Charlesworth Lodges Reviews

"In need of some upgrading really"
Samantha - Sep 2025
"Lovely cabin, washing machine, dishwasher, hoover, clothes airer, iron, pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, towels, sheets.. Handwash, toilet roll. Hot tub to the side/back with a lovely old tree over. Grassy surroundings, little walks to surrounding fields with sheep & alpaca's. We loved it and will definitely return."
SUSANNAH - Jul 2025
"Everything you need for a perfect stayThe only thing I would suggest is perhaps some rattan sofa seating out the front of the lodge"
PAUL - Jul 2025
"Fabulous relaxing lodge . Perfect setting to unwind and switch off . Will return for sure ."
Mandy - Jul 2025
"Our Charlesworth Lodges review: Fantastic 4 nights in the Lodge and will hopefully return one day."
Carole - Jul 2025
"Fantastic, we would stay in the same lodge again but would like to see other parts of the country."
Stacey - Jun 2025
"Great place to stay. Emma was extremely responsive at a host. Only thing i would say is that there was some stock imagery of the other lodges which caused a bit of confusion when trying to work out what the lodge we stayed in looked like."
Amy - Jun 2025
"Great stay, great walks and history me an my partner loved it nice tub to get your legs after mam tor"
Adam - Apr 2025
"We really enjoyed our stay at the retreat cabin. Its absolutely beautiful! The only thing wed suggest is adding a softer light inside the main room. Leaving the curtains open was lovely, as we could soak in the peaceful surroundings. Lovely place!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"The retreat cabin is stunning.Could do with a soft light in the main room, put the outside lights on and left the curtains open, could see all the lovely quite, peaceful location which was a bonus leaving open the curtains."
Karen - Mar 2025

"We recently stayed at the Amour 1 Lodge and honestly, it had its ups and downs. Inside, it was quite nice - the kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans and utensils, which made cooking easy. The living area was comfy enough for relaxing after a day out. The bathroom in the bedroom was a bit tight, though, with nowhere to put your toothbrush or toiletries, which was a bit annoying. The hot tub was okay; it was at the right temperature when we arrived, but most of the jets didnt work, so it felt more like a warm bath outside. We only used it twice in the week. The bed was a real letdown - it was an old, rickety wooden frame with a super soft mattress that sank in the middle. It creaked constantly, so we kept waking each other up turning over or getting up. On the plus side, the place was generally clean, though there were quite a few cobwebs hanging from the beams and light fittings over the bed. We did have a day without heating or hot water due to a storm, but the staff responded quickly and even brought electric radiators, which was a nice touch. All in all, not bad, but could definitely be better!"
Alex - Oct 2024
"Stayed in the Amour 1 Lodge. Was really nice inside, good kitchen and living room. Kitchen had a good stock of pots and pans and utensils which was helpful. Bathroom in bedroom was ok but a little on the small side. Nowhere to put your toothbrush etc. Hot tub was ok. Was at temperature when we arrived, however most of the jets didnt work so felt like you were sitting in a warm bath outside. Only used twice in the whole week. Bed was awful! Rickety old wooden bed with a very soft mattress that sunk in the middle. Woke each other up in the night turning over or getting up to use the loo cause of the creaking! Place was generally clean, however quite a lot of cobwebs hanging from the beams and light fittings over the bed. Did have a slight problem one of the days where we had no heating or hot water, due to a bad storm the previous evening, but the staff were quick to sort and even bought over some electric radiators which was a very nice touch."

