The Hollies Kessingland Reviews

"Overall, we really enjoyed it, but the kitchen could do with some improved utensils and tools. Cheers!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Great stay, the lodge was spotless and super comfy. Would come again!"
Emma Carter - Mar 2025
"We had a really lovely stay at The Harriet. The place was spotless and super comfy. They even greeted us with a bottle of bubbly, which was a nice touch! Our dog was made to feel welcome too, with proper covers for the furniture. Honestly, wed definitely recommend staying here - its like a home from home, really. Cheers!"

"We stayed in the Avocet and honestly, it was a lovely surprise! The space was huge and the kitchen was a real highlight. Bedrooms were comfy, clean and kept warm. Definitely a great stay!"
Alex - Dec 2024
"The lodge was comfy and spotlessly clean, though a bit basic. Some facilities looked a little worn, but overall, we had a lovely stay! Definitely recommend."
Emma Carter - Nov 2024
"The Jasmines location and enclosed garden are lovely, but the upholstery and carpets definitely need a proper deep clean. Could be better!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"We recently stayed in the Serenity C19 lodge and honestly, it was a decent experience overall. The place was really well equipped and spotlessly clean, apart from a few bits like the settees and carpets which could use a bit of a refresh - some of the soft furnishings looked tired and the bar stools had bits of material missing, which was a bit disappointing. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, a good-sized fridge freezer, microwave and even an iron and ironing board (although we had to ring reception to find out where they were, as they were tucked away under the bed lift!). The bed was comfy and the bedding was fresh and clean. Towels were also nice and fluffy, which is always a bonus. The hot tub was a bit of a let-down, to be honest. We were really looking forward to relaxing in it, but it kept locking and wouldnt restart after the jet cycle finished. The groundsman did come out at around 10:30 pm on Saturday to restart it and it worked for about 20 minutes before locking again. Sadly, he had already left by then, so we couldnt use it that night. The hot tub itself wasnt great either - just a basic round one with only 12 jets in total and it wasnt very hot either. For the price, we expected a bit more luxury and a better experience. There werent any instructions provided for things like the washing machine or cooker and the blinds were quite temperamental, not opening or closing properly. These little things could have made a big difference. The staff, however, were fantastic and really helpful whenever we had questions or issues, which we appreciated a lot.All in all, its a nice place, but the hot tub and some of the finishing touches could do with some improvement. Still, wed consider returning, especially for the cleanliness and the friendly staff!"
Emma Roberts - Oct 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay here! The house was spacious and the bathrooms were surprisingly big, not like some reviews suggest. The hot tub was just perfect after a day out and the heating with the fake fireplace added a lovely cosy touch. The enclosed garden was a blessing for our dog, who loves to bark at everything. We were so pleased to find the TV streaming services worked fine, even though wed read there was no wifi. Definitely coming back!"
Alex - Oct 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Its perfect for families, very comfy and quite peaceful. The limited phone signal and no internet took a few days to get used to, but we took some good books and it was fine. Having a washer/dryer and dishwasher was a lifesaver. Our lodge didnt have a hot tub, which we werent expecting, but it wouldve been a nice touch. A few hooks for swimming costumes outside and an extra pan wouldve helped though!"
Emma - Aug 2024

