stayed in; being very well equipped and very clean. The master bedroom is spacious with plenty of space. The hot-tub is a delight.
The site is very well kept and very peaceful.
This is our third visit and we will, I am sure, be returning time and time again.

Date of stay: 14th September 2015
We were very pleased with the lodge and its quiet surroundings and enjoyed a very relaxing long weekend. The owners were welcoming and helpful. The only thing that stopped it being truly special was that my husband found the bed mattress rather lumpy. But that is the worst that I can say the rest was perfect. That said we will probably return even if we have to sit in the hot tub in the rain again!
Sarah, Grays, Essex
Date of stay: 14th September 2015
Had the most fantastic weekend away , upon arrival we were shown to our lodge by the owner who went through everything with us and also recommended places to visit and eat . The lodge was stunning , and very clean . The on site shop was good and very reasonably priced, and internet services very good which was a bonus for my teenage children . We will definatley be returning for a holiday / long weekend .

This is the second time we have visited this site and going back was not a disappointment.
In fact the site has improved with the addition of a shop and a children's play area.
Lodge clean, well equipped and staff friendly and helpful.
Would recommend and may well make a third visit as we love the area.

Blyth lodge was perfect for a couple, with absolute high spec furniture and equipment which made the holiday extremely relaxing and free from worry. The tranquil site which hosted camping and clamping pods too is kept immaculate. I would also like to make a special mention to Karen who's was friendly and very warming. I would highly recommend these lodges and would love to return very soon.

The bedrooms are great linen provided lovely.
Lounge seating not that comfy
Downside the fridge is to small for a family of six if not eating out much milk bottles fall off the door easily when opening there is ample room for a big fridge freeze at the side of units.
Mark, Greenford
Date of stay: 14th August 2015
Lodge was very nice, hot tub good, clean, nice site, lodges quite close together, can sometimes hear sounds from other lodges, hedges growing, which will screen a bit more. Enjoyed our stay in the lodge, would return, perhaps out of season, which would make it less expensive.
Crouch, Norwich
Date of stay: 14th August 2015
The only thing I noticed in one of Deben lodges was that the dishwasher was not fitted properly. It worked but needed a service or just checking over for its fittings. Everything else was high quality.

Date of stay: 10th July 2015
Very clean lodge and comfortable beds. Nice to have carpet in the bedrooms as quite often lodges have wooden floors throughout. Hot tub a really nice size for two. Only thing I would say - which is usually the same wherever we have stayed - is that the curtains in the bedrooms are quite thin so daylight comes through quite early in the Summer. Not really an issue and it certainly won't stop us from visiting again!

Date of stay: 29th May 2015
The lodge was spotless and modern - lots of thick towels in the bedrooms. Plenty of storage, spacious rooms, shower & bath and large heated towel rails in the bathrooms. The hot tub was great, very warm - we used it daily! The WiFi was a little slow but that is to be expected and it is very rural. Beautiful large grounds, wildlife, 3 gorgeous donkeys nearby, lovely walks. Would definitely return.

If I could give a rating for cleanliness it would be a definite 10+, our lodge was spotless. The bedding and towels were of a good quality and a crisp white. The lodge was also spacious. We were greeted warmly on arrival and given useful advice about the lodge, site and local area. The lady in the shop on site was also very friendly and it was a refreshing change to find that the shop was not over priced, consequently we bought our supplies there rather than heading off to a larger supermarket. We were provided with a list of local pubs and tried three for dinner during our stay, they were all very nice. The site is in an attractive environment. Would definitely recommend for a quiet relaxing break.

Perfect. Only thing I can fault is the fact we didn't have a mirror in the bedroom. Also, if there had of been 4 of us (there were only 2), the sofas were fairly small so couldve been a bit of a squash. Otherwise no complaints. Very happy!

Was in lodge 13, this one is the one right opposite the shop, it's still private as hot tub is sunken ans there are trees around its veranda. Beds are very comfy, and both ensuites are huge. They both have a bath with overhead shower, toilet and mirror with inbuilt lighting to help us ladies when doing our makeup :) wooden flooring throughout other than in the bedrooms. Beautiful furniture throughout too. Kitchen had everything we needed and more, including a dishwasher! only thing that would be a slight issue for some people (wasn't for me) was that there is only a fridge, no freezer.

Date of stay: 6th February 2015
Our accommodation was lovely. Very clean, tastefully decorated and in excellent condition.
A couple of suggestions:
1. A mirror in each bedroom for hairdressing would be more convenient than hair drying in the lounge.
2. A few pictures on the walls would offer a more homely feel to the accommodation
3. A pathway up to the lodge would help to prevent dirt being brought in on shoes.

Overall, we were very happy with our four-night stay and would highly recommend

We love the lodges, they are so warm and comfortable. Love the fact they are totally wooden throughout, makes them seem really cosy. All the facilities and 'bits and bobs' you could want are provided too.
Really like the fact that robes, slippers and towels specifically for the hot tub are provided too.
All the furnishings are really good quality.

