Forest of Dean Lodges

Forest of Dean Lodges combine a stunning location with luxurious accommodation to create the perfect environment for a relaxing holiday for the whole family. The lodges are surrounded by oak woodland and offer easy access to spectacular scenery, picturesque villages and historic Market towns.

The site is well equipped for nature lovers with trails, ranger led walks, mountain biking and forest walking all on offer. Other facilities include children's play area, coffee lounge and shop selling self catering essentials and souvenirs. There is also a launderette. Those seeking exciting outdoor activities will find plenty in the surrounding area including climbing, abseiling and canoeing in the Wye Valley.

If a more gentle pace is required then golf, fishing and woodland walks can also be found. Families can enjoy a range of attractions including gardens, parks, craft centres and even steam train rides.

Most of the lodges here have luxurious private hot tubs which offer the prefect place to unwind after a day of exploring the region. We recommend the Golden Oak Lodges to families. These lodges have either two or three bedrooms and are very spacious and modern. The Golden Oak Plus and Golden Oak Treehouse are ideal for large groups and offer top of the range accommodation with all the mod cons. If value for money is a top priority then the Silver Birch Lodges are ideal and won't blow the budget.

Date of stay: 20th October 2017
The cabin was so much better than we could imagine, if I only had one comment, we had to go out and buy pans as there were none but everything else was spot on!
Sara, Derby
Date of stay: 6th October 2017
Our cabin was huge, suitable for 2 more people or children, very well laid out, very warm with underfloor heating. Only thing that could have been better was the oven, which was a bit slow. Hot tub was awesome!
Jean, Cardiff
Date of stay: 7th August 2017
Nice roomy cabin, nice location and cabins were well spaced out
Mark, Neath
Date of stay: 28th July 2017
The cabin was great, however we did have a few issues.

1. We were having problems with the volume on the TV and went to reception on the second day of the holiday and the lady (not sure if she was the manager) said that she will send someone from maintenance to sort this out. NO ONE turned up to fix the TV so we had to struggle with the volume for the rest of the holiday.

2. There was only 1 roll of toilet paper and we were told at the front desk that we had to pay more. This was not recorded on your site. Please could this be added for future reference.
Date of stay: 28th July 2017
Lodge great.could have been a little bit cleaner on arival but was still fine for us as kids soon trash the place!
Gina, Manchester
Date of stay: 24th July 2017
The lodge is clean and the interior decoration is modern. As the kitchen is very well equipped, we made and enjoyed our own meals at the lodge. As the whole park is situated in the forest, you can observe all the wonderful natures just sitting in the lounge.
Sharon, Hastings
Date of stay: 21st July 2017
We were very impressed with our Golden Oak 3. I would just say though that it could do with more drying facilities. There was no towel rail in the en-suite. Both bathrooms could do with a heated towel rail.
Suzanne, Leicestershire
Date of stay: 21st July 2017

Christopher, Dumfriesshire
Date of stay: 14th July 2017

Date of stay: 1st August 2016
Weekend away for a group of friends and partners in their 20s. Had a really good time, nice chilled weekend and made full use of the hot tub. Only downside was the tv remote was unresponsive and after reporting this twice no one ever arrived to have a look at it. Went to the near by symonds yat which was nice and picturesque. Lodge was much bigger and spacious than expect from the pictures and was finished well. The cleaners even set the scrabble board up to say welcome, which was a nice touch. Would definitely go back for a chilled weekend.
Jane, Lowestoft
Date of stay: 11th July 2016

Date of stay: 19th February 2016
Beautiful lodge in a gorgeous location - excellent facilities in the lodge and we were very warm and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and answered any queries we had efficiently. The lodge was clean but not spotless and it would have been better to have more glasses to use!!!
The lodges are expensive but we enjoyed our time there, thank you x
Ruth, Somerset
Date of stay: 15th February 2016
The only thing i would suggest is that the treehouse sleeps 10. The saucepans and bowls were of a size for a smaller group and were a bit inadequate when preparing meals for 10 healthy eaters
Date of stay: 1st February 2016
There was a lot of dirt on the floor when we arrived but we sweep most of it up.
Date of stay: 1st February 2016
Definitely will be coming back