"Unreal lodge"
Bethany - Oct 2024
"Beautiful cottage in a great location. Lots of booklets for walks provided which were really helpful. Hosts were very quick and responsive."
Raissa - Sep 2024
"Lovely decorExtremely comfortable deep sofaTv in the bedroom only worked on smooth radio and no controller so was just in the wayBut was clean and comfortable"
Nicole - Sep 2024
"Went for our honeymoon, having 3 kids we couldn't do abroad, at first we though we were just settling for second best, until we got there. It was amazing!"
Daniel - Aug 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at this lodge! The outdoor space was lovely and the copper bath was a real treat. It stayed hot enough, though it didnt last as long as wed hoped. Still, very comfy place overall."
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"Great little place for some peace and quiet, we really enjoyed our stay!"
Harriet - Aug 2024
"Perfect for a quiet few days away. Cottage clean, comfortable and well appointed."
Marwyn - Aug 2024
"The Lodge exceeded our expectation - we stayed in Coombes View 1 and were absolutely delighted with our accommodation. Set in picturesque countryside with breathtaking views, each lodge is situated well away from the others offering privacy and tranquility. Inside the lodge was beautiful, well equipped and immaculately clean. The hot tub was maintained daily and was up to temperature by the time we had unpacked. We had the added bonus of the company of 3 Alpacas who came to the fence at the side of our lodge daily. Another highlight was helping owner Mark herd 4 of his sheep, who had escaped their field and decided to pay us a visit. We spotted a deer from our kitchen window on our last day! This place is a hidden gem, was such a relaxing break and a complete change from the normal busy pace of every day life. If youre looking for a get away from it all break this is the place and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be returning."
Amanda - Jul 2024
"Honestly, our stay at The Lodge was just what we needed. We stayed in Coombes View 1 and from the moment we arrived, it felt special. The location is stunning, nestled in lovely countryside with views that just take your breath away. Each lodge feels private, so you get that real sense of peace and quiet - perfect for unwinding. Inside, it was beautifully decorated, super clean and had everything we could possibly need. The hot tub was a real treat, always ready after a quick check in the mornings. We had some adorable visitors too - three alpacas came to say hello at the fence, which was such a lovely surprise. We even got to watch Mark herd some sheep that had escaped and paid us a visit! On our last day, we spotted a deer from the kitchen window - a perfect end to our trip. Honestly, this place is a good place, great for switching off and relaxing away from the hustle. Well definitely be back!"
Ellie - Jul 2024
"We had a beautiful stay at the cottage in the Peak District. The views were stunning, the cottage was beautiful and the hot tub was a lovely addition. The cottage was clean, with lovely decor and furniture. The kitchen had everything we needed, the dressing room was perfect and the bed in the master bedroom was deluxe! Thank you for a wonderful stay! We also loved the alpacas ????."
Clare - Jul 2024
"We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage. The bed was super comfy, especially the king size, which was a real treat. The views outside were absolutely stunning, perfect for unwinding. Everything we needed was there, which was great. The only minor hiccup was the smart TV - it only played BBC iPlayer, so it could do with an update. One evening, while relaxing in the hot tub around 7pm, the owner asked us to turn the music down, but we knew the rule about no noise after 10pm anyway. All in all, a lovely break!"
Jamie & Alex - Apr 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at this charming barn conversion. The peaceful location is perfect, even if the access road isnt the smoothest. The bed was super comfy and the bathrooms were modern, especially the one with the spa bath! The hot tub was a highlight once it warmed up. Definitely coming back!"
Martin - Apr 2024
"Really enjoyed the whole experience, thanks a lot!"
James - Mar 2024
"We spent a really nice weekend at Charlesworth Lodges. The place is quite spacious and cosy, making it ideal for a family getaway. The lodges are well kitted out with everything we needed, which was great. The only small issue was the hot tub - it was a bit tricky to get into and lacked hooks for towels or dressing gowns. On the second day, the water was chilly, so we didnt use it much after that. Still, overall, a lovely stay!"
Harper - Mar 2020
"The lodge was super cosy and spotless, which we really appreciated. The kitchen had everything we needed. The only downside was the sofas needing an upgrade and the pillows on the bed being quite flat. Still, wed come back!"
Rachel - Dec 2019
"Excellent stay, just a few minor things that could elevate it. Mirror in single bed bedroom, dishwasher wasn’t working after being told it was fixed, a few wasps flying around. Otherwise the stay was brilliant and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you ?"
Greg - Aug 2022
"A very nice and clean lodge that was good value for money. Hot tub was also clean and well kept. The only slight issue was no access to WiFi (couldn't find or connect) but was a minor flaw when everything else was really good. Would return happily."
Frances - Jul 2022
"Been here several times before so that should say something of my opinion of site , ( first time in old barn though ). Ideal spot to get away from it all for a few days , but plenty on door step if required ( Buxton , Manchester)."
Christopher - Jul 2022
"All round excellent, my only complaint is that there was no where to sit to dry your hair and make up as there’s no dressing tables or mirrors, apart from that excellent."
Michelle - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodge with fantastic amenities located in an idyllic spot, would definitely book again, in fact I have booked for next year already."
Debbie - Jul 2022
"This place MADE our trip. Recommend it to anyone."

Wendy - Jun 2022
"A lovely location, staff were very helpful and overall great visit"

"Just a bit annoyed that when booking I was told a 10.00 am checkout, only on arrival to be told it was now a 9.00 am checkout. Rushed morning!"