Four of us went and stayed in lodge 1 . The bedrooms were just what we needed both with an en suite! Kitchen was lovely and spacious, with a dining table as well. The sofas could be a little bigger but we all managed :) there was a light outside one of the bedroom windows but when you close the blind you can't see it at all.

This is the first time we have had a two bedroom lodge, our usual one bedroom was fully booked. The convenience of having a bathroom each after being in the hot tub was great and I think we will be booking a two bathroom lodge again. Even after 4 years the lodges still seem new and are spotless, warm, well equipped and very well maintained.
Tracey, Lowestoft
Date of stay: 8th December 2014
A great place to stay with plenty of walks to pubs for a well earned lunch and the hot tub is bliss. Everything was spot on in the lodge except the previous people had left dirty plates and pans and put them at the back of the cupboards. The owners are great and nothing is too much trouble...highly recommended!

Date of stay: 14th November 2014
We visited the site when it first opened and they have maintained the same high standards in their lodges. Towels and gowns are clean and fluffy. The facilities in the lodges are very high spec, the sofas could do with being a bit larger to chill out on watch the TV but it's not really a criticism just a personal preference. The lodges are a comfortable luxury and we would definitely visit again.

Lodge was immaculate! It was clean, modern and had everything you needed. The hot tub on the veranda was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed using this. Our week was perfect. The area was a lovely place very relaxing and not too far from major towns/cities eg Great Yarmouth, Norwich etc.

My score is lower on furniture and fittings because the hob was difficult to use (the controls became very hot). It would also have been useful to have a shelf in both of the bathrooms. However, the hot tub was great and we all really enjoyed using it.

Vicky, Sheffield
Date of stay: 16th August 2014
Really disappointed that there wasn't a larger (half:half) fridge freezer in the Deben Premiere lodge, just a fridge with tiny freezer box. Lodges had bright automatic outside lights that were on all night and no thick curtains or blackout blinds meant couldn't get bedrooms dark enough for undisturbed sleep. Otherwise the lodge would have been absolutely perfect.

Lovely place and lovely holiday. As we were so lucky with the weather it would have been nice to have a parasol for when eating outside. Also some shelves in the bathroom would have been nice to put toiletries on. The bathrooms were lovely and large and could easily have accommodated a small free standing shelf unit. However all together a lovely, comfortable place in a lovely setting with a very well equipped and not to pricey shop on site. Hope to re-visit soon. Thanks

Blyth Lodge is a lovely little holiday home that is clean and well maintained, with a fully fitted kitchen containing everything you need. The sofa is not the most comfortable but that is the only thing I can fault. The hot tub is by far the best thing about this place, perfect to relax in after dinner, I could have stayed in there all night!

The only feedback is that when both showers were running, there was not enough pressure to keep one of them going.

We were in the bungalow lodge or 'blodge' as the owners call it, although this in view of the shop until the Laurels mature we found this accommodation to be the best lodge yet in our three visits to Heathside and would definetly request this one again.
We had an amazing holiday the log cabin was lovelier than we could’ve expected and the staff and people in the local area were lovely. We will definitely be coming again.

As always absolutely fantastic.
The lodge was very clean. Well fitted with kitchen appliances and had a warm feeling. It was also warm. The location suited us as it was peaceful. Despite the weather (rain and more rain) the nature trail was well thought out and enjoyable to walk. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. The resident donkeys also brought a nice aspect to the site.
Great place- went with an 18 month old and a 5 year old. We stayed in a 3 bedroom Deben premier and it was very very spacious with high ceilings and well equipped. There was a small amount of kids cups and plates which was helpeful. Only one dishwasher tab though. A good amount of kitchen kit. Hot tub was fun, and it was lovely to be looking on to the fields. The kids playground bit was lovely and we enjoyed the small walk next to it. The shop had a good selection of food and drinks and other bits and bobs. Downsides- The beds were not comfy- like sleeping on a rock. I would suggest bringing a mattress topper. The heating is controlled by the office using WiFi- I wasn’t too keen on this system as we got cold in the night and couldn’t turn the heating on. Hot tub didn’t heat up until the next day. If people are using their hot tubs in the evening or are outside playing or eating you can hear them very clearly. Not the end of the world, but worth noting :)
A wonderful relaxing hoilday
Amazing lodge. Beautiful location. So peaceful. We have been to this lodge in excess of 10 times. The owners are lovely helpful and nice. There is everything you need in the lodge and the hot tub at night u dear the stars is wonderful. I would recommend a break here to anyone there was nothing to find fault with.
Great location. Everything was clean and lodge was very spacious. Can’t wait to go back!

Fun Days Out near All

Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.

Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.

This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.

This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.

Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.

We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.

This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