Fantastic holiday
Date of stay: 30th October 2015
Lovely cabin, could have done with a deeper clean, but everything else there was no fault with.
Carrie, Berkshire
Date of stay: 30th October 2015
The accommodation was excellent, although I was a little disappointed to have been allocated a meadow cabin as I thought I had requested a forest cabin.
Jon, London
Date of stay: 11th September 2015
A little dusty in the lodge when we arrived but it is a Forest location so don't expect hotel cleanliness. An area to look at would be the placing of the bedside shelf which makes it difficult to put the twin beds together when you have more than one couple staying together.
Christine, Bristol
Date of stay: 31st August 2015
Only stayed for 3 nights loved it, would have liked a CD player as we did not really want to watch TV, would have been nice to know that there was a draw under the cooker that housed pans they could have told you at reception when you booked in
Christopher, Norwich
Date of stay: 17th August 2015
lodge was great only two problems one the dishwasher still had dirty dishes from last guests and we lost the wi-fi for one day. we payed for the entertainment pack with movies and sport but kids movies limited to just a few.
Date of stay: 14th August 2015
Loved the tree house.
It was nice to have enough seating for meals for all of us at once, not always the case in holiday accomodation
David, Warwick
Date of stay: 10th August 2015
We have stayed in caravans for more money that this before and therefore only expected it to be average. Far from it; the lodge was well equipped, spacious, good views, good parking...the list goes on. Only slight criticism was the fridge was perhaps a little small if you were staying more that a weekend, but that is being picky.
Ruth, Munlochy
Date of stay: 13th July 2015
I was a bit disappointed on arrival as there were numerous cobwebs on and around the entrance, outside table and chairs and inside the cabin. This needs a bit of attention. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed.
Date of stay: 10th July 2015
The log cabin was ideal. The only thing that we could fault was the cleanliness of the sinks. When we arrived I wanted to have a long soak in the bath but their was a tremendous amount of hair matted in the plughole (which my husband kindly removed for me as we didn't wish to begin the holiday with complaints). Missing items from the kitchen were soon replaced by staff.

The cabin was in a wonderful spot and not cluttered with too much furniture, but enough to feel comfortable.
Steve, Tamworth
Date of stay: 10th July 2015
The lodge was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. Internet access is very expensive at £10 per day, surely internet should be included these days.
Deborah, Letchworth Garden City
Date of stay: 6th July 2015
Lodges perfectly equipped and hot tub very enjoyable
David, Louth
Date of stay: 19th June 2015
Beautiful lodge and surroundings! Perfect for a good rest.
Took a while to get used to no WiFi or phone signal. Life does go on!
Very quiet and peaceful. Watching the squirrel eating nuts and having an evening coffee on the verandar, what could be better!
Madeline, Worcs
Date of stay: 29th May 2015

Samantha, Telford
Date of stay: 15th May 2015
The Copper Beech 3 cabin is very spacious even with six of us, we still felt as though we were not in each others pockets. Next time I think we will go for a Hot Tub one.
Lisa, Coventry

We were upgraded and although we didn't need the 3rd bedroom or use the hot tub it was nice.
Jayne, Bristol
Date of stay: 20th April 2015
Lodge very well equipped loved the underfloor heating and hot tub.. Saucepans etc in a drawer hidden under the oven. Toaster would be better as a 4 slice to cook for 4. Can order pizza delivery from your tv
Lindsay, Olney
Date of stay: 6th April 2015
The lodge was beginning to need refurbishing eg blind broken, hob light didn't work, extractor fan in en suite didn't work. Ok but definitely not the standard we have come to expect in a Forest Holiday Lodge.
Jeanette, Edenbridge
Date of stay: 20th March 2015

Date of stay: 9th February 2015
We reserved the disabled access lodge as we had two very elderly ladies who use walking frames and we needed to take the car very close to the door.
I was a little worried about taking two ladies ( aged 84 & 90) to the forest in early February but the chalet was fabulous large and warm with under-floor heating which could be adjusted in each room, very useful as they liked it much warmer than my husband and I. It has a large well equipped kitchen and a large lounge area with two 2 seater settees, but an extra chair/s would have been useful. The floor to ceiling full width windows gave a great view of the woodland and the amazing variety of birds that ate titbits from the enclosed terrace. There was a spacious entrance hall with lots of room for coats and footwear. Unfortunately, the lodge was very dusty on every surface.
There was a large bathroom , a wet room, with a disabled shower, toilet and a tiny wash bowl! However the double bedroom was very spacious and looked as though it had been planned as an ensuite. This would definitely have been a massive benefit to our family group.
Despite this we were extremely pleased with the standard of our accommodation especially as it was of the lowest standard.
Barbara, Gloucester
Date of stay: 6th February 2015
Accommodation was excellent. Will definitely go there again
Date of stay: 26th January 2015

Highly recommended.

