Great lodge in the perfect location.
Would have benefited from some bird feeders just in front of the lodge to encourage the birds down to the lodge

No serious complaints, lovely views from the lodge. Recently installed WiFi a little unreliable - were told it is being upgraded.

We did not use the on-site bar/restaurant preferring to cook our own food in the lodge.

Cuckoo Lodge was perfect for us and the hot tub was wonderful. The fact that it was also pet friendly made it extra special for us. Arscott is a beautiful place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a really lovely relaxing time. My husband and Father played golf and both were very impressed with the course. They also loved that they could enjoy 18 holes of golf followed by a relaxing session in the hot tub! We also went to the weekly 'theme' night at the golf club which was Italian. The food was lovely, great value and all the staff were lovely. We will all definitely be back.

Magnificent break. There were a few criteria in booking this: We wanted to travel no more than a couple of hours, we wanted to be near a golf course and be in nice peaceful surroundings. We got all that and more. From other people's reviews, we knew that this would be a safe booking and were even more excited when we arrived. The lodge was well appointed, clean and had everything you could possibly need. We arrived early and the proprietor - Martin (probably the most relaxed person I have ever met) was there busy sorting the hot tubs. We insisted we would be back in a short while but he was quite happy for us to unload our car and start moving in. The first thing we noticed was the fabulous view looking over the 15th tee of the golf course and the wonderful greenery and hills beyond. We were not overlooked and the tee was far enough away and we were elevated enough so that we still felt private. The hot tub was a fabulous bonus and comfortably fit 3 of us with room to spare.

My daughter and I played golf a couple of times and the course was in lovely condition and was certainly a pleasurable stroll from hole to hole with fantastic scenery all around.

We took our dog, who also had a wonderful time and quickly made friends with Martin's Red Setter - Rory.

We got most of our groceries from a co op not far away and we had a local Indian takeaway one evening which was very good indeed.

Glynn (the club pro) and Max in the pro shop were very friendly and helpful, as too was Martins daughter who helped us with some local geographical knowledge and kindly drew up a map for us.

We have no hesitation whatsoever recommending Arscott lodges if you are looking for a peaceful break in lovely surroundings with friendly people on a fantastic golf course.

What a lovely part of the world, the lodge was spotless and the hot tub a delight. Surprised to find that there were only two lodges here, which for us proved to be a bonus. The owner was attentive to every detail and meticulous in the upkeep of the hot tub.

Lovely warm lodge, hot tub was a bonus. Particularly enjoyed Having breakfast looking out at the gorgeous views through the window. The golf club catered excellent food that was extremely good value and the staff were so friendly. A special thank you to Martin the proprietor who made sure everything was tip top. This is a holiday, whether you play golf or just want to chill that we highly recommend.
Thank you.

Great lodge with nice, clean and modern facilities. Hot tub ready to use on arrival too which compared to other sites usually needs first evening to heat up. Lovely views across the golf course over to hills in the distance. Park close by for easy loading and unloading too.

Everything you need for a self catering break. The lodge was very clean and spacious, with a kitchen/dining area and lounge, two bedrooms (one double, one twin) and bathroom with shower over a small bath.
The kitchen has everything you need for a self catering break, including all cleaning materials. Towels and linen are provided, although you may want to take extra towels for the hot tub. The hot tub was checked each morning.
Helen, Swadlincote
Date of stay: 28th September 2015
The cabin was kitted out with pretty much everything we needed to function as a family, apart from food obviously! There is a local One-stop shop which sells the majority of things you need, but it was rather expensive. If you can find one of the local Co-ops you will save yourself quite a bit of money!

The cabin was light and spacious, clean and tidy and there were no problems during our stay. Our daughter slept well and so did we. The beds were lovely and comfortable and the pillows were just about right - most places provide ones that are as flat as pancakes!

The hot tub was great. It was lovely enjoying the morning sun-rise and watching all the golfers arrive to have a round of golf. My daughter also enjoyed having a splash about and practising her swimming - she does have regular lessons.

It was lovely to sit in the tub and listen to the birds and animals in the wood. It was also quite eerie as well, with the sky being so clear and the moon being so bright. We ended up like prunes by the end of the three days!!

Would we return - yes we would. It was quite a little find within the County of Shropshire. If you want a quiet, enjoyable break away with plenty of walks and relaxing evenings in the tub, then I would recommend this place to you.

There is a complimentary free round of golf included in the package, which we didn't take up, only because neither of us can play!
Alex, Pontypridd

We loved this lodge! It is perfectly placed to overlook a duck-filled lake and the golf course with the countryside beyond. It has all the amenities and is a great size. Immaculately presented throughout and also beautiful from the outside. The living room doors open onto a veranda and this has a hot tub on it. We used the hot tub every day! Sitting in it and enjoying the views across the course was an absolute pleasure. If you need to use the heating in the lodge then this is very effective as the place warms up in no time.

The owner was very friendly and approachable and gave us tips on local points of interest.

We are looking to return here next year with some friends. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxed getaway then this couldn't be better.
Kathryn
Lovely break very quite and peaceful with beautiful views 😁
Andrew
Lovely, clean accommodation, very well equipped with everything you need from bath towels to tea towels. Amazing surroundings, peaceful environment and the owners on-going commitment to ensure any feedback given is responded to. (See guest book in lodge). Hot tub is brilliant and very well maintained.
Louise
Lovely setting if you want to relax and unwind

29/01 to 02/02/18 Wow what can we say it's perfect Came here for a midweek break with the wife, had a text message to ask what time we was arriving off the owner, replied to tell him 1 and a 1/2 hours early he said ok everything will be ready for you. The lodge is clean comfortable and well equipped whether you are here for 3 days or 5 days like we were. The setting is idyllic with the lakes, oak trees and golf course right in front of you so peaceful. Will definitely return Gary & Jackie ( Willenhall West Midlands)

Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