Emma - Apr 2024
"Really enjoyed it, definitely worth booking sooner rather than later."
Emma Roberts - Mar 2024
"We had such a lovely stay at The Jasmine! It really felt like a cosy home away from home. The place was spotless, especially considering its pet friendly, which was much appreciated. The private garden, hot tub and BBQ made our days super relaxing. Only thing missing was some oven gloves, but overall, well definitely come back!"
Emma Carter - Mar 2024
"We had a fantastic stay at this cosy lodge! Everything was spotless and having two bathrooms was such a relief. The kitchen was well-stocked with full-sized appliances and the hot tub was just perfect. Felt private and really relaxing overall."
Emma Clarke - Mar 2024
"We honestly had a fantastic time at this lodge! The place was super clean and beautifully decorated, it really felt cosy. The owners clearly put a lot of thought into everything. We loved the selection of board games and the WiFi was a lifesaver on a rainy day. Totally recommend it!"
Emma - Mar 2024
"Really impressed with how spotless everything was. The place had all the essentials, including a dishwasher and washing machine. Loved it!"
Emma - Mar 2024
"Really loved it, had everything we needed!"
Emily Carter - Mar 2024
"We recently stayed in the Avocet lodge and honestly, it was really lovely. The space was great - plenty of room in both the bedrooms and the living area, which made it super comfortable for everyone. We all genuinely enjoyed our stay! If I had to mention a couple of small things, larger door mats wouldve been handy because we do take our shoes off and the one at the door was a bit on the small side. Also, with only a two-seater sofa (which you could squeeze three onto, but itd be a bit tight) plus two armchairs, I think having an extra chair might help, especially if youre a larger group or a family of six - seats could get a bit competitive. The other thing was the kitchen, which could do with a few more pieces of crockery, maybe some bigger dishes for cooking - we had to do everything in batches because there wasnt a large enough pan or dish. Still, overall, a lovely place!"
Emma Harper - Mar 2024
"We had a really lovely stay at Jasmine Lodge. The hot tub was a definite highlight, super warm and relaxing after a day out. The place had plenty of storage, even though we only stayed for two nights and didnt really need it. The only thing we found a bit disappointing was the kitchen setup - a corkscrew wouldve been handy and a bigger frying pan would be great if you're cooking for a few people. Still, these are minor issues. Overall, wed definitely recommend it and would love to stay again!"
Oliver Carter - Feb 2024
"Really impressed with how clean and spacious it was, had everything we needed."
Jamie - Feb 2024
"We had a lovely time, the place was spotless and super peaceful, which we really appreciated. The hot tub was a definite highlight. Beds could be better though - a topper would make a real difference. Still, would return!"
Emma Carter - Feb 2024
"The lodge was lovely, really clean and had everything we needed. The WiFi was pretty much useless, which was a bit frustrating. Luckily, there are shops nearby and easy beach access. Perfect for a peaceful, relaxing getaway, definitely recommend!"
Charlie - Jan 2024
"Lovely lodge in a peaceful area. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area."
Teresa - Jul 2022
"Loved it. We had a baby in our party so booked a travel cot. While the cot was not in our lodge upon arrival, staff brought it over and assembled it within minutes and also threw in a high chair. The lodge itself was lovely and perfect for our needs - also very well equipped with kitchen utensils which wasn’t our experience elsewhere in prior years. We hope to return."
Thomas - Jul 2022
"What a fantastic holiday we had very clean site plenty of space in our lodge, when we arrived to check in staff were more than helpful when being shown where we were staying we will definitely be back next year. ??"
Jenny - Jul 2022
"Second time we have stayed here and won’t be the last. Lovely surroundings near to a stunning beach. Facilities are immaculate and the staff so friendly and cheerful."
Sally - Jul 2022
"We stayed in the kingfisher like a few other people have said for the money you pay this could do with abit of a spruce up the screen over the bath has been broken since at least January and we have just been in July so looks like the same issue but then again I didn’t report it ,can’t fault the staff though our hot tub was checked everyday by a friendly park warden , it was quiet at night no club room ( which I think makes it better ) made our own entertainment we would come back again but it appears to be fully booked already"
Linda - Jul 2022
"The place is beautiful, the lodge was clean and the staff are very helpful. We had a great time. My little one could not stop smilling with the whole experience. Will definitely recommend and come again."
Dipen - Jun 2022
"A modern spacious lodge set on a well kept site with excellent facilities for all ages. It was just a few minutes walk from the sea shore and an easy stroll along the coastline into Lowestoft, which is well worth a visit. Southwold is nearby, and the car collection at Caister Castle is a must for enthusiasts The hot tub was a real treat. Thoroughly recommended."
Stuart - Jun 2022
"Lodge was lovely, could have been a bit cleaner. Site was nice and quiet but close to the beach which was ideal for us with dogs. Close to amenities and easy to go visit places. Site warden was very helpful and friendly."

Attractions Near The Hollies Kessingland

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to The Hollies Kessingland. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Africa Alive - NR33 7TF
about 1 Mile
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - NR32 4TZ
about 4 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 22 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 29 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 29 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 31 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 34 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