James, Reading
Date of stay: 12th September 2014
Very spacious cabin and nice surroundings.
Katie, Rotherham
Date of stay: 22nd August 2014
Glasses were dirty, under settee had a child's toy so clearly not cleaned under there.
Tea pot and cafetiere were also not clean, tea pot still had tea and cafetiere had coffee in.
Rosemary, Enfield
Date of stay: 15th August 2014
Lodge very comfortable. Kitchen and equipment very clean and in working order. Hot tub was a real treat!
Date of stay: 4th August 2014
Prices are high compared to other places but we went in the peak season so can't complain! Cabin was excellent, better than expected, good layout and hot tub was amazing, not very private as other cabins are close by but the cover flipped up to make it more comfortable. Me and my partner will be going back next year but will try the hideaway cabin for couples as they look more private and secluded.
Maureen, Liverpool
Date of stay: 13th June 2014
We are a group of 5 late 70's & 80's didn't like the walk along shale to cabin with luggage but once there everything A ok
Robin, Harleston,norfolk
Date of stay: 13th June 2014
At the rear of our chalet the forest floor had been cleared and I could see bits of metal, concrete, bricks and dressed wood, which should have been cleared a long time before my visit. This was the only fault I could fine with the whole site.
Samantha, Telford
Date of stay: 6th June 2014
We could not fault the accommodation it was fantastic. There was only 3 in our party and the Copper Beech 3 slept 6, so there was plenty of room to get lost in.
Louise, Birmingham
Date of stay: 23rd May 2014
Not very child friendly due to sharp objects in low draws in the kitchen. The bath was extremely slippery when wet and caused our daughter and ourselves to slip on more than one occasion.
David, Grimsby
Date of stay: 7th April 2014
Large, spacious and well laid out. Everything we could need to cook with was provided. Very clean, helpful staff who attended the hot tub.
Date of stay: 14th March 2014
The cabin was beautiful warm and secluded. Excellent

Date of stay: 7th March 2014
Need door stops as doors close on their own as their heavy doors.
Gayron, Ebbw Vale
Date of stay: 7th March 2014
I was very pleasantly surprised with the high standard of the cabin. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I had the double en-suite bedroom which was spacious.
The lounge was large, with leather corner-sofa and chair and a large wall-mounted TV. The one was wall was entirely glass, affording a view of the forest trees.
The kitchen was extremely well-equipped and well-designed.
Outside on the decking there was a table, chairs and barbeque.
The very best bit was the hot tub......I was so impressed that I went out and bought one for my own home.
It was so quiet at night that all we could hear were the owls hooting. And no light - we could see the stars.
There was nothing to find fault with and the entire stay was very pleasurable.
Claire, Llangollen
Date of stay: 3rd February 2014
The lodge wasn't very clean - there were cobwebs and a bin in one bathroom hadn't been emptied. Only one toilet roll in a lodge for 6 people is not acceptable as even the staff are embarrassed about this policy

Date of stay: 6th January 2014
Hot tub ceased to work after one day i.e. Did not stay hot. Reported to a member of staff on the 2nd day but disappointed it was not fixed.
Cleaning under settees should have been done as quite dusty/dirty underneath. Also under beds.
Ian, Tewkesbury
Date of stay: 3rd January 2014
everything you could want.... stunning cabins and right in the woods
Beverley, Llandudno North Wales
Date of stay: 3rd January 2014
We were very disappointed with the facilities in the kitchen. The hob had only one temperature - hot - the controls did not seem to work so there was no way to turn them down to a simmer. Also the oven had to go on to its highest temperature to cook anything. Having a grill in the oven when you're trying to cook breakfast for 8 people is not very handy.

My parents double room on the ground floor had nowhere to hang towels to dry - maybe each bathroom should have a heated rail to allow this.
Lodge was lovely, really well equipped and very clean. Great hot tub. Really peaceful. Surrounding area is beautiful.
Fantastic chilled weekend away. Lodge was spotless. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this place. We look forward to our next weekend away here.
Fab comfy lovely log cabin with all mods cons. Great location inThe woods, no 19. Lots of squirrels about. The onsite shop and cafe were lovely and staff really helpful. Hot tub was fantastic and our three young children loved it and slept really well in their rooms. Definitely want to book again!
Amazing location and lovely accommodation , would definitely recommend, already thinking of returning next year
fabulous location and enjoyed getting away with my partner. the staff were amazingly helpful. I just found that everything had a price even had to pay for a leaflet to show the route to take when going on the walks. they offer free Wi-Fi which was so bad you could not load anything and there was no signal to use my own and therefore I had to pay to have the better Wi-Fi. also for the cost I would of expected box office movies from sky but we just had a few films to choose from so we did not make use of it and freeview sports channels which we didn't use so we paid for the Wi-Fi really. charging 45.00 for 3 nights you would expect sky. absolutely loved the hot tub it was the best part for us.
Great Lodge, great surroundings, worst wifi in the world even if you pay to upgrade, DONT do it, it’s expensive and slow.
Fantastic lodges , will be returning later on this year
Great place we had a fantastic time, been her 3 times now and enjoy every time. Good for kids, pets and adults.
Just love it, keep going back.
Like this place a lot. It's easy going and I also like the fact that about half an hour after you arrive someone knocks on your door to make sure everything is Ok and if it isn't it's dealt with immediately.
Group of 7 ladies shared a lodge with hot tub and we had fantastic time couldn't fault anything going to book family holiday soon
Had a wonderful time. The forest looks beautiful especially from the hot tub. Well equipped kitchen. Couldn’t ask for more really. Would have liked a bit more kindling for Fire as only enough for one night but overall excellent
